LOL... yes, but one who loves a sheepie!
Heather,

I am laughing out loud, cute post. I am sorry you have had to go through so much, but I am glad that Walter has you and you are so dedicated to him. Stormi and co.
It gets worse- wait'll you have 2 legged kids!

High school registration- $57 (x2)
Graphing calculator-$120
Preschool tuition- $35/mo
Ballet slippers-$15
Pointe shoes AND accessories-$90
Ballet/Jazz combo class-$45/mo.

And this is just the things I can remember offhand....
And they are all worth it! Our vet bill this last week was $140.
Still all worth it!

I hope everyone considering getting a puppy sees your post Heather! I think so many don't realize the cost of owning a dog - especially an OES!
Yes - the rewards are priceless - but the process/cost can be painful!

Be thankful you only have 1 and he's been healthy (aside from the temperment issues)!!!! And - just wait til Walter gets old - Brittney's medication costs me $100+ month!!! At least by then - you should be a poor College Graduate!

Kristen
wait till the 2 leggers are my age

grad school : $500 per credit
meal at mcdonald's: $23
sheepdog to keep busy: $800

:-P
Nike Jogging Runners....110 dollars.. for my son but to replace the ones that Merlin chewed.

dunno whom to blame on this one..told the kid never leave your shoes out ...Merlin thought ahhhh a new chew toy.
hahaha... i had to buy my boyfriend a new pair of shoes back in walters shoe chewing stage. he absolutely loves shoes so i gave him two old ones and hes content with those!
Be careful with those pointe shoes Brenda! My husband set my dance bag on the floor one day and the only thing Carl ate out of it was one of each set of point shoes. Apparently they know what the most expensive choices are. He also could have eaten both of a pair and left me the other pair but no.
One of each pair?!?!?! Oh no, I'd better warn my daughter! I'm too clumsy for them to be mine! LOL! Kinda like a sheepie in a tutu!!
How about this one? Adopting a Sheepie you know very little about:
Day One:
Trip to Vet for bath: $110.00 (Not just for the bath, but since you can't prove they have had their shots, get to get them all over again)

Three Days Later:
Call from Vet saying your baby has heart worms. Need to put weight on him before treatment. Trip to store to find something to help gain weight, approximately $ 50.00 later......

Three Weeks Later:
Trip to Vet for treatment: $350.00 for treatment. Not to mention several follow up visits.

Now: Kisses, hugs and handshakes are priceless.

I guess I do not need to stress to anyone here how important that heartworm preventative is but I said it anyway. My poor baby went through so much during that six weeks that he was pretty much in solitairy confinement! No running, no getting too excited, etc. It wasn't easy on Mom, Dad or MamMaw either.
Betsy,

I'm sure your baby is grateful that you rescued him! I hate to think of what could have happened to him if it was determined he had heartworm before you rescued him. It's hard to believe there are still people out there that don't use heartworm preventative faithfully.

Hope he's feeling better now!

Kristen
Hey Heather,

Just wanted to say that I am sure things are going to turn around very soon with Walter. I think he's going to realize that he's very lucky to have you as a mom. Thanks for all of your patience and endurance because there are not too many people out there that would be willing to invest the time, money & energy like you have been.

What is your major in college?
cost of 2 sheepies 3000.00
second and third shots, dewormings check ups in first 4 months 400.00
advantage flea drops for 6 month supply 120.00

I should stop now before my husband sees this....
