Cabin Cam Alert

I've got Maggie and Chumley boarding at Alameda East this week because I am moving. Just 3 blocks away but still it is good to have them safely stowed away while all the hustle and bustle occurs. They received the best, most enthusiastic greeting when they arrived. Carrie and Tammy were impressed with Chumley's muscle tone. They are going to put her through her paces this week -- a mini-tune up.

You can see them here:
http://www.aevh.com/animallodge/al_cabincams.asp

Username and password are cabin3. Right now, they are sleeping. Chum's head is forward off the mat. Silly girl.

Oh -- and if you are curious about me, my physical therapist says I am sailing through rehab. My range of motion, lack of pain, and general strength and mobility are all excellent. Woo hoo!

OMG Chummie kicked Maggie onto the floor. Man she's a bed hog huh?

I just got an up close picture of Maggie's nostrils.  And still Chummie is hogging the bed.

I told you it was muscle and not fat

Hope your move goes smoothly.
Glad to hear you are recovering well.... How do you feel?
Chummie is sound asleep and Maggie is laying down but looking up at noises I guess. That is really nice to be able to check on them!

Good news on rehab Chummie, errr I mean Val. You are doing so good I got you confused with another patient.

Oh yeah. What Chummie wants, Chummie gets. This morning Ziggi came over and she routinely tears through the house looking for abandoned treats. Today, there was a standoff over a stray kneecap. Chum growled and looked fierce and both Maggie and Ziggi quietly backed away. . . Get away from the kneecap!
Maggie is sitting up now!

Oh crap, this is going to be addicting!

I feel pretty good. My bone keeps feeling stronger and more secure. I am supposed to be using one crutch but around the house, I've can walk around pretty well without a crutch but I still need one when I've been sitting for a while because my leg gets stiff. And if I do alot of walking, it gets achy. I still have to do stairs one foot at a time and hills and uneven surfaces are tricky. I will be working on that once I am full weight bearing at the end of this week.

And Maggie will be in daycare this week too! Loads of fun for the viewing audience. :D
They have trade places now. Chummie is walking around now - she looks FANTASTIC Val! :go:
Nah, she's still hogging the bed.

I am getting a view of Maggie's butt  Is she really that muscular or is it just the camera adding pounds?
Maggie is super muscular. She is completely cut and really strong - especially her thighs. Even the Vet was commenting on it.
Harry has totally ripped thighs too Val! I can't wait for him to play with Maggie when you come to Sheepiepalooza. I always thought she would be the perfect playmate for him. I might have to keep her.
How great to be able to watch them while their staying at the lodge.
Got the girls qued up on the computer, my patients and I are keeping track of them today!!!

Happy MOVING!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Ginny! I expect my computer will be out of commission a day or so, so I am counting on you guys to fill me in on how things are for them.
Looks like Mags is barking at the moment!!!
Right now (9:35 EDT) Chum is the only one in the cabin. And I must say - those beds are WAY cool!! They look SO comfy!!

So glad to hear you bought a house - I'm assuming you bought a house, right?

Seems you're as amazing at your rehab as Chum was/is! Keep up the good work, friend! :ghug:
10:35 EDT and Chum is still the only one in there. She is sleeping, but her head pops up occasionally when she hears a noise (I presume). Oh wait, she just left.
hmm... the camera should follow them! Where did she go? Now I am all curious and I'm going to have to keep watching to see when she comes back!
And, by the way, I agree - those beds look super comfy! Are those their beds from home, Val? Or do those belong to the kennel? I'm thinking that looks like a good place for my mid-morning nap!
Alll right!! I was wondering what I was going to do to keep from getting bored at work this week!

Really glad to hear you're progressing so well, too, Val. Happy Moving! Did you buy a house in the same neighborhood?
Isn't that Maggie in Playroom 2?
thats the coolest thing!!
3:20 MDT, the girls are asleep, Chum has the high bed.....or is that Maggie. The top one is gazing out the door, "Wish I was outside." The big pillow looks comfy......I could use a nap too.
Chum is on the high bed sleeping and Maggie is looking around from the floor!
7:03 pm CST Both dogs awake. Chummie laying on comfortable mattress. Maggie on the cot. Both looking around. Must be nap time now.
The girls are walking around now. Maggie stuck her face right up in the camera.
Just checked in on the dogs, they are so cute! I would love one of these for my home!
Awwwwwww! They are laying on the bed together!

I agree Shellie I need one of these for my home so I can watch Harry sleep all day.
It is tax season. I work in a CPA firm as a Financial Services Officer. I am supposed to be very busy because this is the time of the year a lot of people rearranging their IRA accounts, doing distributions, contributions, setting up new accounts for tax advantages..etc

Here I am, in the office, been staring at the cam for the past 20 mins...

***********
Maggie and Chum laying on the same bed snoozing

Chum's head pops up "Maggie, did you hear that?"
Maggie not even stirs "Hear what, go back to sleep"
Chum lays down her head "mmmm"
Chum gazes up, she definitely hears something, she stands up, listens to it tentively... Maggie mummbles, again without stirring" Go back to sleep, we girls need the beauty sleep" Chum turns around and lays down again... "Well, you are right about that"

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Go back to the client's file now...well maybe check on the cam one more time first...

Gigi
You guys are awesome!! Thanks for keeping an eye on them! The last two days have been exhausting but I am moved into my new place. It feels wonderful. . . No pictures yet but soon. Dogs will be at Alameda til Friday so I can get everything put away.
Glad to hear you've got the move part done.
Now the fun part begins.....unpacking and finding the right spot for everything. I hate that part.
Can't wait to see pics of the new place!
Glad to hear you got the easy part of the move done and now onto the hard part which is unpacking and deciding where everything needs to go.

It is 10:38 CST and Chummie is laying on the mattress on the floor asleep and Maggie just came back in from the outside run and is laying down on the cot and the big pillow.

You know you are addicted to this cam of the sheepies when you find yourself taping on the computer screen to get their attention.
Val great to hear your doing so well, just peeked in at Chummie and Maggie and Maggie is sleeping , Chum was looking around but now looks like she is going back to sleep :D It's 11.45pm here
Gosh I love those two cuties! Glad to hear you're doing better Val.
Great news, Val.

Tell us just a little about your new place... a tease, if you will.

Also, I worried about your poor girls being confused. Until I realized that mine never seemed to notice they were in new digs.
Looks like Chummie is in the aqua walker this a.m. Still looking for Maggie............
Ah, there she is in the playroom #2 ..........

It is a house with a nice wraparound front porch about 3 blocks away from where we were renting. Chum and I walked by it often on her outings and the past couple weeks, I've brought them both inside to explore.

The neighbors are really nice and the yard has more privacy which I hope means less barking. There are 3 young crab apples trees out back just beginning to bloom. Snow is predicted tonight though. I don'[t know if they are hardy enough to take it.

The biggest change is that the house has stairs and I am not sure if Chum will be able to make it up and down them. Although I am walking around pretty well, carrying a dog upstairs seems overly risky. One set of stairs is carpeted halfway and I've ordered carpet stair treads which I hope will help.

The best feature of the house is the enormous added-on kitchen. It is a dream kitchen. I finally can have my table in the kitchen. And a comfy chair too.
Is this a rental or did you purchase it?

I love wrap around porches! I'd like to build a retirement home with one, just the uprights and the doggies enjoying the fresh air.

A big kitchen, well, since I don't move to well anymore, I'm learning to love this smaller kitchen, I don't have to move around so much get to things.

Wish I knew Boulder better then I'd ask where in town you live. But I don't know it at all. Don't bother answering....it wouldn't help, LOL.

Hope Chummie can do steps......maybe just slowly. My Fox still manages to get up them and down is a controlled "crash". If an upright is standing at the bottom he uses us to bounce off, otherwise he just slows way down trying not to lose his balance.
The house sounds lovely! I covet a wrap around porch. *big sigh* Someday... :P

I look forward to you getting settled in enough for pictures.

I'm glad you're feeling well enough to move. That's a lot of work. Are the bedrooms upstairs? So, Chum really needs to be able to get up there?
Val, we need pictures!!! I cant wait to see it!!!
It sounds great, Val! Did you buy or are you still renting?
I bought it. The house was made in 1900 and renovated in 2000.

The electrician is here today to help me start customizing it to my own tastes. All of the current light fixtures are basic, modern, cookie cutter type stuff. I've brought with me a bunch of period (1900-1920) fixtures (plus one art deco) that I am so excited to have installed. I expect to add or replace most of the lights. Today, I am doing five. In two rooms, I have lights to add but will need to first add the ceiling boxes to power them. And I just noticed that the two old-looking outside lights are actually light weight, new and unnatural materials so I can't wait to find some new sconces for outside. I love lighting. . .

I also expect to do some painting. There is entirely too much white. I am a huge fan of interior designer Susan Sargent (www.susansargent.com) and I am very excited to put some of her principles to use here.

But that's really all that needs doing. The layout, the bathrooms, kitchen, etc. are all pretty much just right. Oh, I also need window treatments -- but that's fun too because I love fabric.

Right now, I am busy moving shelves around in the kitchen cabinets so I can put everything where I want it to go. It is taking a long time because they are all screwed into position. There is lots of space though and it is fun to do.
Pictures please! I can't stand the excitement!

I too love a wrap around porch!
Whoo Hooo! Congrats! Can't wait to see the pixs! How did you escape the "knock down" syndrome that is affecting so much of the area? My old neighborhoods there are falling and being replaced by huge pseudo-traditional MacMansions resulting in little or no yards.

I still dream about the first home I lived in, a traditonal Denver red brick bungalo.....of course in my dreams it's been renovated inside, not outside.

:go:  CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :go:

Haven't talked much about it. I figured I would just tell you all when I moved. I think I mentioned it in chat once but you are hardly on anymore (at least when I am on).

SheepieBoss wrote:

Boulder has alot of regulations that make it hard to do a McMansion. There is a "solar regulation" in particular that governs the extent to which your house can cast a shadow on your neighbor's property. On small lots like in my area that makes renovation pretty challenging.
Congratulations Val, I'll bet your so excited. :clappurple: sounds like you ae going to have a beautiful home
OMG! I'm so excited for you and the pups!!! I can't wait to see the pictures. You are such a busy girl!
Very exciting Val!! Love the decorating and fun!!! Pictures please :D
