Politicians switching sides...

What do people think about politicians switching parties or radically switching stances on issues. Do you think that it is a ploy to get votes or do you think that it is like many of them claim, that they had an epiphany or that they have come by the change through a personal growth?

I think it's all of the above plus perhaps a small dose of the party's positions changing over time as well.
I think it depends on the person. Some, and I'll leave names out, seem to change to just get votes. Look at the new wave of conservative Democrats. What do you think they are doing? Trying to just get votes, or be somewhere in the middle of Republican and Democrats because of their beliefs? I think more of the US population can relate to the conservative Democrats, as most people don't agree 100% with either of the major parties.
I think they aren't true to themselves in order to get votes from certain parties. Who the heck can you believe? I think we should do without! :D
So true Stacy! Let people vote on their beliefs and thoughts, not vote just one way just because they belong to one party or another!
