Looking to adopt an OES in Northern California

Hello all!
It's me again. I may have put my original post in the wrong place. I am the proud dog mom of two Sheepies that I have rescued. Tyler is 11 years old and doing really well, just a little arthritis in his back. My Kiera Jean is 5 1/2 and a pistol. The reason I am looking to adopt yet another is that my Mom fell in love with mine and now wants one of her own. She would like a female and older is better, over 3 years of age at the youngest.

These characters are the best! They have changed my life. Tyler is a mellow lover of a boy and Kiera is just begining to really blossom. She had some personality issues and was never trained to even walk on leash. I counted 5 owners in her 4 12 years of life, which was when we found her. Now she is the best dog anyone could want.

If you know of any little girl OES that need a home, just send me an email via this forum.

Thanks for listening

Hi,

Here's a list of rescue contacts...

http://www.oes.org/html/oes_rescue.htm

You can contact Grannie Annie of New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue - (grannie.annie@neoesr.org) - she'll be able to point you in the right direction if the above links don't help. Don't be turned away by the location - there have been cross-country placements done before!

You can also look at www.petfinder.com and do a search for Old English Sheepdogs in your area!

Also search under "Sheep Dog" as some shelters/rescues post under that "Breed". Check the Bearded Collie posts too - sometimes it's hard for the shelters to tell the difference.

Good Luck with your search! Please keep us posted!

Kristen
Hi Tylersmom,

Tyler and Kiera Jean sound wonderful! It is great that you welcomed them both in your home. It sounds like Kiera is adjusting really well. I hope you stick around and share more about your fur babies. Keep us posted about finding one for your mom. Stormi and co.
Hello all!
I have contaced the Seal Beach Animal Center and Daisy is still availble. I am making plans to go down this Friday and introduce her to my Mom and Tyler to see if it's a match. Tyler is the picky one, if he likes her then it's home we all go.

Thanks for all of your help, support and good wishes in my search. I will fill you in if things work out.
I'll send some Rescue Dust to you and hope for a perfect match! Best of luck!

Kristen
Hope all does go well. Daisy is a cutey and looks like she deserves a furever home (of course they all do). Hopefully Tyler will give his approval and your Mom will have herself a new baby to love.
Daisy Jane as we call her is now part of our family. She and my mom are doing great. It was a very long drive down and back but all is well and went without incident. Kiera and Daisy get along really well, and we introduced her to Tyler and things went really well with him too. Tyler is always the questionable one as he has a tendency to be a little dog aggresive. However, they taught me how to introduce dogs in a less threatning way and it worked really well. More later, still very sleepy from long drive and all the excitement.
congrats!! im glad everything went well!
Yay! I love happy endings! :)
Can't wait to hear updates!
