So we started crating Truman again when we leave because he tore the couch apart a few days ago.

the question is...... do other peoples sheepies act like a frickin maniac when they are let out of the crate when you get home.
He doesnt do anything wrong just ridiculously excited and running around the house like a lunatic. pretty funny to watch.

I guess it could be because he is only 1 yr old.

what do you folks think?
well, lets put this way...panda is almost 4 and she still does that..... Shocked
Personally, I like to think that Izzie is so excited that I am home that she can't contain herself Very Happy
Chewie runs straight to the door and is a major wiggle butt.
Maggie (the coonhound) runs around like Truman. She is a little over 1 year old.
All the dogs that I have had that were crated always tore out of their crates like Bats out of hell, as soon as I opened the door.
Though the usually just ran for the back door to be let out.
Bailey comes up leaping and wiggling too. Then depending on how long we've been gone, heads straight to the back door!
Harley does the same thing-- he prances in place, picking his paws up and down one at a time. Smile

One thing that helps, though, is we don't always go straight to the crate-- especially if he's barking or something, we ignore him for a few minutes and then go over. He always still prances and does his wigglebutt, so we tell him to "settle" along with giving him a hand motion (whatever signal is natural for you), and we wait until he stops the prancing. We then let him out, and he still scrambles out and to the door (we always potty him after being crated), but he's much less excited than when we don't first make him calm down.

I secretly love that he's so excited to see me-- but I know allowing him to go crazy isn't what's best for him, so that's something that has helped us.
In the mornings Bingley just lays there for a little bit and then slowly comes out and streeeeettches all over the place. In the afternoon he's a wild man!!! Laughing
Obe does the samething as he is excited to see me and he wants out to play. Imagine if you were locked inside a room all day and eight hours later someone let you out. They are the same way. They want to go out and use the bathroom which they have been holding and then they want some love and playtime with you.
