Breena is really really sick

I just needed a place to vent about what a crappy day this was. This whole weekend Breena was gassy ( nothing new for a sheepie) but this morning she threw up 3 times and had runny stool. I cleaned her up and had to go to work- when I get home a few hours later she had had explosive poo- All over her crate, her, her bedding, and onto the carpet too. I cleaned her up and took her to the vet. The vet said her tummy felt fine but he gave her 100 or 1000 cc's of water intervenously (sp) and told us no food or water for 24 hours. He also gave her upset tummy pills. On the way home she vomited in the car and the water is leaking out of her skin ( I guess its normal) but her back is really wet and thus has been my pant legs because she just sleeps on me. As she is now. She keeps looking at me and her bowls like mommy why? It is so sad. If she is better by 3 morrow we just need to monitor her but if she isn't the vet wants her in for x-rays and blood workups to see what she got into or what is making her ill. It is so frustrating that she can't tell me what is wrong and so sad she thinks I'm depriving her of something. I've even cried twice today- as she gagged in my car and I tear up when she looks at me and her bowls. Its so so sad.
Thanks for listening guys- I just needed to write it out

Aw- poor Breena. I hope she feels better soon- -and you too!
Poor baby :(

Did the vet check a stool sample?
They couldn't check the stool because it was so watery. I couldn't even get it in. If she goes again tonight and its good I will take it in tomorrow.
I am so sorry you both have had such a bad day. :(

A long slender plastic tupperware container might be good to catch samples.
You could also just pick some up with a spoon and put it in a bag.
Oh, poor Breena and poor, poor, you. I hope she starts feeling better. I hate that "But Mom, I'm starving" look, so I would cry too. I agree, stool sample would be good, sounds like she has a worm or bacteria in her intestines or stomach. Good luck!
Hugs for both of you, I hope breena is on the mend soon, poor baby and poor you :(
I am so sorry to hear about your sweetie sheepie girl Breena being ill. It just tears at your heart. I'll cross my fingers for you! Hang in there. :ghug:
Hugs and good wishes for Breena to feel better soon. Poor baby! I know how it tears your heart out when they look at you with those puppy-dog eyes.
I hope Breena feels better soon.

We had 2 with diarhhea here this week. Chewie and Riley the rat terrier. I'm sure ours was that they were picking up on the stress level around here. Both are better. Hope the same for Breena.
I'm so sorry your baby isn't feeling well. :(
I hope she's doing better this morning.
Well Breena went the day without vomiting or pooing. She had her pill at 3 and a little bit of ID food. She drank a bit too and hasn't pooed all night. Yippee. After she ate about 3 hours after the first time just a 1/2 of a small can she went out and started jumping and trying to run on the leash and being a total puppy. We came in she laid down and threw up a bit. I called the vet and he said to keep and eye on her and try to keep her calm- which is not an easy feet with this lady. She has been fairly well the rest of the night though a bit into everything (she's feeling better and bored) She was licking her toy puppy and when I picked it up it smelled faintly like the ID food but I can't be sure if she threw up a little or if the smell is from her licking it so I am keeping my fingers crossed she does well tonight and can hold down the food in the morning. I am planning on getting up with her around 4:30 so she can eat and I can monitor her before work.
Thank you all for your well wishes and support- I will keep you updated
Times like this having them crate trained is wonderful. They can remain inside and quiet. Puppies often have these "explosions". Maybe she got into something, ate something, was she near any other dogs or did she walk at a dog park? Drink from a puddle? It's hard to say what she had.....or hopefully HAD. Hope the little one continues to improve.......get well little B.
How is your girl doing today? It's so hard when they don't feel well and we dont' know what to do
Breena is crazy tonight- She must be feeling better - she had a little spit up this afternoon but it could be because she is a crazy lady. Since I have been home she decided to herd me several times in a circle. I'm not sure what her instincts were accomplishing other than making us dizzy, then she grabbed her leash put the handle in her mouth and took herself for a walk around the dinning room table and up stairs, and she pushed our door open and took herself for a walk on the front porch. I think she is feeling better I just don't want her to get to excited and have a relapse.
My finance did mention today that Sunday as he was picking up the yard she got into the poo bag and might have eaten some and she did try to drink for a puddle on Sunday as well. I'm hoping whatever it was her body is fighting it off.
Also she is on flagal(sp) for vomit and pooing- Does anyone know if that can make them not poop? We have been on a few medicines that have that as a side effect and I was wondering about this one. :?:
Again thank you all for caring its meant a lot. All I could think was the worst ( Foreign linear object)
Flagyl won't keep them from pooping. I do know carafate will help firm them up - is she on this? I'm so happy she seems to be feeling better!
She is on the Flagyl not the other but she did just poop- promptly after I wrote this. It was soft but formed so thats a step in the right direction. Ahhh puppy on my lap- Yep she seems to be feeling better.
Fingers crossed- knock on wood! I'm not superstitious but I'm not taking any chances. :plead:
I'm knocking on wood here, hope all is going well and she is on the mend.
i had 6 months of that with derby glad to see she is doing better
Glad she is feeling better. :)
