Chocolate filled strawberries

These are so good I had to share!! It's like chocolate covered strawberries without having the chocolate coating fall off when you bite into them! YUMM.

2-3 dozen strawberries
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tb heavy whipping cream
4 oz. cream cheese
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Cut tips of berries off so they stand upright (you just need a little bit off to make a flat surface). Bowl out the top of the strawberry (where the stem would be) without going all the way through to the bottom. Set aside.

Cream together powdered sugar and cream cheese. Set aside

Melt chips in double broiler, add whipping cream and stir until creamy. Add to cream cheese mixture and stir well. Fill strawberries (using an icing bag or just cut the corner off of a sandwich bag) and refrigerate 1 hour prior to serving.

Isn't it hard to keep the chocolate in the strawberries since they would be sitting on their tips after the chocolate is in it? Or are you carving out a bowl from the tip?

I love chocolate+strawberries!

No, the chocolate is thick enough so it stays in the little bowl (you don't completely hollow out the strawberry). I wish I had a picture. It sounds more complicated than it is. You really just have to cut off a little bit of the point of the strawberry and that will allow it to "stand up". Then you remove the leafy part from the other end and cut out a little bowl to fill with chocolate. The strawberries will "stand" on the point end and the chocolate will be where the leafy stem was. Does that make sense?
Ahhh... got it now!
Life's too short to bowl out strawberries. Stuff one in your mouth, quickly followed by a chunk of your fave chocolate  YUM!!!

Seriously tho, that recipe sounds amazing!

I'm with Cassie....why spend all the time preparing when it could be used for EATING THEM !!!!
But yes the recipe does sound delicious! Um....maybe I can wrangle someone else to make them just so I can eat them...... :sidestep:
