UGH scanning

Have you ever done a monotonous chore so much that your head begins to almost black out? I'm there - scanning pictures for our school's closing program!!!!!

I enjoy monotonous tasks sometimes. As long as I'm comfortable I find it can be very head clearing just to be involved in the task, finding the best way to do it most efficiently and then just doing it and seeing the progress made.

The hardest one I ever took on was the initial transcribing of Name, Address and Telephone number, by street, for every house in town for the local art center.

About 2,100 of'em, each double checked, letter by letter :D
I set up a program to prefill the street name in each one from the previous one, so that except when the street changed I only needed to enter the name and phone number.

OK, it was painful at times... but I was given lifetime membership to the center. I haven't been since, and it was about 12 years ago

Good luck with the scanning!
Scanning is dulldulldull. To me, photocopying is mind numbing. Unfortunately I've discoverd I cannot multi-task and cannot think about anything else when I'm doing a dull job or I'll screw it up.
UGH. I know what you mean!

At a past job I had to stuff envelopes...fold, stuff, lick, stick on address. Fold, stuff, lick, stick on address. FOREVER!!!
What I hate about scanning is... when a pic you are scanning doesn't go through or is interrupted because you did something stupid ...usually in an attempt to make things go faster, ...so you have to start over.

I feel for you. I HATE scanning more than a few pics/documents.
Wahooo - it's done! It took over four straight hours, but it is done! Oh - and Mrs. J I did have to start over a few times . . .

Here's to monotony!
