| After a long battle, I have lost. The matt goosties have taken up residence on Simon. He's going through a coat change and has matts on his stomach and chest that he won't let me get near. He is going in Tuesday to the groomers and I want to have pictures of puppy cuts so they can see exactly what I want. If you would be so kind as to post pictures, I will copy, paste, and print so I don't end up with a naked sheepie. Thanks so much!!! Pam aka Simon's Mom |

If he is matted they woul.d have to completely de mat him before being able to do a puppy cut. Most groomers won't, and it's easier to shave him down.
Their coat grows fast though, in a few weeks you'll have the puppy cut look you wanted anyway  |
| Simon: one of the things I used to do with Violet when she was still going through coat changes and I wanted a longer coat on her was, i would have the groomer just shave her belly. So I then didn't have to deal with the matting under there with the white hair. Now I know you are having problems with the chest, maybe they can work on that for you if you didn't want to cut him all the way down. Remember as the puppy cut grows out it will be matting. I found since i have grown Violet into a full coat, I rarely have to deal with a matt. Of course I bath her weekly and brush her every other day. Puppy cuts are adorable. Good luck with Simon's Hair appointment. He will look adorable which ever way you go. |

Great advise above, let the groomer shave him down
if the matts are too bad. He will grow out again,
and the coat comes in beautiful. |
