Leave on dog conditioner

Hi everyone, I'm new to the board, so might as well take this opportunity to introduce myself before asking something. My name's Jay, I live in S.E. London, England (Kent really)! Have a 2yr old OES called Grizzler (picture in Avatar)

I wanted you know if anyone had a recomendation for a leave in conditioner for Grizzler, I clipped him late last year and now his hair is growing back I want to keep it in as good condition as possible and I always seem to be fighting a loosing battle against matts.

Regards,
Jay.

OH MY GOODNESS!! That is the cutest picture ever!!
Welcome to the forum.

That picture is so darn cute!
Jay, he is ADORABLE!!

What i do is take a 1/4 bottle of leftover human conditioner and mix it with water...put it a spray bottle and there you go....cheap and easy....
I use Chris Christiansens (?SP) Ice on Ice leave in spray.

Welcome!
That avatar picture is pretty darn cute. Try "The Stuff." The chain pet stores don't have it but you can get it online and at a lot of independent retailers. I use it for line grooming and it's very light but helps to detangle and eliminate static. It'll soften the coat a bit but, if you're not showing, that's only a plus!

Welcome to the forum!
Thanks for all the nice replies, and for welcoming me to the forum.

Thanks for the advice eveyone, I only bath him once a month as I worry that it will take the natural oils out of his fur, but can I use a spray on conditioner a few times a week as part of his grooming?

That pic was taken a while ago now, he still pulls funny faces like that, and makes me laugh. I will find some more pics to post soon, I clipped him a while back so now new pics, but I do have lots of puppy ones.

Jay
Welcome to the forum :)

You may find less matting if you bath him less. Does he need a bath once a month?
I bathe mine about 2 times a year. For a dog that I'm showing maybe a bit more often, but only the whites if possible.
I just use a human conditioner, about one ounce, in a spray bottle with mostly water. I don't use it very often though, I usually forget LOL
Welcome to the forum from Norway

That picture is soooo cute! :hearts:
Oh I agree - that picture is just fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome from Australia, what a cutie. :D
great picture. :D I use a dog leave-in conditioner mixed with water in a spritz bottle too, I use it between baths when brushing. It helps eliminate static and tangles. Smells nice too!

Welcome from Minnesota, USA
You have a great looking boy- but much bigger now I bet. :D
I use Ice on Ice and love it. I try not to brush anymore unless I spray. :)

What a cute avatar!
LOVE that picture!!! :hearts: :hearts:

Welcome to the forum....

Has anyone ever tried johnson and johnson detangler diluted with water or is it too oily??
A friend uses the Johnson and Johnson Kid's detangler on her Yorkie - no greasiness.
