The Dog With No Name

This week the news stations and our newspaper have shown photos of an emanciated skeletal dog that was found by a good samaritan on our city streets in a back alley.

She was rushed to a vets office where all efforts to save her were in vain. They are now looking to find the person responsible and charge them with animal cruelty.

The horrific starvation and pain this dog suffered, fills me with horror and sadness. I shouldn't have, but I looked at the photos of her in what was described as one of the most disturbing the spca has published. Way too graphic to be posted here.

So to you beautiful white and tan dog with no name. I am sorry on behalf of the human race that did this to you. You had the right to play with an upright in a park happily chasing a ball, you had the right to have good food and fresh water, medical care, and the love of a family.

I hope your death will not be in vain. May people that aren't necessarily involved in rescue become aware by your photo or your story and become involved.

I'm hugging all my pets tonight and shedding a tear for the dog with no name.

How sad  Poor girl.
I am definitely going to give my dogs extra hugs and kisses tonight.

I hope they find the owner!
SIGH! :(
This happens far to often!
Man often betrays animals.
Make me so angry
Utah is one of only 8 states that do not have a law that prosecutes animal cruelty as a felony. The bill failed to make it through the Utah legislature again this year.

It's hard to beleive that this is the state that is home to the largest animal sanctuary in the nation. http://www.bestfriends.com/
I think it was Calvin that once said sometimes I want to quit the human race. :(
I know sadly this case is not uncommon and happens in many places all over the world.

I once heard the saying you can tell how civilized a place is by the way they treat their animals. Seems like we still have lots to learn.

They do have penelties here regarding cruelty towards animals but usually it's a slap on the wrist and in this poor dogs case it's first finding the owner. I hope that justice is served. Poor nameless dog, her suffering has now ended and may she be playing pain free at the Rainbow Bridge.

   There was story in the local paper last week about a guy who had 7 labs and left them outside 24/7. The dogs were rescued but according to the vets they were all maybe one day away from death  They survived by drinking their urine and eating their feces. Thankfully MI is one state that will prosecute, IMO the state should do to the guy what he did to his dogs.
:( I read the same papers and was horrified at the cruelty. I wonder if the dog, a female had been part of a puppy mill?
