Blue's Running and Jumping!!!

Hey everyone!

Just an update on Ole Blue. You may remember I was very concerned as even though Blue is 18, he suddenly struggled to get up and within a matter of days had started declining from his otherwise active self.

I ordered a sling for him and had blood work done to see if he could handle Medacam as he'd been on Glucosamine for some time.

Sure enough as most members here said I'd see an improvement within days. It happened!!!!!!

He's running, jumping up on his dog bed and even tried to get onto my lap several times (Blue never does that !!!)

Yeah!!!!! So now he's back to rough housing with Merlin and running with his funny gait but I have my Ole boy back!!!
:yay:

:D :D Yay Blue! Yay drugs!
Great news! :)
YAY BLUE go boy go. :yay: Wonderful stuff eh?

Metacam is a oral Anit-inflammatory suspension for dogs. For the alleviation of inflammation and pain in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.

Similar to Rimadyl but not as harsh and not the side effects that rimadyl can cause.

You must be so relieved and excited for blue marianne, I certainly am  :D Great news.
Fantastic news! Run Blue Run! So glad the medicine is helping him. :cheer:
Go BLUE! :cheer:
Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Stacy and Tall Turtle - Before Medacam is given the vet does blood work as it's a bit hard on the liver. Thus, the blood test determine if their body can handle it. He's also on Vegemitin..(think that's the name.) Mama Kat was also on it - as this gives them the extra boost needed if their blood count shows anemia. Blue was a bit low but not so much that the vet was concerned about but taken as a precaution.

Wow what a difference a week makes!!!

The dosage depends on the weight of the canine or feline but as it's only by vet perscription they tell you the right dosage - given by syringe in liquid form. I place it over his food as Blue never has problems finishing every single item in his bowl. Same with the Vegemitin.

The sling arrived when Blue no longer needs it, but I'm sure I will get a chance to use it sadly enough as Panda ages. He has hip dysplasia in both hips although he is doing fine at the moment with Glucosamine.
