The forum is addictive

Ron,

Didn't I read somewhere on a post that you were going to add Caution:May be addictive? I think you need to. I find myself on here 5 or 6 times a day or more(during the work day, at work). Have a feeling if the boss ever catches me he may look like this:

I feel like everyone here is part of the family. I find that I can hardly wait for someone to get the dog they have been waiting for, for someone to finally have baby kittens, etc.

Guess what I am trying to say is thanks again for creating this forum. :D

I know! I find myself here so often every day I just KNOW I'm going to have severe oes.org withdrawal when I go back to work! LOL
 Oh yeah! I am with you! I have a computer at work, so I will be checking in. LOL Love this forum! Love the people, and of course all the stories of the great dogs we all have!
Hey Betsy!
I know this has nothing to do with the topic, but I just noticed that you were from Alabama too. I am from Sylacauga. Where did you get your sheepie from? It took us forever to find a breeder around here!! Anyway, just wanted to say hi. ~B
Well, after a lengthy delay, I am off for Alabama, Joan is staying home.

I will have spotty internet access, so please no photos for a little bit.

I will be stationary there for at least a week. When I get there, I'll let everybody know. (2 days, I suspect).

See you soon!
Have a great time! :)
Yeah, and be careful. I don't like traveling alone. Is this out of necessity or pleasure?
Yes, this forum is very addictive.....I have been without internet or phone (I could careless about a phone though LOL) since Thursday night. I have missed so much.....OK so no one post until I am able to read all the stuff I am behind on......Just kidding.......Ron, have a great time in Alabama, if you happen to come close to Oklahoma (for some out of the way reason, LOL) let us know, we would love to have a visit. Be safe, Stormi and co.
Yeah Ron, be careful.

Alberts Mom - I live in West Blocton, which is about half way between Bessemer and Tuscaloosa. We came by Puddy as somewhat of a "rescue". The people that had him had "inherited" him when her boss moved into a condo. He was left to roam  and hitched a ride on a tool trailer of a friend. When he called to tell her he would bring him back the next morning, she told him if someone would take him she did not want him. My husband and I, being the animal lovers of the group, were the first ones he called and Pud has been with us ever since.

He has been wonderful. He is now an inside dog that is eager to do nothing but please. :D
Just a quick update... I had mechanical difficulties with the motorhome -- I'm in PA for a little while...

I am (was?) headed for AL to have work done on the motorhome. I'll see how I feel about continuing the trip in a day or so.
Oh no! I am sorry Ron! Hate car trouble! Hope all goes well with the repairs. Will keep you in our thoughts!
Ron, where are you in PA?
If you're near Harrisburg, stop by!!
Sorry to hear about your vehicle trouble, I hope everything gets fixed up quickly for you....
how are you enjoying your trip so far otherwise? What about weather changes as you go through?
Here our weather is turning cold at night and the leaves are beginning to change to reds and golds and falling.
Yeah, i saw some brown leaves on the ground and almost cried! Two more weeks till work begins again. I don't want to go back! Whaaaaa! I will miss my little crocodile, and the kittens! I think I will start playing the LOTO  ! lol
I broke down in Nuangola, Hazelton and am sitting in the yard of a tow company in Wilkes-Barre.

I'm probably going to turn around and just go home when I'm back on the road.

Details later.
Ron, If it makes you feel any better there is great pizza in Hazelton that you can by right off the shelf in Sheetz. Scary looking but very good. Also, there is a junkyard called Harry's You Pull it in Hazelton if you would need parts. Probably a long shot but just in case the info would be helpful.
That's too bad Ron, what a disappointment it must be for you!
When I moved from Leamington to here my car broke down on our largest and busiest highway and we were on that highway freezing our butts off for 11 hours. A very tiny car full of kids, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and fish in an ice cream bucket. What a night that was! I wanted to turn around and go back home, I felt like it was a sign or something that I had made the wrong decision....lol
Thanks!

I am home. I aborted my trip after being having 2 repair visits, a tow, a day-and-a-half of repair work, and $1000. The worst part about it was the actual loss of my rear suspension while going down the road, and the resultant driveline problems from misaligned drive shaft. I really don't want to relive that at the moment.

So this AM I decide to come home. 11AM I set off. 100 miles later I lost my right-front tire in a catastrophic blowout at highway speed (55 MPH). I was able (actually pretty easy, considering the size of the rig and my truck behind it) to steer off to the side of the highway

$150 and 3 hours later, I was back on the road.

Boy, did I ever just want to be HOME!

Later... trying to catch up on all the posts.
Gosh, ROn! Talking about signs to bring you back home! All is for a reason, I say. I am glad that you are home and are OK. It must of been pretty scarry! Pheww!
I'm just glad you got home safe! :)
Ron, I hate that you didn't make it to the wonderful State of AL this time. We have had some gorgeous weather the past week or so. Of course, they say that we will be getting some rain this weekend, at least I can't blame you for bringing it. I hate that you had such bad luck, but as Marley wrote, all happens for a reason. Hope you decide to try your luck again soon. Let us know when you will be traveling this way.
If you do try again let us all know. I'm sure there are plenty of driveways and spare rooms for you to park in. Lots of sheepdogs to play with too!
