Bad News, Stressing Day ...saved by the doctor!

I had a rollercoaster of a day.

I didn't post here but last week I had lots of cramps, blood, followed by something coming out, so when I had my appt today, I was scared to death. Didn't sleep a wink last night ...hoping today would come faster.

Well, the nurse couldn't find a baby. She kept telling me "sometimes it takes a few seconds for me to see it" to reassure me, but as she got frantic all over my belly... I could tell she couldn't find anything.

Finally, she told me that I had a miscarriage. I told her it was okay, and I kind of expected it, but as I said it... I burst into tears. I swore I felt gas bubbles or something mushing around last night.

I then had to wait an hour to see a doctor to see what was left inside of me to determine what they would have to remove themselves. Doctor looked and found the baby within seconds!!! HOLY CRAP, here comes the tears again!!!

Baby is only 8wk5dy, not 9wk5dy. Confusing to me since we know exactly when everything happened since we were monitoring things. She said maybe the egg didn't fertilize right away... Baby bean had a strong heartbeat in the 160s. Whewwww....

Anyway, the dang nurse was looking in my BLADDER which is why she didn't find anything!!!!!!!!!!! She apologized over and over so I'm not mad at her, but definitely had my share of emotions today!!!

I'm still scared to death and feel very uncertain.

New due date: 1Feb08

Whew!
Oh my! I bet you were scared to death!!

I'm happy things are OK :D . :ghug:
Oh Joah!!! 8O

I JUST saw you the other day, and you didnt seem stressed at ALL! I had no idea you were going through this!

What a relief! I so glad for you but still....YIKES!

hopefully youve now had your one big scare, and karma will provide you with an easy, trouble-free pregnancy from here on out! :phew:
OMG did you have to post it like that? My heart was in my throat!
I am SOOO glad that everything is ok with baby 'j' bean.
What about the cramps and bleeding? Could it have been that baby bean was 2 beans? That happened to my SIL, she miscarried one twin early in the pregnancy.
The second baby was fine.
They didn't tell me what the bleeding was from, but they thought what came out might have been my mucus plug forming. Well, the nurse told me it was probably the baby until I saw the doctor. I want to roll my eyes, but I could tell she felt so horrible. She was my nurse for lil J, and she was so good... so... I don't know. I just want to get past the 1st trimester now. Today's events have scared the bejeezus out of me.
YAY!!!!!

:ghug:

I have to say, my heart was in my throat when I read your post!

Apparently your bean enjoys playing tricks on you as much as mine does! I'm SO glad you and bean are ok! I've been a little worried since I haven't heard from you, and then after your first post... PHEW!

Just try to rest and take it easy as much as you can. My doc thinks my incident may have been stress induced, so try to relax. (Yeah, yeah, I know easier said then done with hubby deployed and a toddler running around).

I'm around if you need to talk! Baby Bean and I send kisses!
Yikes--scary!
That sucks about the nurse not finding it, but I do feel a little bad for her since I've heard it CAN be hard to find the baby sometimes when it's early on...
I'm glad everything's okay now...try and relax as much as possible...
WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!! My heart sank when I saw the title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always thought nurses were supposed tolet the Dr confirm a diagnosis????????

PLEASE take care of yourself and baby bean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take it easy. Glad things are okay!
J glad all is OK, take it from one mom to another I had that experience with my 2nd, I thought I loss the baby. TAKE IT EASY and no heavy lifting over the next few weeks, feet up when you can and rest & relax.

Hugs XX
OMG, how scary! I'm glad everything is okay. :phew:

oh my gosh that must have been horrible! im glad everything worked out though
so glad everything turned out fine :D
I am so sorry that you had this scare. :ghug:
So sorry for your scare. I had one at 6 months with my almost 12 yr old. I had a gush of blood, but the placenta was slightly over the cervix and moved a tiny bit as things progressed. I know how scary it is. Try to take it as easy as you can for a while.
L,

So glad everything turned out ok.

I know you like that nurse, but she was checking your BLADDER???? And just how long HAS she been doing ultrasounds?? Ginny's right - she shouldn't have said anything until the doctor came in to confirm. Geesh!

Take it easy for awhile. Let the girls pamper YOU for a change!! :ghug:
SO sorry you had this scare. I'm just glad the baby is ok and doing fine. :ghug: :ghug: Take it easy, prop up your feet, the housework can wait. You and "little bean" are more important!!!! :ghug: :ghug:

Wow, I am glad that I read your ENTIRE post! Way to scare everyone! I am so happy to hear that Baby is okay, that must have been terrifying.

Does Lil J know that there is a little one on the way? Does he go to your appointments with you to see Baby?

Happy to provide cheerful sheepie playdate distrations, though!
:twitch: What a scary day.
I'm happy that the doctor could tell you that everything was ok.
"Be happy, don't worry, be happy....." :hearts:
Phew! Next time warn us ......... Very happy Baby Bean is still in the pod.

Like the due date......you realize Feb 2 is Groundhog's Day.....Baby Bean could be a groundhog!

No, he doesn't understand. Sesame Street just got a new baby in the neighborhood, and I always make him watch it.

The hospital has free daycare, so he goes there during my appts. I'm afraid he'd be so confused if I pointed to my belly and said baby when he just learned how to say in sign language baby to little kids. I went through him calling every barn animal a dog, so I don't want him going to random bellies and Signing BABY. 8O

No, had no idea!!! His daddy's bday is a few days later too, so his grandma is hoping for then. I love Aquarius'. I'm' hoping he comes early like J!! I'm so impatient and miserable those last weeks. J was so low throughout my entire pregnancy, so when he dropped... every step was OWIE since there was constant pressure "down there."
I'm very glad everything is ok. That would freak me out.
Hoping Baby Bean is high in the pod and you don't have to hang upside down just to relieve the discomfort.
That had to be the worst feeling in the world. I think if I was the nurse I would have fopnd a rock and crawled right under it. Glad to hear that everything's going to be okay.
Yikes! I can only imagine the anquish you felt in those few mins until the doctor gave you the correct prognosis. Really happy that little Bean(y) Baby is doing just fine. PSSSS the name MARIANNE is really nice huh,,,,huh????? Hint Hint.

Hugs to you!

Marianne
