Sheepdog play + Loving human = Bruises

As we all know, our dogs like to play and sometimes play rough...even when the dont mean to, they get us pretty good...

Panda is a rough player and loves to nip and jump at me when we play...obviously it doesnt bother me too much, because I continue to let her do it....

I was just wondering how many others let their dogs play hard and what bruises, scars or other antic stories are out there....

Picture of the latest Panda bruising soon to follow....hint hint..

lol....at first i thought that was the lighting.....good to know im not the only one! :D
Ouch!!!
Take lots of pictures!!!

Ouch! You let Panda get away with that rough housing because she's a petite lil thing. If Bailey played like that I'd be in the hospital. All we have to worry about is the occasional herding head butt.
Two things.

1) I've been trying to figure out exactly what part of the body I'm looking at, and
2) Those look like granny underwear with tassles or something.

Joan insists someone is holding up a sheet of some sort for modesty.

Fess up.
It's a skirt with embellishment at the bottom.
My vote is left upper arm - and its a shirt.....with trim. :D
I got a similar bruise on my thigh a few months back when Pepsi launched himself off my leg and over the top of the grooming table. 8O
I'll have to upload it...
Here's my OES bruise, taken with the cell phone. The picture does not do it any justice at all. It was like Maroon, Purple and Blue 8O

I would like to submit my guess for the game of what is in Darcy's picture. I think she was sitting at a table when she took the picture, the lower half of her leg is top left, her thigh is what's in the lower portion of the photo and this is where the bruise resides. Lol.

Fred likes to impede the stairs in our house as I walking down them and attack my feet. I have tried to explain to him several times that I do not enjoy this particular game. One time I was walking down the stairs holding my daughter with about five steps to go and Fred darted in front of me. I fell down five steps but managed to shield my daughter from the fall. I do not have photos of the fall but, my backside was quite bruised after this incident.

We also play a great deal of soccer together and Fred gets very physical after I steal the ball from him. As I am dribbling away with the ball he always busts out the textbook sheepie leg wrap move. I have yet to fall when he wraps one of his front paws around my leg in an effort to trip me.

Does anyone have a photo of this sheepie move that could be posted in the thread so that everyone is aware of it if they fall victim to the move? I am certain many of us have injuries related to this paw wrap.
I had a cool paw shaped bruise on my upper arm last summer. You could even see the where the nails were.

Very classy.

Ha ha ha! That's what I thought at first too. But then I realized it was Darcy we're looking at and there's no WAY she'd wear granny panties...or at least let them be broadcast on the internet. Then I knew it was a skirt :D

I've had MANY bruises between Barney and Maggie. Maggie I think more because she played rougher. Barney doesn't do much besides step on your feet (which hurts enough for me!).

Darcy, that looks painful!

And Elissa--I can see the claw marks...that looks really painful!
Jill was the closest...it was a dress with beaded embelishment at the bottom....granny undies....i think NOT! besides the fact WHY would i post THAT???????

the bruise is on the inside of my right thigh just above the knee...i now have another one on my left leg just below my knee...the new one is from the paw wrap...i wish someone would get a picture of that death grip

Could have looked bad if someone walked in on you taking that picture!
No one spoke about the common sheepie ran over your foot bruise. I had one just show up on the top of my foot recently. I think it was Winston's ghost...don't know how it happened.

I will be looking forward to the new bruises from the new puppy. Life is so much more colorful with an OES.

Yeah, like she'd keep her underwear on for a picture?

It was :( I still have not attempted to help him onto the Grooming table since that happened. I also messed up my back really bad that day.

or the toenail dig into a bare foot

For decency sake I'll keep the boob bruise photos off OES.org. Nothing like sleeping soundly and have a sheepdog step on your boobs.
OMG OUCH!!!!! 8O

So far this year Darcy you have spent most of it Black & Blue......

Maybe Ron is right!

When we were fostering Winston, I used to have to put him on a leash just to get him to go to the crate (wasn't that he didn't like it-- he just liked to bound all over the house all the time). So, I had him leashed, and we have a gate with a cat door and a human door (Harley has a taste for kitty litter) that we had to go through, and just as I was in the doorway, Winston decides to lunge into his crate, pulling me down and into the bolt on the gate-- OUCH! I don't cuss often, but I did then. Biggest bruise, I think, that I've ever had in my life.

Incidentally, I joked with my husband that I was going to take pictures in case I had to prove abuse later. :) That bruise is just now going away, and it's been about a month.
