Runny stool while on walks, but firm at home?

Ever since Obe was young if we go on a short walk it seems his stool is a bit runny. When he is in the back yard they are firm. He can play for hours and they are fine. If we go for a walk they seems to get a bit messy and the walks have to be cut short as we have to go and clean the backside. They other day we went to the park to hang out and play and he used to bathroom 2 times within 30 minutes. Just seems weird that when he is in the backyard things are fine. He gets fed natures logic dry kibble dog food and does great on it, stools are firm and small. Just wondering if any one else has ever had this problem?

Seems relatively normal to me. Perhaps the stress of being on a walk is affecting him. Maggie always goes more often when she is active and the activity/frequency generally result in looser stools over time. Being short-haired and a deep squatter, it doesn't make a mess on her, so that is lucky. Maybe instead of cutting his walks short, you could bring along some baby wipes to clean his bum and keep going.
He is probably a bit anxious when he's walking due to the fact of smelling other dogs...etc
Pepsi always has firm poops....except if we go to the dog park, then it is always runny. I think it's nerves and the smells of other dogs.
Edgar does excited poo (which is soft or runny) on walks and any outings. Otherwise he is fine. Its a bit irritating trying to scrap up runny messes but it is just him. I wouldn't worry about it.
Sounds normal, brie was like that as a youngster, the over excitement at being out and about.

Vals suggestion of baby wipes on a walk is a good one
Yup......What I pick up in the back yard is always formed and firm...What I pick up in the dog park or on walks...well....is not..... :?
I say it sounds like a nervous/stress/excited thing too. My puppy has the same problem...but not n walks...only during puppy class! 8O He runs around with the other puppies, then we start class and within a few minutes, well...embarassing  But nw that we've been attending school a few weeks, it has finally stopped...
My little darling always poops so much when we are on walks, that it starts to run, i have had him for 2.1/2 years he is 6 now and it has never changed, we just got use to it, and bring the baby wipes with us at all times
Simon the basset is always that way. When we are at shows or on trips, or at the dog park his poop gets progressively more runny/mucousy. Those of you at Sheepiepalooza will get to witness it personally! He even gets to the point of squatting, with nothing coming out - I call it the "dry heaves of poop". 8O
My first ever OES , Frank & Haggis are all the same way. I think they just get/got so excited when they go for a walk it effects their gastro tracks. (((I always have paper towels & baby wipes handy too.... )))
