OES to be Euthanized if I don't get him help by Saturday

There is an OES that is at a vet in Montreal which will be euthanized if he is not saved this weekend. I have tried everything to get him to me in Orlando, FL, but the weather won't permit him to fly this far south. I am desperately trying to adopt him. I have posted ads on virtually every rescue transport site I could find, to no avail. The women that has him said her husband can't stand the dog (14 month old male, that has spent the first nine months of his life in a crate), so he took him to be euthanized. I am paying the vet to board him so I can get him to my home in Orlando. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS/SUGGESTIONS?? I even tried to get him flown to Atlanta and I was going to drive there to pick him up, but customs isn't open during the weekend hours that I am available to get him.

I AM REALLY BEGGING HERE FOLKS. I CAN'T SEEM TO STOP CRYING FOR THE POOR LITTLE FELLOW. :(

Oh the poor guy! I'm only about 5 hours from Montreal.... but then it would be 23 hours to Orlando! I'm not sure what to suggest... perhaps a train? VIA rail here in Canada ships animals....
Michelle,

You should try and contact one of the OES Rescue contacts in the area (if there are any). http://www.oes.org/html/oes_rescue.shtml

They may be able to help save this dog and may have a better way of identifying transportation to get him to you.

Please be aware that people can tend to be skeptical in signing on to help with transportation for a dog that is not being processed through the "known" Rescue channels. The OES community recently had a case where a woman "rescued" a dog and later was charged with several counts of animal cruelty and several dogs were found dead in her house - possibly including the OES she had rescued. Needless to say, that has added to people's skepticism. If you enlist the help of a Rescue program - you may have better luck!

Best of Luck!

Maybe something on this website can help...

Thanks for the info Kristen. It really stinks that weirdos and other people with problems make life so much more difficult for those of us that truly want to help.

Thanks Again
Michele
The other thing I thought of - why don't you contact the OES rescue contact in your area in FL and see if they can help with arranging transportation. They may have a connection and/or contact for you.

As a coincidence, there's another post in this section of the forum about an OES/St. Bernard mix that is being flown "guaranteed air conditioned" by continental airlines for $300.

Maybe if you call them they'll have an answer for you, and if not, maybe you can trace it back to that pet in petfinder, and contact the volunteer that arranged the transportation!
Michele:

Do you know if this dog has all his shots/vaccinations so that he can come into the U.S without a problem?

If you haven't had any luck getting in touch with the Florida OES Rescue, contact the New England OES Rescue group at http://www.neoesr.org/neoesr.htm. The placement director's phone number is on that page and she is extremely knowledgable.

Good Luck,
Jennifer
