SNOW for Easter

Well, looks like we didn't have a white Christmas but it will be a WHITE EASTER  We got 3 inches of snow yesterday with more expected this weekend. Easter Bunny will have to wear snow shoes

I'm on a 48 hour shift at the fire station (done tomorrow at 5P) so I guess it doesn't really matter but I'M REALLY TIRED OF THE WHITE STUFF!!!

I noticed Phoenix forecast yesterday.......sounds perfect for you 8)

Personally since the orchard is in full bloom, I'd rather have a nice sub freezing time so I won't have to deal with the crop this year......lazy me.
hahahaha....what kind of orchard????? and I understand that completely...i grew up with only ONE apple tree in our backyard, but boy i HATED picking up apples every other day.....sigh...
apples mostly now. Started out with other fruit but we get late frosts. Cross off the sweet cherries, red plums and apricots (sniff). We grow a few sour cherries, taking enough for us and leaving the rest for the birds.

A few peaches and a pear just for excitement.

We experimented with old fashion apples, but not for here. I could take the chain saw out and eliminated about a dozen or so trees that aren't worth the water we have to give them.

We dug out 16 huge grape vines as it was just too much to care for and the neighbor's weedy elm tree was drinking more water than the grapes.

Still have about 60 feet of raspberries, though I suspect they may fall under the rototiller soon.

Husband having back surgery in a few weeks and I just can't take care of the outdoors by myself right now.

You needed some livestock, Darcy.
We have 3 apple trees, and any fallen fruit gets given to the animals as a special treat. Even the sheep love apples!
It developes a good throwing arm too. Our apple trees are in the yard on one side of my garage, and the pasture is on the other side of the garage. We just start pelting them over and the animals come running.

Manna from heaven!
I'm rather sick of the Easter snow too....
It's not just the snow it's the bitter BITTER cold and wind. It's been about 18 degrees F all day with a cold cold wind.

I second that... forecast is calling for 30-40 cm tonight...
I have to laugh, just a little. The weather in Alask is springy. In the 40s and 50s, mealting and sunny for the most part.

Ok, I am done gloating. Have a good Easter even with snow.
 well we are having weird weather here in texas too!!! It was SNoWING... during the day!!....and it stuck!!!!! This is so unusual for us this late. well actually about two easters ago we had a couple if inches, so i guess every two years it'll be a cold easter.

Families are coming to our new house for the holiday. Big deal, i am excited. We got ALL of our furniture finally, and for the finally(sp?)- pictures on the walls. it is actually like a real house. On the upside i only have to cook side dishes. They "moms" are bringing the real food, which is fine by me, b/c i made some of the Milliorn's famous broccoli and cheese(a dry run for tom.) and i totally messed it up. The dogs wouldn't even eat it :P

Hopefully tom. goes better. And sorry for highjacking the thread

we had a bunch of snow swirling around that stuck and after just looking at the weather online it looks like there will be a little more. i had a cute dress i had wanted to wear... now it looks like i just might pull out the easter sweat pants... lol
