TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It was an ALL day proposition but my new KING SIZE BED :rimshot: is now set up and MADE UP in my bedroom    I can't hardly wait for bedtime :yay: :yay:

Of course the old bed still needs to be set up in the guest room, but Doug is a little bit grouchey so I won't push THAT. My old bed is a MASSIVE four poster with a headboard that weighs about 100 lbs. It is a lovely bed, solid mahogany, about 200 years old. BUT IT'S A DOUBLE BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine two six foot adults and a dog sleeping in a DOUBLE BED??????

Once I go to bed tonight I may NEVER GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/b]

I happy for Ginny. Have a good nights rest.
LOL Congrats Ginny! :)
Sweet Dreams!

No, a double isn't big enough for me alone. Paul and MO sleep on the King, Harry and I are on the Queen........and I'm still crawling around that bed trying to find room.........Harry doesn't roll up like any respectful dog.
Yay Ginny!!! That's wonderful! I hope you have a great night tonight! 8)
Is it bedtime yet 8O
You'll love it!!!

That first night is the most expensive night! It's $1500. The next night is only $750, and the next $500. By the end of the week you're down to $215 a night.

At the end of the month you're down to $50 a night and at the end of a year, just $3. At the end of 10 years, the expected lifetime of your bed, you're looking at $0.41 a night.

Isn't your health and back worth 40 cents a night? :D

I need to sell something. It has been far too long.
That bed will Just give the dogs more room to sprawl
OMG!! You were sharing a double bed with Doug! 8O
Billy and I had to share one at my Aunt's house and we almost killed each other.
We had a Queen size until about 3 yrs ago and bought a King.
I could never go back to a Queen. I love my East Coast King as they call them here. lol
And yes there is room for at least one big dog and one small one.
Lacey sleeps at the top of the bed and Rags and Pepsi take turn at the foot of the bed.

Sleep well! I am sure you will. I remember the first morning after sleeping in the King. Billy and I woke up on opposite ends of the bed. He called, "Hello, Hello, Hello, can you hear me over there?" lol
You'll love it!
Sleep? You gotta break that baby in first!
Ha Ha!

Well Ginny congrats on your new bed! Did you win the lotto or something..first the couch..now new bed. I can't help think of the old Jefferson's tune...moving on up...

Sleep well!

Marianne and the boys
We just graduated from a queen to a king, right before Christmas. What a big difference those 20 some inches make...

It will seem like you have a bed all to yourself! Except for a dog or two.. :o

Enjoy!
Congrats!! That is exciting and I hope it feels great tonight!
Ok, we only have a double :( . Maybe that's why we don't mind working opposite shifts sometimes - then we get the whole bed!

   We are OLD, sleep is the first priority

It was LOVELY!!!! I did wake up a couple times wondering where the heck I was and WHERE WAS DOUG!! I also almost landed on my face first thing this morning. My old bed was a HUGE four poster and apparently I unknowingly had the habit of getting up in the morning and holding the post as I rounded the corner of the bed out to the kitchen. This morning I stumbled out of bed went to hang on to the post and went SPRAWLING!!

Oh, Ginny, congrats on the new bed! I would LOVE to get a king bed (we have a queen right now) but our room probably wouldn't be big enough for it. Maybe if I took ALL the furniture out except the bed we could do it!!

Enjoy!
Ginny, its so great that you got a new bed. When we got (a couple months ago) we replaced a 15 year old bed.

I couldn't sleep on the new one for about 3 weeks. Not that it was uncomfortable, it was just different.

Now...I sleep like a baby!!!! I love it. It's made a big difference in how I feel and sleep.

Congrats!
whooo hoooo....maybe the coffee maker needs to be on your nightstand...that way you can wake up before getting out of bed and taking a header... :?
LOL Glad you didn't fall on your face... LOL
Well, here it is, Ty's new bed
I'm not thrilled with the bedding but the comforter was on sale CHEAP. I'm such a princess that my sheets MUST be 100% cotton 450 count or better so after I spent a fortune on the sheets there wasn't much left for pretties. I was a little dissappointed in the size of the comforter, it really doesn't come down as far as it should.

The GOOD NEWS is that I can finally use the Hudson Bay blanket (a gift from a patient) that I've been hanging onto for years and could never use because it was too big. The bedskirt isn't on exactly right, but I forgot to tell Doug that I needed to put it down BEFORE he put the mattress on. I was afraid to ask him to move the mattress again so I just kinda scootched it on!!!

You should of used those steps at the end of the new bed then ginny  Great assist there for OLDIES. What no breaking in the new bed, geez you are getting older then 21++++++++ 8)

Your new bed looks huge, love the colouring of the comforter. SNORE, Hey ginny wake up, geez she is asleep again, we may never hear from her again now that she has her new luxurious bed.
Oh I love the bed, the bedspread, and those pet stairs!!!!!
I feel a sick day coming on

JUST MY LUCK, this coming weekend when I'm dying to LOUNGE in bed for a lazy Sat or Sunday brunch I have 48 hour FIRE HOUSE duty and won't even see my bed from Friday morning til Sunday night :( :(
Looks like the lap of luxury. Nothing better than new sheets and WHAT a new bed? Woohoo. Enjoy!
love your bed!!! i think youre going to find the same problem that i found out....its hard to find comforters that fit correctly.....im lucky, i had my mom make mine...i just gave her the size i needed and the fabric...lol.....

i think you said that you had a cali king..we have an eastern king...which is basically square...pottery barns quilts are actually pretty good...they dont come up high enough but the do stretch a bit after time...so the legnth on the sides seems to have improved....

sheets ...go for the ''hotel'' type sheets...and extra deep fitted that says 18'' mattress...i found that the normal fitted sheets kept coming loose....i got mine at bed bath and beyond for 75.00 on sale...100% cotton, 500 thread....soooo nice, especially ironed :D
You are right, must be the depth of the mattress, I have NEVER seen a mattress so thick. It is a regular king though not a Cali king (they are longer right?)
Hey Ginny welcome to the world of King Sized Beds!

Remember I have the Queen of Englands King size bed!! Purchased from the Four Seasons when she toured here several years ago. Protocol required she sleep in a brand new bed and thus this bed was purchased just for her. It sat for a few years in storage until I was asked by my brother in law if I wanted it for 500 dollars. Silly me thought the Queens bed would be well....Queen sized!

Owww it's horrible , rock hard and soooo uncomfortable, so I sleep in the Guest room and what is more appropriate to sleep on the Queen's King sized bed...but Old English sheepdogs of course! :D

Marianne and the very spoiled boys
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Poor Marianne, but at least you have LOTS of couches to sleep on!!!!
