Oh what a fun hour Simon (and Taylor) had. We, dh and I took the dogs to the dog park on the south side yesterday. This dog park is called the Runway Dog Park because its near the airport, and its completely fenced in. First I have to say that Dh was a complete jerk when we got there. He didn't want to let go of the leash with Simon on it. I asked why and he said it was Simon's first time and he didn't know how Simon would act. Geez, it was fenced in, he wasn't going to run away. So I did the only thing a wife can do, I got in his face and yelled and bit$%ed. Finally...he let go though he wasn't happy about it. OH heaven. Simon ran around, played with the other dogs and just generally had a BLAST. He found a little friend who ran like a bullet and tried to keep up with him. It was funny to watch. Today we took them to the dog park on the north side. I asked dh along on the condition that he didn't hold Simon back. He was much better this time. Dh that is. This dog park is not completely fenced in. Just three sides. Its very different in that it has trails winding through it. There were people there but you didn't see them too often because of the trails and the general size. We ran into one women who had two dogs with her and she told the big one to be nice and I asked if we had to be worried and she said no, her dog likes to hump. Just then her dog tried to mount Simon. LOL Oh yeah... it was MUDDY. It rained last nite and the mud was everywhere. On us and the dogs. It was fun, the dogs ran and played but not like yesterday. And yes, it was bath time when we got home. I know which one I will be going back to. Pam aka Simon's Mom P.S. Next time I WILL TAKE THE CAMARA.
Sounds like Simon had a blast.
Your dh needs to relax a bit. Laughing
The whole point of the dog park is running and playing without a leash.
We have this nutty lady that goes to our dog park, She's got a Malamute, but won't bring the dog into the dog park. She walks him up and down along the outside of the fence. Blinking Cow A bit weird if you ask me....
Kind of defeats the whole purpose.... and you can tell her dog just wants to play. Sad Poor doggy. But she is an older lady, and I guess if her dog got rowdy she would have a hard time controlling him. Who knows...
But I totally feel she is teasing her dog.
Yay for Simon! What great experiences. Sounds like fun. Yes, pictures are a must!
