Getting together!

Ok, I am making this official: Who wants to get together for a BBq or picnic in the tristate area? Bring your sheepies, food, friends! Summer is almost over! I would love to meet sheepie lovers in the neighborhood! What do you all think? A place well known like Central Park, or Prospect Park in Brooklyn? Anybody? Somebody?

I wish I could make it Marley, that sounds like so much fun! I used to live in Reading, PA and a few other smaller towns during my few years there. If only I was closer. I feel the same as you though, I would love for us all to be able to get together and have a wonderful time with our sheepies. We even have a younger one, probably about 8 months old now in our neighborhood, but the other sheepie didn't seem to like ours. BUT, the dog was also intact just like Jack is, so that might of been what it was about.
I hope soon that my family will take a vacation in a few months, maybe we can head that way and plan a meet with our fur families.
I hope you find some others to meet with, it sounds like a blast. Stormi and co.
I would love to go, and NY is not that far from me. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 1st though, and shortly after that the snow will be falling, here anyway....
Next summer though, I will definitely make some plans to meet some of the wonderful people in person that I have met here! :)
I was thinking doing it the last week in August, or something like that. Its almost here so if we are going to do it, we have to hurry! Come on, people! No one wants to get together with our sheepie friends?! :?
Come on!!!! No one but Stacey is considering this!!! Ohhh, so disapointed!
I wish I was closer!!! Bella is only the second sheepie I have ever seen. The last one, Arthur, was at least 10 years ago. :( still miss him and he wasn't even ours just a friend of the family
I hope everything works out for you all.
HAVE FUN!!

Still no sheepie here yet...but working on it. Funny enough, spoke with Sheila Kenyon in NJ a few days ago about a 1 yr old named Harley, but he went back to the breeder. My problem is I am dog sitting for my mother in law's Bichon for the next 2 weeks so anything that happens during that time may take some careful introducing to a visiting doggie and our cat......

But I digress! I know of at laest a half dozen sheepies exist within a 5 mile radius of where I live--2 for sure in Livinston that were rescued, but tough to find these people and get them on this forum!
Well, I guess this isn't gonna happen. Oh well, too bad. We were walking Mopsey today, and saw another sheepdog in our neighborhood!!!! His name is Oliver, and he was HUGE and beautiful! Mopsey got a little scared 'cause he hopped over to her and was very rumbunctious (sp). It was amazing to see what they look like grown up. So beautiful! The family that had him said that this is the first time in 6 years they have seen another sheepie in NY. Wow! :D
I think I met Oliver too! Does he and his owner live in Brooklyn Heights? Too bad I don't have a Sheepie yet - if I did I would definitely meet up with you.

I am looking to adopt probably in the next year - do you have any recommendations for a breeder not too far from NYC?
