Rolling H Farms

Does anyone know anything about Rolling H Farms in Tennessee? They also breed white german shepherds. This is where I got Walter from, I just checked his dads hips online for the first time and they were reported as excellent! I was really excited about that but I am still baffled at why Walter has such a bad temperment.

Any information about this breeder would be appreciated!!

Hi Heather,
Just noticed your post. Both of my rescue litter brothers come from parents that were bred at Rolling H Farms and both have personality "issues". In their case I think it comes from the father's side, as their mother is the sweetest, most non aggressive sheepie you could know. Interesting both your dog and mine have poor temperments. Our dogs Mom was spayed after this breeding, because there were so many personality problems in the litter.
Regards,
Kathie
I am just curious. This is the first time I heard anything about Walter having a bad temperment.

What are the indications of a bad temperment? I personally have never had an experience with a sheepdog with a bad temperment but I always like to know more about the breed and what to look for and what to avoid.
Kathie- I'm going to send you a pm! I wonder if Walter was from the same litter or same parents??

Walter has very bad dog aggression, food aggression (used to have all sorts of rescource guading issues but with some work he has gotten much better), and very bad anxiety. When he was a "teenager" we went through about a 6 month period where he bit me almost everyday (aggressive, skin-breaking bites). He has bitten others as well. He's a total crab and has been banned from about 4 different groomers. I can't take him to the dog park anymore, and due to nipping at people walking by I'm having a hard time at the regular park as well. He is smart, but in my house we often joke that there is something "not right" about him... he's just a bit "off" I guess.

I've worked very hard with him though and I haven't been bitten in a long long time, so that is the good news. He also is a big cuddle bunny and is a huge goofball, so he is OES afterall. He may not be the most well behaved dog, but he's my little butthead and I wouldn't trade him for the world :hearts:
I am sorry Heather. It is hard to imagine that cute little crabby Teddy Graham has those issues. It is a good thing he ended up with you who has been so patient. Hopefully any problems that are attributable to a bad line will not be perpetuated with future breedings. Give your little butthead a hug from me.

PS That is good news about his sire's hips. Harry's mom's were excellent and his dad's were good. I am going to have his hips checked when he is two just so we know (we had him neutered so we are not breeding him). After the ordeal with Mopsy's hips I want to know that Harry's are okay.
We got our Sheepdog from Rolling H Farms, and he also has agressive issues. We cant touch him when he has treats, certain toys and food. Only my dad can but he still tries to bite him.
We got our beloved Bartholomew from the Rolling H Farm March 10th, 2003. He was 10 weeks old. He was healthy, had a certificate for his hips and a chip. I spoke to her many times. I saw pictures of him. They lived in west Tennessee, me in central. They delivered him on the way to a show in Walmart parking lot. I paid them $1000. This past weekend, we lost our beloved baby. A month shy of 14, his mind and heart was still good, healthy and happy but due to a neurological problem, lost his ability to get up. For four months we helped him up and he could walk. But we had to make the horrible decision to let him go. I have had OES since I was 18 years old. I am 63. He was by far the best one we have ever had. His only flaw was he could be aggressive to other dogs even though we socialized him property, he even went to puppy day care. I dont know if I just got lucky but he was a beautiful dog.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Pirate the end of October. He was 12 years, 10 months. I'm still grieving for him. Your hurt and pain won't leave you quickly. But the harder we love, the harder we hurt. I am so sorry.
I'm sorry for you loss.
It's always so hard. :ghug:
So sorry for both your losses....Even though many of us have been where you are now, we are never too far away...The emptiness stays, but some of it is filled with love for another......
:ghug: :ghug:
