WW, disheartened, not discouraged

I have done very well on Weight Watchers...in fact, I think remarkable. Last week, I was down 27.6 pounds, and so, being very close to the 30 pound mark, I really was "perfect" this week....and I added an extra workout to my routine to insure I hit the 30 mark.

I went, weighed in, and GAINED 1.6 pounds!!! EEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What happened????

My "leader" was wonderful about it. She asked if I use any of my 35 free points, and I don't. And as I've lost weight, I've recheck what my proper points should be, lowering them as necessary.

She told me not be discouraged (I'm not)...and that perhaps, I need to add some points back, because my body (between weight loss and extra exercise) maybe "holding on". She's assured me, this was NOT fat weight gain. She told me to start varying my foods, and of course start eating a couple more points a day.

Sigh....I was so sure I'd hit 30 this week. I am not discouraged. I won't chuck it all because of all of this. I'm just sorta pissed at my body!

On a very sweet note, at the end of the meeting, an elderly woman came up to me, and reassured me not to worry. This, apparently, had happened to her one week when she was extra careful too.

So...I'm really here just to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening!

Don't get discouraged Deb.
I had hit a plateau too, but just found out that I lost another 3 lbs. :yay:
Cancun here I come....... okay, still in a one piece bathing suit though.
Oh! Your trip is coming up soon! When do you leave?
2 weeks!! :excited:
Deb, don't worry. Weight loss comes in waves sometimes. When you need to lose a lot, it is easier to come off, but once you have lost a good amount (which you have!!) then it gets harder for your body to want to lose the rest. I agree...you should vary your diet a little and 'shock' it into action!
You are doing great. Keep up the good work!

In addition to varying your diet, try to increase your
exercise.

I have found Gilad's Quick Fit system of dvds helpful.
You can mix and match the workouts.
I use it more in the winter when I can not walk outside
due to the wild weather.

Find a fitness program/programs you enjoy and
stick with it!

(Or... you could always join my Zumba class :D )
Hey Deb,

The longer it takes to lose the weight the less loose skin you will have hanging. I think that would be GOOD news.

We are PROUD of you! :yay:
Deborah, you are doing great!!!! I know that on the weeks where I had minor weight setbacks, I tended to lose a large amount the following week, so next week will probably surprise you.

You loooooooooook MAHVELOUS!!!!!!!!

Laurie, Angelo and Oscar
Don't forget about your water, a good flush of salt, etc can shed some of those pds too. Time of month too, holds on the pds a little??

You're doing great tho, and everyone has their setbacks.
don't let it get you down. just stick with it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!
I know its hard i've gone from 240lbs to 185lbs (im about 5ft 1in) and have a long way to go still.
Cher! That's fabulous!

I've been on track all week, so it will be interesting at the weigh in tomorrow.

HOWEVER! I won't be back for 3 weeks. I will be going on vacation, and..well...I will really try, but I will have some really delightful meals.

You should really be proud of yourself!! That is a great accomplishment!

 :clappurple: :go:  :clappurple: :go:
You won't be here for 3 weeks?????? That is just plain wrong!

Actually I'll miss 5/12 and 5/19, I'll be back for the 5/26 meeting.

Yepper, goin' home to Mallary Square and my fellow Conchs!!!! We will be there from 5/12-5/21, and then Sanibel Island 5/21-5/24.

Its funny, after all these years, when we go (back) to Key West, we really do feel like we're going home!!
 Take me with you....?
We have a 2 bedroom suite. You and Joan should make some plane reservations!!!!!

In fact...anyone can crash with us! We have floors and couches too!!

(If Tony read this, he'd kill me!)
Oh, I'd have to take Joan?

Joan has plane tix for tomorrow -- to your neck of the woods.
