Newest Foster - Zack 2 yr old Male

He was found on the side of a very busy street but a nice man stopped and picked him up and took him home. He ran an ad in the paper for 2 wks but noone responded so he allowed me to go and pick the dog up last night.

A friend's 4 yr old little girl told me his name was Zack - and since we don't know what his real name is - Zack it is. Zack is approximately 2 yrs old, and has 1 blue and 1 brown eye, he wasn't neutered. You can definitely tell this was somebody's baby as he knows all the obedience commands and is just a total sweetheart. He followed me everywhere last night even slept on the floor on the side of the bed. He would growl everytime London got near him. (London would just cock her head at an angle and look at him and whine. I assume she was telling him that I was her momma or knowing London she wanted to know why he didn't want to play.) He is a smaller sheepie both in height and in weight. Even with all the matts (and the mats were very bad) he only weighed 67 lbs. If you look at the picture you can see that the matts are so bad on his legs he could fully extend his leg or stand completely upright.

I dropped him off at the vet's this morning and my groomer has already shaved him down and the vet check revealed bi-lateral yeast infection, negative for heartworms, negative for any other type of worms, but loaded with fleas. He will get neutered tomorrow and then as of Wednesday, he will be ready for a good home.

The sheep i rescued in February was in the same shape - matted to the bone - the next day the groomer presented me with a pelt filled with urine. I wish people would understand that matting is painful to their dog. Thanks for rescuing him, he will make someone a nice pet.
Wynette,
He's a beautiful guy! Hope he finds a home really quickly.
Awww...I can't wait to see him all cleaned up! Glad he is being taken care of and on the road to finding his furever home!
Wynette, these poor sheepies are so lucky to have you. He looks like a cutie.

Poor little London, doesn't Zach know that she is the playing committee at your house.

A cutie. Thanks for taking great care of him!!
He's just adorable, matted hair and all! Can't wait to see a picture of him shaved down. Love that splash across his back!

Thank you SO much for taking this poor boy in. I'm sure he'll make someone an excellent pet. :ghug:
Wow - sounds like he'll be a keeper for a nice family. I'm so sad he was in such bad condition . . .
I would love to know how this baby ended up on the side of the road. He is so gentle and sweet. He had his surgery today (neuter) and made it through with flying colors.

I will be picking him up tomorrow after work and bringing him home. I will post some new pics of him this weekend.
i wish i didn't haver my hands full with my 2 sick ones right now .. he is so handsome.. post more pics please
Awwww...
Zack looks great with his haircut! :D
I bet he's happy to get those knots off him.
Best wishes in finding the perfect home buddy!
Lucky Zach - he's got a great foster home. :D He looks so good with his new hair cut and you can tell he feels better, too. I like his markings. He's a handsome boy.
Poor fellow, being left all alone on a street to fend for himself. His life is definitely taking a turn for the best. :D
