Fred Scraped his Paw Pads

Fred and I were out walking and we got caught in a thunder shower. We started to run back to the house. Fred lost his footing and slipped on the wet concrete. He then rolled over and crashed into the for sale sign for my neighbor's house. Naturally he was disoriented. (trying to provide a visual) Anyway, he is not limping but, he did irritate his paw pads a great deal. He scraped them up a bit. Is there anything safe that I can use to clean his paw pads that will not cause further irritation?

Aw, poor Freddy! I'd clean his little feet off with some mild soap and water. Maybe rub in a little Vaseline before bed time :D
Keep them clean, and apply any good cream or ointment of your choice.
Watch for infection, but they should heal up fine.
I just went through this myself with Frank a week or so ago. Clean & dry them real well & you can purchase something at your drugstore called liquid band aid and apply it. It helped Frank not gimp around so much, but you should keep him off of hard pavement until he heals.
neosporin works well too....just make sure he doesnt lick it off...add a sock over the foot if he starts licking....
Thank you for all of the suggestions. I cleaned his paws last night and applied some vaseline before bed time. His paws look a great deal better today.
