Bless his little heart. :hearts: I'm sorry to hear he's had such a hard time getting better. But, I'm glad that you've finally been able to figure out what it is and how to treat it so he can get healthy now.

Hurray for firm stool! :cheer:
Poor puppy!!

Have you tried canned pumpkin? Many people swear by it. Yup, plain old canned pumpkin mixed with the food.

I hope things get better for you.
oh yes i have tryed canned pumpkin .. i think it is all those cheeze and bones i was giving him.. it kept him busy instead of using my arms to naw on

I wonder if yogurt with live cultures helps dogs with digestive problems, I know they use it with PEOPLE.
I used yogurt when Obe was a small puppy and had digestive problems. It was recommend by the vet. it seem to help. Hope your boy gets to feeling better.
I can sympathize with you there - good for you that you found something that helps!
Some dogs do just need more fiber in their diets. Lucy's one of them. She's almost 12 and it was just in the last few years that I finally found a food that didn't require some sort of supplementation.
You could try Acidophilus capsules there to help, keeps the gut balanced with good bacteria and aids in digestion.

Always given them to my dogs, after being unwell or on medication it helps in that department to keep things firmer.

Best wishes with Derby, I hope it all firms up soon for you all.
Good luck with the bowels - I hope this continues! :D
Hi,

So glad you adopted Derby and provided him with forever home! You sound like a wonderful parent to your furkid! We can relate too regarding the poop, especially with rescues..each milestone is celebrated with glee..even what you mentioned!

Hugs to Derby and kisses from the boys

I know an OES who had the "runz" for 2 years, Almost continual. She learned to go outside for her explosions and come indoors to the shower waiting for her butt wash. She had a raw tushie for some time.

She now can only eat the prescription fish and potato food. That's it, nothing else. No treats, now rawhide chews, etc. In her case it is allergies, have you thought about that for your little pup?
i though of allergies that is why he is on i/d s.diet food.. well his stool is getting looser so bummed :( i am hoping he will grow out of it.. my other rescue was the same way for a year~~ what a pain in the butt
