Chicagoland Family Pet Expo

The annual Chicagoland Family Pet Expo is just around the corner. The dates are March 16, 17 & 18. It is located at the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg this year.

Fozzie and his parents will be at Booth 726 on Sunday, March 18 from 10:00-12:00. We are volunteering for the Chicagoland OES Club.

Please stop by if you have a chance! Check out the link at www.PetChicago.com for more info and discount coupons. :D

who is represented at this event? are there booths for rescues or just busiensses?
There are some retailers there but the largest representation is of rescues and clubs. I know that the owner of Barrington Barkery mentioned he'd be at a booth for his chosen resue. There are demonstrations for agility and dancing amongst other things. I used to go just to pet all the dogs and get freebies :D
This sounds fun, I think I will try to make it out to see Foz and the other pups!

I hope to see ya! I believe admission is $9, but see if you can locate a coupon online or in the paper. I was informed that there are no parking fees now that it's at the new location.

As always, you are welcome to come by my house to play any time :)
The Jills and I went to one last year. If you see a guy from Ohio with a booth selling Stains and More buy some, it actually works :)

We'll try to be there Stacy. :D
Hi! Just a reminder that we will be at the Pet Expo on Sunday. Please come visit if you can.

Here's the link where you can find all the vendors, booths, activities.

Johnny & I will be working the booth between 2-5 on Sunday. COESC tries to have at least one Sheepie in the booth the whole time the expo is open. So, come anytime and meet a sheepie and their upright! Learn more about the club, fill out an application and join!!

Aw, we'll miss ya there! I'm really excited as this is our first time and of course I love to brag about the sheepie breed. I know all Steve is thinking about is...how the heck will I control the Foz man?

Just tell him he won't have to work out for a few days after...he'll be in recovery :D
Looks like a really good time! Wish I could attend...sigh...
I'm visiting my mom on Sunday so I won't be able to make it. I know Fozzie will be an excellent spokeman (spokesdog?) for OESC!
We're back from the Expo. I don't think Johnny has ever had so many people come up to him and pet him. It was so crowded in the aisles Sunday afternoon that we could barely navigate them.
Do other cities have "Pet Expos"? If so, does anyone take their dog to them?
I talked to a lot of people at the COESC booth, giving information and handouts. I hope the crowd learned something about Sheepies!
We have a huge one in Melbourne every february, it's great fun and the dogs love it. Our club here always participates as it is a great way for people to ask about information on the breed and see them too.

Was johnny exhausted after his big day out and all the people giving him pats and cuddles?

This was brie at the expo last year.

This was her snoring her head off at the end of the long fun pat & cuddle filled day.

Did you take pictures of the day, would love to see some ?
He has passed out in the livingroom right now. He probably won't move 'til breakfast time tomorrow morning.

Your club's booth looks very well done.

There are two pictures in my "album" of todays's event.
Is that a sheepdog applique on your jacket? What a great job you did on grooming.
Thanks, the pictures are wonderful. Johnny is a very handsome sheepie and what a great ambassador for the expo. :D
That's my S/O with Johnny in the booth. We have matching Sheepie embroidered sweatshirts that were originally purchased to wear at Sheepiefest 2006.
Looks like a great booth.

Rule #2 in doing a trade show: Bring a rug!

I'm not sure what rule #1 is.

Did you meet any interesting people?
Johnny is always a mega star at our SheepieFest!

When he arrives, he brings this terrific aura with him. A most impressive fellow!
Sorry we missed Johnny! We had the morning shift from 10-12. Oh what a good boy Fozzie was :D . We were so very very proud of him. I think I managed to get one or two pictures but it was tough with so many people and distractions. Foz was the youngster in our booth. We had a total of 3 sheepies and four people packed in. It was quite an adventure.

The booth was right on an end and to the side of the demonstrations for flyball/frisbee catch. Foz kept his head peaking around the corner to make sure he didn't miss any doggies he wanted to meet. He did enjoy all the people, but after a while he really was searching for canine playmates. He let out quite a few large "come play with me" barks. He was WONDERFUL with all the little kids which was fantastic. We haven't been able to do any of these "fun" things with Annie due to her "issues" with small kids and other dogs.

I was so excited the night before I had trouble staying asleep. Steve was crabby in the morning due to the parking situation at the conference center, but quickly perked up with some coffee and people fawning over his "boy".

We met some really great and interesting people. I tried to go down two aisles to and from the bathroom and it was PACKED! So, I didn't get to see much in the way of other booths. Oh well! It was a blast!

I can't forget to thank Melissa and Amanda (Amanda P) for coming out to support us. You ladies are so sweet to me!

Also, a big thanks to Shawn from the Barrington Barkery for scouting us out, his generous donation to OES Rescue, and the yummy gourmet treats! THANKS! :D
We had a good time. It was interesting to see all the different rescue groups and their booths. Lots of booths had puppies to ooh and ahh over :D Alot of repitition in the products available, and quite a few "does anyone actually buy that" products :D It was packed the whole time we were there.
I'm so sorry we had to miss it. I hope to make it next year. I love those things!!!!!

I bet Foz gots lots of oooos and ahhhs! He's such a dolly.
