Take your guess!

Well,

We have two more days until the ultrasound, and then we will (hopefully) know what it is. But where is the fun in simply waiting and telling all of you on Thursday?

No, no, no. It is much more fun to speculate, so here you have it! The Baby Bean guessing poll! Take a guess, and see who ends up being right! Are you gonna side with me (I think its a girl) or are you going with Mike (who's convinced it is a boy). Of course, baby bean could be stubborn, and if she/he is in the wrong position, we still won't know!

Regardless chime in, and let us know what you're betting Baby Bean will be!

Ooooh, I had a great non family friendly comment but I'm forced to keep it to myself...
Karen, we need more information. Like, WHY do you think it's going to be a girl and WHY does Mike think it'll be a boy?
I think a boy :)
One of each?
I put GIRL b/c I think mom's intuition is usually right AND I don't want one.. so I hope you have one. The more people around me that have girls, the better chance I have to have another boy. ;)

anyway, DRINK A SODA before you go! I guarantee the baby won't be crossing its legs at the appt!
One soda??? HAH! Try 32 oz of liquid. I'm under orders to go in after drinking all of that... and no stopping at the ladies room beforehand. Not looking forward to that part.

Mike thinks it is a boy because he wants a boy... He's never told me a real reason, other then that. Christina also thinks it is a boy, though sometimes I thinkshe says that just because she likes to push my buttons!

I think it is going to be a girl more because I desperately want one then anything else. And when I'm asleep, the baby is always a girl in my dreams! We'll see!
Okay, now that I have all the facts...

I voted BOY :D Just to push your buttons

Actually, in my experiences with friends, it seems the more the mom-to-be was determined to have a certain gender, it'd turn out to be the opposite. So that's my scientific reasoning. 8)
I'd have to see a pic of you before I can tell you.....so far I am pretty good at guessing....
One of each?
RON!!!!

Luckily, we've had the "mini" ultrasound already and there is only one baby bean in there... so while EVENTUALLY we may end up with one of each, this time will be one or the other!

I'll try and get a belly pic up tonight for all those who like to judge based on "how you carry"!
Hmm, tough one. When I was pregnant with Ryan I kept having a dream that I was holding "myself" as a baby. So I figured girl. I was wrong in the sex part of it, but Ryan was totally my clone as a baby.

With Hayley I was told from day 1 by all of hubby's family that it was a girl. I didn't want to get my hopes up. I also dreamed I had a girl.
Then at the ultrasound it was confirmed.

Wishing you get your little girl....

I say Girl (fingers crossed) :D
I'm going with the mother's intuition thing. I knew mine were
boys from the moment I knew I was pregnant. 'Course I
didn't know I was pregnant till I was almost through the first
trimester. I never bothered with any girl things, and
everyone thought we had asked to know the sex, but we didn't know
till their births. I did have a lot of ultrasounds with both boys,
but for other reasons.

So , I'm guessing girl, but I'm hoping boy just because boys are
easier -- at least for me. :?

Shellie
My intuition was so strong with my last pregnancy, I went home CRYING and almost depressed when we heard we were having a girl even though I knew I shouldn't be as long as the baby is healthy. ...just something inside of me was saying boy and wasn't at peace with the news. I put on a smile when we went out to eat (to celebrate) though. Nothing wrong with a girl, but hearing them say it just made speechless. Thankfully several weeks later, we found out it was a boy. :)
With each of my pregnacies I dreamed what sex they where and my dreams where right.

My husband had a dream one night that our daughter was pregnant and he was holding the baby and it was a boy. He said the dream was so real, he could smell the baby. when he woke up he had to clear his head as to what was a dream and what was reality. So I called my daughter on the phn and asked her if she was pregnant and she said how did you know. I told her Dad had a dream. She was so shocked that we knew. We told her it was a boy, and it was, Anthony. Anthony was born two days before my husband's birthday, and the two of them have a lot of common traits. lol
Okay, let's be scientific here!

On Mike's side of the family only, if he has any brothers and they have children, what sex are those children? How many of each sex did Mike's Dad sire? And if Mike has any uncles on his father's side (brothers of his father), what are the sexes of their children? Whichever sex outweighs the other is the probability of what you will have.

Having said all that, although my husband's brother and father all sired nothing but boys (5 in total) and his paternal uncle fathered an only daughter, and our first child was a boy, our second child was a girl.

So go figure! If you're intuition says girl, that's what I'd side with. My intuition STRONGLY said boy for our first, and my husband's intuition STRONGLY said girl for our second.
OK!

Mike's father had 2 girls (older then Mike) and one boy- my hubby :)

He has no other blood uncles on that side (his dad and his aunt were adopted).
Mom's intuitions are usually right - I vote GIRL. :D
You guys have a point with the intuition thing... I knew without a doubt what each of mine were... hmm....
I can't wait for you to find out. I keep coming back to this thread and was upset when I realized you said "2 days from now..." and not "we're finding out tomorrow." :D

or im becoming slightly partial to Daron 8O :D
Well, YAYYYYYYYY! :excited:

Was your husband just thrilled when he:

1. saw the ultrasound of your lovely growing bean
2. that it was a BOY!

Did you say a long time ago that you had a boy name picked out? If not, what are you guys thinking?

Are you showing yet?
Congrats! Boys are great too and they just adore their Mommas. :D
It's just getting used to the whole boy thing that takes some time.
I had a little sister so I really had no idea how to deal with a boy. But you learn. :D

I bet Mike was doing the "It's a boy" dance.
 MEN!! lol
My Ex did the "It's a boy" dance with Ryan. It pissed me off since it meant that I lost the bet. I had bet him $50 that it was a girl.
WOooohoooo!

Yay Karen! What do I win? 8)

That's awesome...so, do you feel different now that you know what it is?
Thanks everybody. We're very excited. The ultrasound tech gave us a whole roll of pictures to take home. unfortunately, my scanner is broken, but I'll try and get it fixed.

Mike was very good about not rubbing my face in the "I told you sos" yesterday. My sister was not quite as gracious. she was very excited about the fact that she was right  Mike was pretty much convinced it was a boy already, so in typical Mike fashion, did not show any surprise, and told me he would have been equally happy with a boy or a girl :hearts: Aww!

Honestly I was so busy looking at my son on the ultrasound, I didn't look much at my husband during the exam

But Mike was VERY proud that his son was NOT shy about letting us know he was a boy. That was one of the first images we saw actually, and there wasn't any doubt about what we were looking at

All in all, the tech told us Baby Bean is very photogenic, she was able to get all the shots and measurements she wanted, and he looks fabulous! Perfectly healthy, in great percentiles for his age, and my due date is still 10/31. She was vrey pleased with what she saw, and so are we :hearts:

Now to get that nursery started!!!!
Aw, a little boy! Maybe he'll let you play dress up :D
Congratulations!! :go: It was so neat to read when you said "I was too busy looking at my son." I choked up a little on that.

Think of it this way - now you'll have a protective big brother for any younger siblings!!

That is exactly why I wanted a boy first. :D

There were a few teary moments for me in the exam room. It was really overwhelming for me to see him in such detail for the first time! He's a beauty!!!:hearts:

And SO busy! I was amazed at how active he was, even though I can only feel him once or twice a day. Those little hands and feet were all over the place! I guess this is one of those days were I can barely contain myself. Proud mamma mode is just bustin out all over!
I told you, one of each! :) :)

(That was my story and I'm sticking with it!)

I'm glad you were pleased with your son's lack of inhibition and openness. Please remember this when he's sitting at the breakfast table, chewing with his mouth open. :D :D :D
