Sheepdog in OK

I saw this dog on petfinder, I have just fallen in love with him because he is unique. Do many sheepdogs have this coloring or is he probably mixed with something else? He looks like Wicket the Ewok off of star wars. Anyway I was thinking of giving them a call.

Ah it now has a banner that says I have now been adopted. But still I am curious about the coloring.
He might be part sheepdog......he looks more like a terrier mix....still a cutie tho
I think he is very cute, but to me he doesnt look like he has an ounce of old english sheepdog in him :? For a male he seems too small, his facial structure isnt sheepdog and the coloring is off.....

but he is a doll!
He is definitely a mix. Glad someone decided to adopt him.

I agree with Darcy, doesn't look like an OES at all.
I don't even think the dog resembles a OES either.
Did you see what they wrote: "We usually think of Sheepdogs as being white or light gray with white, but they can also have darker gray/black like Charlie." Really? Is there a new definition of a Old English Sheepdog somewhere saying that they don't need to have white on them??? Um, yes they can be dark gray and black, but they still need to have the white...... Or am I mistaken? :?
I definitely thought that was a characteristic but I thought maybe I was wrong.
I just think with his color and his size that whatever breed he is I don't think sheepdog when I see him. But hey that's just my opinion. :?

Ditto, I don't think there is any sheepdog in him.

Terrier mix...

No, we think of them as being gray and white, because OES are gray and white! He's a cutie but where in the heck do they come up with this stuff? They have access to the same internet the rest of the world does. One look to a breed site would tell them differently!
I agree with Amber, Charlie is cute. He looks like he would be alot of fun, even if he isn't a sheepie. Maybe he is a sheepie at heart.
Oh, there is no question that this guy is a cutie!!!

Maybe he is a sheepdog at heart, but I was just commenting that the lil guy doesnt look like a sheepdog at all....I actually thought they had the headings wrong till I read further down and they described his ''unique'' sheepdog coloring 8O
He is a cutie, but definately absolutely not an ounce of OES in him.

Looking at his coat, he definately is some sort of Terrier cross by the coarse coat and the structure of him.
I have always been confused about the color issue too. The AKC website says:

Color
Any shade of gray, grizzle, blue or blue merle with or without white markings or in reverse. Any shade of brown or fawn to be considered distinctly objectionable and not to be encouraged.

But I have never seen a photo of one that was definately a pure OES without white? I have tried to find one since our foster, mix, Watson, has no white.
they told me derby was an pure oes NOT when i got him home and SAW HIS WEBB FEET i soon realized he was my combo boy!! makes me love him more
He's very cute and definitely not an OES. He has a lot of Cairn Terrier in him. Looks like Toto from "The Wizard of Oz."
Yes you are right he does, maybe a cross between Toto and Wickett the Ewok! :)

That's a perfect description-- but not Wickett. My sister and I both has the Ewok stuffed animals, I had Wickett but she had the one that looked like this guy. I can find the name but it looked just like this: Gray/Black Ewok
Ah yes you are correct. I cannot remember the name of that one....
