If 1 more thing gets put on my todo list I am going to SNAP

So my husband and I are taking both our sets of parents on a cruise up to Alaska. My parents are having their 35th anniversary and my husbands parents are in their 70s. So we thought it would be an easy fun thing to to for them.

Well Lee's father cut off two of his fingers and had to have surgery on the other two and stitches galore including on his thumb. (He made sure to do a good job and got every finger.) They are still planning on coming but we will know for sure when they look at his fingers again on Tuesday.

Our washing machine broke down again mysteriously for the 3rd time so we got a new set this week end and it won't be delivered until Wednesday. So I will have a day and a half to wash all our laundry before we leave.

There are a million and one things we have to do before we leave.

Our parents are driving up together and in our opinion they are all scary drivers. I'm am going to freak out if they get all the way their and then forget their Birth certificates.

How I wish it was Friday already so that everything that needs to be done is done and it isn't hanging over my head anymore. I am so stressed out that I am going to NEED this vacation. Usually when we go away I am never this stressed. I think adding the parents to the mix upped it a level since I have to worry about them.

**Telling myself to take a deep breath.**

OMG! 8O wow, cut OFF fingers????!!!! Tough guy to still be up for the trip!

Where in Alaska will you be going ashore? I can give you some suggestions of cool stuff to do/see, and maybe we can even meet up for a sheepie-fix for you! 8)
I'm sorry for all your troubles and stress!!!! Goodness knows planning ONE trip is enough to worry about, but you sure have more than a handful!!

i hope it all turns out to be enjoyable! Being with the parents or in-laws for any extended period can be hard. 8)

HAHAHA isn't that the truth. How can you love them so much but then be in the room with them for a couple of hours and want to tear your hair out????? I think it should go good though. Since there are different things to do on a ship we hope that everyone can do their own thing and still get in plenty of family visiting.

Now if I can just get over this fear that they are all going to die in a horrible car accident on the way to the cruise. 8O

Ravenmoonart--Thanks for the offer. We are going up to Juneau where my sister lives. My parents are besides themselves because they get to see their grandbaby again. They seem to have no idea where the boat is going to stop except for Juneau because of the baby. My husband was like " what do you mean they only know we are going to Juneau? Didn't they read the cruise packet that was sent them detailing the stops?????" My husband and I have actually been to the other towns before so we are planning on taking it a little more easy this trip. 8)

Cool! Juneau is one of my most favorite places! 8) Be sure to pop into Nor'Westerly Art Gallery (on the docks) to take a peek at some of my newest work

I've found that the older parents get, the more they become like your children. I'm always chasing my mom around to make sure she doesn't touch hot burners or play with sharp objects. My dad has always been a child so no major transition there!
Did you hear the news about the cruise ship in or going to Juneau the other day? Yikes! Hopefully you guys aren't on the same ship, but it looks like all the problems have been fixed. ;)
Yeah I heard about the ship. I'm surprised my Dad hasn't called me up all worried. It's not the ship we are going on. I believe we are going on the Princess Cruise Line. Hopefully they can keep their boats from grounding.

We picked the Princess line because of it being less formal. I have country homebody parents who are NOT fancy. (Going on the cruise is kinda way out of their comfort zone.) Then Lee's Mom loves fancy things so she was talking about renting tux's for her husband and my father 8O 8O 8O . SIGH. What happened to the casual plan??

That is so funny. I don't feel like I have to chase mine around but they do get flustered very easy with anything out of the ordinary. With Lee's parents they just retell stories over and over you have heard a thousand times. They have this bread story that they tell in minute detail every time we see them. Doesn't matter if you tell them you have already heard it. I have heard it so many times that I almost start laughing when they tell it :?

I think something must happen to you when you get older. Oh well, when I get old I shall do my best to traumatize the youthful generation! "Oh aren't you a sweet one. Come over here so Auntie can squeeze your hot little tush. RaaaHAHAHAHA"
My family sent my grandparents on a cruise to Alaska - princess line. They LOVED it. You should have a ball as soon as you leave!

I love the Princess Cruise Line and the Princess Lodges. The lodges were like a different world. BEST place we've stayed at so far in AK. LOVED it!
