Liquid Glucosamine

For all of you that give glucosamine to your dogs, do any of you use the liquid form? I'm about to start Lucy on it because I know that pills are not going to work for her so I'm trying to choose a liquid but it seems like there are a lot of choices and all seems so similar short of an herb or extract.

Does anyone have any recommendation?

Yep, sure do! Mandy turned me on to this product. Drez has been on it for over a year now, and I really do see a difference in her. It's not a cure, of course, but it truly helps.

Flexicose is a liquid glucosamine/chondroitin. I put 1/4 tsp on Drez's food once a day (it goes by body weight) and a bottle usually lasts me 2 months. It's about $30/bottle but if you buy 3 bottles, there's no shipping charge and sometimes they give you a discount just for purchasing 3 bottles. I turned a friend who has a St. Bernard with hip dysplasia on to it and she says she see's a remarkable improvement, too.

They make a Flexicose supplement for humans, too. And actually, if you look at the ingredients, they're exactly the same as the animal version. My friend ordered the human version by mistake the first time, called the company and they said that the two are basically interchangeable - won't hurt either species if they take the product of the other. :lmt:

Anyway, check out their website at www.flexicose.com. Good luck to Lucy! :ghug:
We do! We give Barney about a tablespoon on top of his food. It is berry flavored and I don't know if he likes it, but he eats it!

We get ours from Costco and it is for humans. I don't know if it helps him or not, as we are mostly doing it as a preventative measure for his hips. I tried the pasting the link but it got really long. If you go to costco.com and search for glucosamine, you should get 11 results and the one we use is Joint Movement Liquid Glucosamine/Chondroitin 33.8 Ounces - $4.00 Off With MSM and Collagen

It comes in a blue and red and yellow bottle.
Cool, thanks. I'll check those out.
We put a liquid Gluco/Chond on Rebecca's food. It is Raspberry flavored and she has no problem with it. We just buy it in the people vitamin section of CVS. We also give all of our dogs Flax Seed oil capsules for the Omega 3 oils and just throw them in their food. They eat them right up too.
I get mine to from a health shop a chon/gluco liquid. Works the same as they sell in pet shops but half the price here and probably better quality too as fit for human consumption.

I also give "cold pressed flax seed oil" for the omega benefits as well.
How much of the flaxseed oil to you give?
In the actual oil, 1tsp over there dinner.
