Daisy UK Pyometra Update

Daisy had her second scan this morning to see if the antibiotics, combined with the twice daily injections of prostoglandin, had contracted her uterus down to a more normal size. Unfortunately there was very little change on the scan from last week even though Daisy is a lot brighter in herself. She is eating more now and the vet considers she is strong enough for the spay surgery so that's what is happening tomorrow. Although she should be able to withstand the anaesthetic now it is still a worrying time. I asked the vet if he could fit her with a zip as its the 4th surgery on her tummy in six months but he just laughed!

She goes in at 8.40am Wednesday so please keep fingers and paws crossed for her that all will be well.

Good luck. She'll be in all of our thoughts.
Wishing the very best for Daisy and looking forward to a successful outcome. . . Your vet sounds very sensible and methodical, which is exactly what you need.

Hang in there!!
All thoughts and prayers will be with Daisy tomorrow. :ghug:
Best wishes and good luck to your Daisy tomorrow.

Good luck to Daisy tomorrow.

The word pyometra brings tears to my eyes, based on past experience, so I'll be thinking of Daisy in the morning.

Just had the call from the Vets and the op all went well and Daisy is now coming round from the anaesthetic!! YAY - I can breathe again now! He said we made the right decision as (in his words) there was still a 'lot of stuff' in there to come out! We can pick her up at 3.30 this afternoon - can't wait!

Have a fantastic time both of you at the sheepie day, extra hugs all around too for daisy. :D
How is Daisy doing today?
Today Daisy seems much more like my Daisy Girl! I've even got her eating out of her dish instead of hand feeding her - what a breakthroughImage

We went for a (very slow!) walk, just a little way but she was sniffing all the trees and being so normal it was lovely! Her back legs are a little stiff but the vets had warned me she might be like that for a couple of days. Back tomorrow for a check up.

My house feels so 'normal' again and I'm not following her round with baby wipes everytime she moves! Wonderful!

Thanks for asking!
That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you and Daisy!!

Give her a hug from me. :hearts:
