Age of Love (Kittens vs Cougars)

I can't decide whether to watch this or Hell's Kitchen. Actually flipped back and forth the entire hour. I loved the look on Mark's face as he found out how each woman was... 48? (mouth drops and tries to play it off with a ....Ohhhhhh realllly)

Kelly Ripa said on Live with Regis and Kelly that her husband (the host) told her the girls thought he was the Bachelor and were like "aren't you married???" (while flicking their hair back...showing interest). At least this is how she reenacted it on the show.

Anyway, can't wait to see the faces of the 40 yo's when they see the girls in their 20s

that's okay... i have no problem talking to myself .................again.

This show doesn't compare to the Bachelor. It's a lot slower. Some of those 40 yo's have more wrinkles than the 48 yo with a 25yo kid!!!! I like her, but I do think it's weird to be dating someone who has a kid your age. The show seems pointless unless he chooses a 40 yo, but I'm hoping (so far) he chooses someone in her 20s
Well...I can't talk to you, because I love Hell's kitchen!!!! Shame on you for not watching Gordon rip peoples heads off

We can, however, chat about sumptin' else!!!!!
No, I watched every second of it!! HK airs when AoL goes to commercial... if I miss something on AoL, it's not hard to fill in the blanks! They even cut off people (cooks or women) at different times, so I can watch both!

I don't really like any of the guys on HK except for maybe the black guy.
SPOILER --- maybe:

There was leak on the internet that he is the one that won it all!!!!!

I also like the waffle house cook!

(See honey, we're talkin' now!!!)
:clappurple:
Okay, I need to teach you how to post spoilers...

You need a lot more spaces (enter) between the word SPOILER and the actual info, and maybe even saying it's about the possible winner.

If he's the winner, that totally ruins the show for me. :(

I haven't watched it yet, but I agree with you. I get the point of the show and all (I think) that women are still hot and sexy and desirable when they get a little older and more experienced, etc...and I get that it's fine to date and marry younger men...but really, if you have a grown child who is only 5 years younger than the guy you are dating...that just seems creepy to me. (Guys too--when they date super young girls who are the same age as their kids--Rod Stewart, cough cough)

I don't understand that at all... if you don't know the spoiler to be accurate (and you don't) right down till they announce the winner you won't be sure. I don't see how that very wimpy piece of a spoiler could "ruin the whole show" for you, I think that's an exaggeration. ;)

Now here's the REALLY big spoiler... At the end of the series they will run credits..and then commercials! Really, don't read that last line unless you wanted to know.

OK, you can continue reading now.

You also aren't into these reality shows 8) No matter where you go, there is always the SAME proper etiquette. A leak... is usually true when said the way she said it. Posting such, always gets people boo'ed off the thread (banned) unless it's properly labeled (winner is something that goes on a different thread entirely). It's different if it was posted by blow-joe as a theory (b/c they saw him buy something expensive after the show).

Posting a spoiler of who gets booted next is bad in itself, but posting the winner is not a small spoiler and is not an exaggeration to degree of disappointment.

Someone just did this (on another site) for the LOST season finale. Posted what they said was "their theory," but was clearly a copy and paste of the actual SPOILER ending of the season. No one has been hated more than this person due to this. It just ruins the show. Everyone was in agreement.
I'm sorry....really....

Its just a rumor.

Not necessarily a truth..

Excuse me while I hide in the corner now....

:sidestep:
It's okay. :)

I looked it up after you posted it, and the spoiler is based on some pretty good info, which is why they closed all betting on the show. No biggie now :) Maybe we'll be surprised and the winner be someone different. 8)
So, what's with the attitude on the old ladies? They seem way more catty and rude than the younger girls do...and it's more forgivable in the younger girls because they haven't been around as long.

I'm hoping a 20something wins (but not the 21 year old...she's too young--I'm so agist!) 8)

Ummm, Johaeyo? Read this again, then put down the remote and slowly back away from the reality chat sites...
Hey, TAKE IT EASY ON POOR MRS J!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has to occupy her time with SOMETHING til Mr. J gets back!!!

Actually I've resisted the urge to watch this show, although I must admit I would love to have seen the show where the 20 year olds found out about the 40 year olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watch too many of these shows. Always have and don't care. Like 'em! 8)

Last night confused me since after eliminations... I looked at the remaining girls and thought there's 1 hot 20-something yo and 1 hot 40-something yo. ...but the 40-something yo is the one that's 48 w/25 yo son, so why would he choose her?

There's a 40 yo whose face looks like it's caving in b/c she's so skinny. Grosses me out when she talks. Lots of wrinkles forming too.

I was shocked when he eliminated the 20-something yo that he seemed to have the most chemistry with! He should have eliminated the overly emotional curly sue (mary?)!!! She was in the middle of a conversation with him, and he just walked the heck off b/c he wasn't intrigued.

I love the girl he kissed on the one-on-one (20-something). The 40-yo that also had the one-on-one date gets on my nerves. She looks too 'big' for him to me. She's skinny but they just don't mesh well together.
I agree!

And that 40something on the individual date...I think she seemed manly--like really broad shoulders or something...I mean, she has a better body than I do, but she still seems big--you're right about that...
Yeah.. exactly. When he made the comment 2 episodes ago about her having "legs that don't quit" ...I wanted to barf. He looked like he wanted to shoot himself the last 5 minutes of their 1-on-1 date. SO confusing why he kept her.

He said he's used to dating girls that are A LOT younger. Last girl was 10 yrs younger he said. I don't blame the guy. He's got to be hot stuff in Australia ...not to mention women dig guys his height.
Hi accent makes me wonder how often he is actually in Australia though. It seemed like sometimes he didn't even have much of one...
You guys are CRACKIN me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it sounds like we don't like 40 yo's, that's not it.

Jussst
his choices make me feel sorry for him. Guys dream to be the "Bachelor," but here he is with not-so-good options.

'Nother thing that bothers me is they didn't just make the 20-somethings young, they are portrayed as dumb too. ...like none of them have jobs that the girls on the other show The Bachelor would.

Anyway, did anyone catch the show that came on AFTER this last week? Called The Science of Love or something. Mark was also the host. They wanted to know if we can do a better job at finding love or if science can. The entire purpose of the show was to promote perfectmatch.com (or whatever dating site it was). How many people would go to their site if the professional ftbll player didn't choose science? He was a big goofball and the girl science chose sounded like a man.

That is SOOOOOOOO funny. I was telling my husband that throughout the show. She's a man...she's a man!! ha ha ha. He totally would not really pick her...I'm sure he had to.
So, what was up with the girl who wouldn't stop crying!? I mean, come on, get it together!

I'm glad that he sent Kelly home and was a little surprised that he sent Tessa home. There is something about Amanda that I just don't like...but I have a feeling they are leading us to believe she's his favorite but in the end he'll choose someone else.
I have 2 sides for the crier. She cries too dang much over spilled milk, but the other side says she's probably a really good girl in real life. That doesn't mean I think she has a chance.

I think there's really only 1 good looking girl, and that's AMANDA!!!! I love her and think her feelings are natural for a girl who is starting to really fall for a guy. I know I'm the same girl who believed the sky is green when I think the world of a guy. But totally agree that my gut says he picks someone else.

But THERE IS NO ONE ELSE!!!!

I have nothing wrong with a 40 yr old. That's not too bad. 10 yr difference, but please tell me I'm not the only one grossed out by the skeleton. He keeps saying she's beautiful, and she looks the oldest of them all!! Not sure if her eyes or cheekbones will cave in first, but she could definitely pose in one of those screenshots of what you look like after you've done meth for "X" amount of time.

I was laughing my head off when he told Amanda "WHEN?" when she asked about him kissing the man-girl, Kelly. Then he followed it with you're the only girl that I've "kissed... kissed." He made out with skeleton girl before her, and then followed it with exchanging lots of spit with the 48 yo.

No matter how hot the 48 yo is, and she is, how could you??
See...I don't think Amanda is pretty! There are times when she doesn't look too bad, but there is just something about her that doesn't work for me. And I understand liking the guy and stuff on her part, but at the same time, to me it's like the Bachelor--they've only spent very little time with the guy at this point! I know you can develop feelings quickly, but it seems too strong to me.

Which one is the skeleton?

Mary just seems like a weak whiner, not a good girl to me (with all her crying).
How do you not know? Her name is Jayanna. She's the one who thinks by making fun of others, it'll boost her own self confidence (made mary cry). She strikes me as the girl who got guys to fall in love by having sex with each and every one .................while she puffed 10 pks of cigarettes a day. She's only 38, and I pray to God that I don't look as old as her when I'm her age.

I do think she may be in the finals though. He digs her. She won't last long with him of course once he's out of this setting and realize how embarrassing he looks walking around with her.
Oh yeah! Jayanna. I kinda wondered why they even put her on the show since she's 38 or 39...and it's supposed to be 40s...Yeah, I think he kind of likes her too...she's a posterboard for suncreen and not smoking, though! Kids, you don't want to end up like her!
LMAO. I need to know who the skeleton is too. I thought Tessa was the most aesthetically pleasing of the younger group, so I was surprised that he gave her the boot. Of the older ladies, I think that Jayanna is probably the best lookiing one. The older women all look like they have had cosmetic surgery, which bothers me. Sobbing Mary bugs me out; a reality tv show is nothing to cry over.

The germaphobe in me was completely disgusted by the serial kissing last night pre-elimination. What was the M.o. there?
The skeleton is your favorite, Jayanna. Kelly Ripa just said she liked her the most too. I stand by my statements. On the next episode, watch her lip wrinkles caving in when she talks and her cheeks looks like they're trying to touch each other from the inside of her mouth (usually a sign that someone has lost WAY too much weight) ......or she's on meth.

Or maybe she's just not into all of the plastic surgery like so many others are nowadays.
Maybe so  ...but she's strikes me as the most materialistic and vain of them all. I have a feeling she has never been married b/c she's a bid childish. Outside of the 48 yo's apparent boob job, the rest don't strike me as beautiful due to cosmetic surgery. They seem to just be genetically lucky and some athletic. There may have been more 20-somethings with surgery, at least that was more apparent to me. These things 'can' be hard to tell though, so I don't know.
I don't know. The 48 year old to me seems like she's had botox. There's not a line on her face. And the other 40s seem like they've had some help too, maybe not surgery on anything...otherwise they have been blessed with amazing genes!
I think the plastic surgery on the 40 somethings is blatant and it sort of bothers me. I know many women that are plus 40 that are completely attractive and have never had face work done. Why couldn't the producers attempt to find a naturally attractive +40 woman.

Kelly definetly had implants and so does the 48 year old. The 48year old woman has probably had a face lift and botox too. Kelly looked like she had cheek implants.

I suppose I just have major issues with cosmetic surgery for vanity reasons.(not cosmetic surgery to say reconstruct a breast in a cancer patient) I am the type of person that watches Dr. 90210 and is amazed how people can see everything God gave them as a terrible. Personally, I think flaws can be very attractive.
Personally, I have no problem with plastic surgery or botox or any of those things, even if they are for cosmetic reasons. But, I think that if the point of the show is to show us that 40 year olds are just as attractive and interesting and as good a catch as younger women, I wish they would have had natural women on, rather than ones who have had work.
I just wanted to strangle Maria for not leaving AGAIN. What a crock of wrinkles she is to give a long loving speech to cry baby Mary!!!

At the eliminations, I couldn't help but notice the hair Mary flat ironed started to look like an afro from being outside. We could be cousins since my hair is the exact same way. Then in her final interview after eliminations, her hair was flat as a pancake (from all the moisture). No one should be cursed with hair like me.

I missed the first 15 minutes or so because I was putting J down so I didn't see who had a connection (was interested in mary and the other kitten who had never had a date with him).

I cringed when he started to french kiss ms. 48 yo.

I still think Jayanna has a good shot at final 2, but couldn't get the fact that she's the most immature out of all of them out of my head as she continued to criticize/demean the kittens.
HOLY MOTHER OF REALITY TV!!!! That episode was the BEST!

So in the beginning I was hoping I wasn't the only one who saw how rude Jayanna was to the other girls when pulling the "Be true to your feelings" and whatever else she said in hopes to play with the minds of the younger girls.

I got pissed when he said she was a favorite from the beginning.

THEN WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU'RE OUT OF HERE, YOU NUTHEAD!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I had chills running down me. :D
After last night I think everyone but, 21 year old Amanda is nuts.

Also, I don't know if you have checked out the NBC website for the show but, there are photos of the 40 somethings in their 20's. It is blatantly obvious who has had cosmetic enhancements done. Jen looks like a completely different person, it's creepy.
Woohoo!

Last night's episode was SO good :D

Okay--so I bet he'll have to kick off another 20something and then another 40something so they'll have drama for the finale--one old one young.

I was glad he kicked off Jayanna, but Maria was a little crazy too, so I don't know how long she'll stick around. Megan seems like the most normal of all of them--just really young. I like her--she seems like fun!

And in the previews for next week they had Mark saying something like "I can really see her as the mother of my children" so I'm assuming he's not choosing Jen, because she's too old to have more kids. That's just one of the things that bothered me about this show--if they are really choosing this for true love for ever and ever (with the theoretical intent of getting married), a man in his 30s will most likely want to have kids at some point, whereas a 48year old might look great and act like a lot of fun--but she's past her childbearing years...so what's the point of even bringing her into the equation to begin with?

Ooh, I'll have to check out the NBC website to see their pictures. It's obvious to me that they've had work done...
I agree w/all that has been said!

When Jayanna got the boot, I kept wondering how the finals would work out. Certainly crazy Maria wouldn't make it, and like Megan said while drunk... it grosses me out that he would choose Jen. Don't get me wrong, I actually like Jen. To me, she's been nothing but sweet and nice. .........but like barney mentioned, "for forever after with her?"

One thing I don't like about this guy is he's too emotionless. I think he's a lot like my husband. Not one to show his emotions on the outside; however easy to see he's sensitive to women, so you can never read him. I usually have an easier time reading any bachelor.

The young girl that got to spend the night with him is my favorite, but she almost seems TOO emotional for him. He's very "go with the flow."
EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW---you like AMANDA!!??

I just thought it seemed a little desperate for her to be waiting in his tent for him. And there's something about her that I just don't like.

Personality-wise, I like Megan and Jen the best (as seemingly pretty normal people). But it might be that one is too old for him and one is too young.

I read on the NBC website that Megan is jealous b/c all her friends from high school are getting married and she wants to too--WHAT?! all her friends? And they're 21? That's crazy!

Oh, and looking on the website, it tells if/how long the women have been married before. I'd say half the 40s have never been married, and the other half have, but I think the longest marriage was 4 1/2 years. Not that that has to mean anything, but I think it's interesting that they chose women who don't seem to have had the best history with relationships.

Jo--I agree. He does seem to hold in all his emotions. I was wondering, I wonder what would it be like if they had chosen an American man--would he be as accepting of the older women as this guy seems to be?
I'm not "in love" with any of the gals. i liked Megan's beach date b/c she's unemotional like him it seems (A lot of it has to do w/age), but like you said... my problem with her is he seems too mature for her. However, he likes them 10 yrs younger according to the first episode.

The only person I have a problem with winning is Maria.

I think the 48 yo is "deserving" , but I know the relationship would just be a long distance one where conversation is good but what else is there? She's almost as old as my mom, and my mom walks around like an old person on many mornings (aches and pains) ...and my mom exercises regularly.
I wonder if Megan seems unemotional because she isn't desperate? The others (not really Jen) seem to have this desperation about them, and I wonder if because Megan is so young and that it isn't life or death for her to find a man at this point in her life, if that is translating as uninterested in him. When she was drunk and said she wasn't sure how she felt, I liked that, because I don't think I would have known at that point either. I'd be like, you seem cool and nice and we get along well, but I don't know you very well either. And I'm thinking he actually might have liked her answer because it was definitely a real answer and not just one trying to win him or to please him or whatever.

I'm going to tell your mom that you said she walks around like an old person!
 ....my mom hears a "good grief, I just had another birthday. Hurry it up!!!" from her bad daughter all the time. Most of the time, I say it jokingly though. This is why I will probably have a girl despite my interest in one b/c someone has to torture me.

Anyway, I agree about what you said about Megan. I'm just distinguishing people like me (Amanda), and people like my husband (Mark and Megan). I'm an emotional sign and would probably be echoing everything she is doing. My husband is an aloof laid back sign. I prefer that over someone just like me. 8)
I hope they have a repeat before the second half of the season finale b/c I missed the few minutes where Megan decided not to get on the plane. WHAT THE HECK?!?! ....thinking back to her overall actions on the show, I think she came there for the wrong reasons. Why do you sign up to date someone from Aus. and think you honestly wouldn't have to be on a plane at some point? ...not necessarily on the show, but definitely if you two dated.

To be honest, I'm just disappointed in his choices in general... I give whoever he ends up with 2-4 months ...tops.
I hate promos. The whole, "you think you know what's going to happen, but you're wrong..." was bologna. Then, the fact they show who lost at the beginning of the show made me think the finale would have some sort of shocker, and there was none.

Worst ending ever. I say "ni" on it.
I agree. I didn't see the part in the beginning where it showed the loser, but I still agree!

Like that whole last part, where the girls are both walking toward him and the film kept cutting to one girl, then the next and back. That was annoying. You can do that once. They did it like 20 times!

And of course he couldn't choose Jen, I mean, family is really important (so they make it seem!) to him, and I just can't see her fitting in with them (as a gf or wife--maybe as bff with his older sister!).

When Jen was giving Amanda advice on the park bench, I thought they actually looked kind of related. Like Jen really COULD have been Amanda's mom.

Amanda won. She bugs me. Oh well. What's on next :D

Oh, but wasn't Melbourne BEAUTIFUL? I would love to go there!
did he pick the younger one?? i dont watch the show, but Brian and i have seen the trailers....

he said that that is a stupid premise for a show....99% of guys according to Brian would pick the younger girl....was he right? 8O
Yep, he picked the 25 year old. The final two were a 48 year old (with a 25 year old son) and a 25 year old. the bachelor guy was 30.

I agree that 99% would pick a younger girl (maybe not even younger than themselves, but not a 48 year old!) b/c if this is for real, and pretending they really were looking for love and a lasting relationship, it just couldn't work out with a 48 year old--I just can't imagine that she would want to have kids at that age (or maybe even be able to).

The 25 year old was annoying and weird looking to me, but in a way I'm glad he chose her, just because choosing the old lady would have been implausible.
