Back Talking!!

It's very funny , I have a 9 month old sheepie he's a great dog !! his name is harry. Ever since he was 1 month when it came time to show him what was bad and the whole teaching and traing method he would either jump around think it was time to play also he would sit down and bite his jaw together as if he was talking back. Like I said he is 9 months now and he knows the diff between when it's time to play and when he's in trouble but still to this day he will bite his jaw and swing his head as if he was saying " yeah yeah whatever!!!!" It's very funny My girlfriend and I get a kick out of it but I wonder if that will ever stop? :D

Sounds funny! We might need to get some video of that!

Welcome to the forum!
Im glad there is a whole bunch people who share the same love of the breed.
We're all nuts about'em, Chris!
That sounds adorable! What a character! My Maggie likes to grumble to get her point across.
Sounds like he's full of personality! Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to Harry stories.

HAHAHAHA
Boy do I remember THOSE days!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the forum!

Harry is so cute! :D

They love to talk---Bogart has a list of
"talking points". If he could use a laptop with Powerpoint,
he would be delighted.

As a puppy he did not like the leash, and would shake it like crazy.

Then he would go out in a large semicircle and then return
running straight at me with the leash in his mouth. He would
stop in front of me as if to say--This leash is not necessary Mom!

Our dog trainer who came to the house was amused by him,
and loved working with him. She used high powered treats
so there was more munching and less talking.

You have years ahead of more zany funny sheepie
antics. We have a forum here for Antics. Looking forward to more
Harry stories!

And looking forward to the Harry Back talk video!
Hi to Harry in New Jersey from Harry in St. Louis!

My previous sheepdog, Mopsy used to talk back all the time! Even when she was getting reprimanded! She was very verbal, she would tell me stuff when I would talk to her. It was really cute. But unfortunately she was a yapper too and could annoy the neighbors.

Harry talks very little. He is the strong silent type!
Welcome to the forum from PA! Harry is just adorable! :hearts: To say we all here who share the same love of the breed is a GROSS understatement!!
I have a video , How can I post it any help???
Simone does that too, does also lift one lip as if to sneer?? I first saw this in MO when someone came to visit. Visitors are rare here and to have one who wasn't afraid of dogs and infact adored sheepdogs, was beyond MO. She did this teeth mashing-head turning-lip lifting. Now I see it when she knows she's been bad and about to be scolded, "I'm bad, I'm bad" or when she's very unsure of herself.

Good boy Harry, glad to hear someone is carrying on the tradition.
Drezzie's Mom It says your from easton PA I bought my dog in PA in a place called Hamburg there was a breeder up there . I could not find one in Jersey.
Did somebody say sneer?

Welcome Chris!

Fred gives me lip all of the time, in fact we have full conversations. He is usually protesting something. He looks me right in the eye and tells me, "No!" Fred will be 8 months on the 16th.

I really appreciate that someone else is experiencing back talk too.

Jill: Did Clyde get a trim recently?

Great clip, that was too funny.
8) When Willoughby 22 months backtalks, he says something like urrowerrr and then yawns. Welcome, Chris! :D
That's adorable. Chauncey is a grumbler.....
My Shelby actually "talks" in a very deep "man voice". One day she frightened me because I knew I was the only human in the house, but I heard a "man" talking downstairs. They are such fun! Welcome from NJ cause I'm from Jersey too! Sue :D 8O
