A few prayers please

My mother-in-law became very ill on Friday. Myself, LeAnne and her daughter Nona went to her house and loaded her into Nona's van and brought her to the ER. She was almost totally unresponsive by that time.

It turns out she has sepsis and is gravely ill. She was admitted to the ICU. We have all been at the hospital constantly since this time. She is only 68, but has had a rough time for the last 5 yrs. Chronic back pain from 2 failed back surgeries, trouble with her diabetes. She says she is ready to go. LeAnne's twin Lisa just flew in from NY last night. Her youngest son Drew flew in this early AM from NM - he's in the Air Force. She has said she will hang on to see Drew.

We are a large, close family - Todd has 6 brothers and 1 sister. All but Drew live within 15 miles of his parents. There are 26 grandchildren and the cousins are all like extended siblings.

We support her decision - she has been living in constant pain and has been almost totally house bound. Totally a change from the active , fun person she was. I always felt bad for those with bad mother in laws - I like mine better than my own mother! I am home now to take care of the dogs, and I have Breanna with me to rest. Then we are heading back to the hospital. It is sure to be a long day today.

Thank you everyone.
Today is worse, she is now in renal and liver failure and is starting to have cardiac irregularities. We are just there for her and supporting her the best we can.
She is at peace, and knows we are all there. Yesterday she was more alert and saying her goodbyes.
Thanks for the well wishes. You guys are all wonderful!

Dawn,
Will be praying for your MIL, you and your family. May God give you the strength to continue supporting her during your time of sadness.

I'm glad she was able to say her goodbye's. Though it's painful at the time, it's a blessing for those left behind. It seems to help us accept our loss easier by having some sort of closure, and it's a memory one can treasure a lifetime.

May your MIL go peacefully to be with her Lord, and may He bless, and comfort all of you in His loving arms, today and forever.

Dawn,

I'm so sorry to hear of your Mother in laws situation. You are akll in my heart and prayers!!!
Thanks so much. I logged on Sunday in the hospital and LeAnne and Lisa read all the wonderful things you have said.

We decided to stop all the extra meds Sunday evening - she was at peace and steadily slipping away. We just were going to continue with pain medication.

She died shortly before 11pm Sunday with my father-in-law, all her 8 kids and us spouses, and 24 of the 26 grandkids and her 2 great granddaughters at bedside. The wake is Tuesday and funeral on Wednesday.
I'm so sorry for your loss, but I am very glad that so many were around and that she was at peace with the world.

:ghug:

I am so sorry for your loss. What a blessing, though, that the whole family (almost) was able to be there with her in her last moments. It is really a testament to her character that she was able to build such a strong family. And that must be an amazing feeling for her, too, to be surrounded by so many people, all here on this earth because of her and her love for her husband. :ghug:
I am very sorry for you and your familys loss .
I am sorry that your family is going through this. Your MIL is no longer in pain, and can now rest peacefully. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
I'm sorry for your loss, but God's miracle of life goes on for eternity. How wonderful she must've felt with so much love surrounding her as she entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven.

The wound is fresh now, but as time passes, honor her by remaining as close to one another as you are now.

God bless and be with you all.
