what a sucker!!!

I had a knock on my door this morning. A good friend from the animal shelter came to visit. She brought a very small box with her. Anyone care to guess what was in it?

4 more kittens. We still have three from the last bunch we brought home in June. We think they are from the same mom. Does anyone know how old they are when their eyes open. I'm not sure of their age but there eyes are most of the way open.
My son and I fed the babies and then he talked me into going garage saling. had a great time lots of back to school clothes. On the way home saw one of the police officers pick up a very small dog. (pom i think) SUCKER that I am stopped and offered to foster for a couple of day to see if anyone calls on her. (not sure how long anymore Neville doesn't like her)
We now have 4 dogs and 8 cats.
I think I going insane. Maybe I'm already there.
Oh well Life goes on.

Wow! Sounds like my house, but only 2 dogs, but the 4 kids and 4 adult cats, 5 kittens, and 4 adult guinea pigs and 3 baby guinea pigs as well!
Kittens usually open their eyes around 10 days, some earlier some later. Cleo's litter is just beginning to open their eyes, they are 9 days old.
I hope you are able to find the little dogs' owners! Good luck! :)
Thanks Willow. I realy wanted to know how old they are. Good new about the little dog though. If know one claimes her I already foun a possible home for her. :D

What are you feeding the kittens? If their eyes are just opening they need to be on kitten formula, KMR is the best one, and bottle fed or use a dropper but be careful they don't aspirate it. If they don't feed that way you may have to tube feed, and unless you have done it before you will have to get the vet to show you how, it is not a pleasant thing to do, and very dangerous if not done properly. Let me know if you need any help with them! :)
we're feeding them goat milk today but a friend is bringing formula from the next town over tomorrow. Not sure what brand. We're using a dropper to feed them as the last kittens chewed throught the nipples before I could finish weening them. They are bringing more nipples too. They are eating good. My son does most of it. I just help out when needed. As school starts it will be alot of helping out.
The last four were abut the same age when we got them I think. Their eyes were about the same as for as opening.
We're hoping they finally set a trap for the mom so there will be no more babies.
any tips for us?

Cher,

Good for you on fostering those babies...your family is doing something wonderful. I am in the same position trying to trap a mom and her babies to get them vaccinated and all fixed....the problem is now....I haven't seen them for about 2-3 days now. They were around all the time and eating cat food from us, but now they are not. I am hoping they are all ok and someone else is feeding them. I am not giving up yet, I will leave the food out and hope for the best in trapping them. I wish you all the luck raising the babies, I hope they all go to good homes or are able to stay with you. Stormi and co.
