OES puppies in Indianapolis?? I'm worried.

I noticed a listing in classifieds today for AKC OES puppies near Indianapolis (actually a friend of mine who was looking into getting a puppy saw it and called me, though she isn't interested in a big dog). Here's the story... I called the guy just to see what the story was, and he has 2 OES dogs as his pets in Morgantown, one boy and one girl (not littermates, one came from MajesticPets in Kentucky). This is her second littler, and she had 10 puppies. He seems to be a decent enough guy, not really a "back-yard breeder" or "puppy-mill" guy (but not necessarily the most responsible pet-owner guy either)... he talked about how he is getting the mother fixed because pregnancy is hard on her and he's not looking to get into breeding. I even asked if he would be willing to meet me somewhere to buy a puppy (sort of testing him), and he said it was possible, but that he really would rather have me come to the house, see the parents, and try to pick out a puppy that truly fits... and he could also take a little more time talking to me about the breed and answering any questions. Pretty decent answer...But here is my concern... now there will be 10 new OES puppies out there that could potentially end up in the rescue if the people who buy them do so on impulse and end up overwhelmed (like the people I got Stella from).

What I was wondering is if I could give the name of this on-line community to the guy and ask him to give it to all the people who buy his puppies, so that if the new owners have questions or (God-forbid) decide they bit off more than they can chew, they would have a resource to turn to. I would hate for Nita to end up with some of these precious babies in her Rescue efforts, or worse, for them to end up in kill-shelters.

Ron... would you be OK with a little free advertising? :? I just think that if people are having problems and they had a support network like the one I have seen here, they would not give up so easy. Just reading the posts on here make me feel encouraged and re-energized (although giving Stella up would NEVER be an option!!), so I am sure it could do the same for others. The guy said he had a similar occurrence, that he almost got rid of the mother because she was very hyper and out of control, but the breeder he got her from talked to him and helped him rought it out, and he said he is so glad he did because she's the best dog ever. If he had had a forum like this, it would have been even easier!

OK, let me know what you think :)

Of course *I* think it would be great to give him the info for the forum:

and encourage him to pass along this info to his adoptive parents.
Thanks!!

I wish I had the money to buy all the puppies... then I could GIVE them away to people who already have ties to OES.org people, lol. And since he's not breeding her again, it wouldn't be the same a contributing to a mill.

I talked to someone else on here who said that PassPets in Lafayette (where Stella was bought from by her previous owners) frequently obtains puppies from an Amish puppy mill. The breeders name was listed as Meeno Graber (I think that sounds Amish? lol). Anyway, I just can't get over how anyone could give her up... but their loss was my gain. I just pray this guy's puppies don't suffer the same fate.
