Now it's my computer!

In the past two weeks ...van, washing machine, hot water tank, dryer, and now my computer. :?

Had to turn on computer manually and operate under safe mode so I think that perhaps has an effect why I can't log in under my name?

Help Ron!

That really sucks, sorry Marianne. :(
Gremlins, Marianne....it's the ONLY explanation. 8O
Drat!

I knew it I should have searched under the bed for them! :?

Well it could be worse at least I can read the forum. Just can't stop in chat, read pm's or go in members forum. I miss the benefits!! Still it could be worse..(keeps repeating mantra).

Marianne
What happens when you try to log in? Do you get an error message? Do you remember your passowrd properly?

It is possible that Safe Mode doesn't allow cookies to be accepted -- or that you have a different profile in Internet Explorer when running under Safe Mode. Try checking the setting for cookies in Internet Explorer. You must be able to accept at least session (temporary) cookies to log in... I think.
Yep those darn gremlins at work again, Sheesh what else to follow, no don't want to jinx you, but heck you have had a bad run lately

I am on slow speed at the moment on broadband, gone over the limit for the month, no fast speed till next month darn it, what's new I definately talk toooooooooo much, so slow puter Waaaah, sniff sniff.
Hi Ron,

It says I activated an incorrect username or password. I kept trying and finally after 10 tries it said I was not allowed to try again for 1/2 hour.

Honest I do remember my name is Marianne...lol, and have used the same password for 4 years..so I know it's right.

Marianne
Me again,

it says incorrect or inactive user name...or incorrect password.

Dunno about the cookies ..Merlin might have ate them!

8) Poor Marianne, I feel so bad for you with your bad run of luck and now your computer. OH NOOOO! I think your 50 things I want to do before I die list has just overflowed.

I am sending GOOD LUCK wishes your way!
I wish you were closer Marianne and I would send my BIL over to fix it! Did you try a go back or system restore? I wish I knew more about computers to help you.

Friday eve my bathtub water lines exploded , so my bad luck streak is still going too. My only saving grace is Todd's boss let him come home from work, and he actually knew how to fix it !! :D

SORRY!
8O 8O 8O Oh well on the grand scheme of things in life...still could be worse! (repeats mantra once again).

When we purchased this home 10 years ago (I bought ex's portion 4 years ago) While waiting to move in, the hot water tank and dishwasher died, and the poor previous owners had to buy new ones before our move in date.

They also took their washing machine and dryer so bought those new 10 years ago and decided to get new fridge and stove at the same time. Urg! Looking back on it now..stupid ...as all appliances are now 10 years old. Everything bought within a few months of each other.About the end of their life span and probably meant to all go at once. I'm hoping to space it out a bit this time!

Had the furnance fixed last year, now new tank.. I even brought out my tools and fixed the washing machine!!! Dryer I have to prop a stick up to hold the door closed..but hey it works! Stove has two burners working but I can live with that. Just need the van fixed and all is good with the world again!

Now you know what I meant by being house poor Ron!! hee hee. The house prices here have risen dramatically so while I'm half a millionaire I'm a broke one!

You guys realize I don't sell this place and move into a brand new condo where I would be morgage free because of the furballs don't you?

Nope!!! wouldn't trade them for the world and being happy is the most important thing of all. So I only view these things as temporary setbacks and still happy I live in this big house, even with all the broken applicances as I have all the furballs sharing it with me.

Marianne
Marianne,

You have the biggest heart of gold of anyone I have ever known! :ghug: Wish I lived closer and I could send hubby over to fix the computer and the van. Everything else you probably would have to fix yourself.
There must be a 15 year-old somewhere around who can help you!
