itching during coat change

Have a question dealing with the coat change. Do they itch more during this time? Obe (just turned ten months) has been scratching & biting a lot more the past few weeks. Just curious. He has doesn't fleas or anything like that. I thought that i read that the coat transition itches them a bit.

OK - we wondered this with Bingley but everyone I talked with said that the transition itself shouldn't cause so much itching. It could be anything. Is Obe on Frontline or a similar product? There are a lot more bugs out all of a sudden. Even though I never saw any on Bingley, I applied Frontline a few days before schedule and a day later the itching was gone (hopefully for good). Also, the entire world seems to be blooming right now. If it continues to itch aggressively I would watch his food to make sure it isn't a food allergy. Lots of choices. Hopefully he's just itching his newly developed muscles!! :D
Obe is on Advantix at the moment. We had used Frontline in the past, but decided to try Advantix. When we used Frontline he never had a problem. Might be allergic to Advantix??? I would rule out his food as he has been on the same thing for a while now (thank god).
