Corn gluten

Looks like this is never going to stop....
The latest to be added is corn gluten, Royal Canine and Vets Choice are listed but so far only in South Africa. I'm betting that will change.
Melamine tainted, again imported from China.

This is just getting more and more a nightmare, you know here we have had no information on any recalls on the magnitude of different drys already listed and being recalled and yes some of the brands listed on the recall list is imported in from the states, still waiting to hear of any alarm going off here, but as usual we will be the last to know anything.

Now Royal Canin in South Africa, well I will be forwarding on this information to heaps, it might only be South Africa at the moment but who knows now with what is happening. I have friends that feed that brand to there sheepies, sending off e-mails this afternoon with this newest link.

Thanks to all who have been on top of this with all the tainted foods, thanks stacey also for the latest update.
I had to buy dog food today. I was so nervous, but read the labels and their are no types of glutens in it, or rice proteins.
Still it has made the simple task of buying food a very scary situation.
Pro Plan Large Breed puppy has corn gluten as it's 3rd ingredient. Wonder where they got it from?
More contamination info... this time it's hogs.

In California, state agriculture officials placed a hog farm under quarantine after melamine was found in pig urine there. Additional testing was under way to determine whether the chemical was present in the meat produced by American Hog Farm in Ceres since April 3, the state Department of Food and Agriculture said.

So far, melamine's been found in both wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate imported from China. Media reports from South Africa suggest a third pet food ingredient, corn gluten, used in that country also was contaminated with melamine. That tainted ingredient has not been found in the United States, the FDA said.
