Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!! A little early but it's the 14th in some places!

So what are you guys giving, and what did you get?

I love any day we exchange something cheesy even if most of the folks I know don't like Valentine's Day! Mostly because it means they have good candy on the shelves.

Once Valentine's is over, it will only be a short time before cadbury eggs go on the shelves! I can't wait! Yummy.

We go out after Valentine's Day, when we don't have to wait! We decided to skip gifts this year in lieu of the wedding but James already gave me these cute little stuffed bears anyway. One is a polar bear that really looks like Bear and the other is a panda that really looks like Clyde. He said he saw them on the shelf and they looked so much like the guys, he had to get them for me.

Do you guys not have Cadbury eggs in Alaska yet? We've had them for awhile. I've already had a few!

I went to the store today and definitely no Cadbury eggs.
Well, we are in the midst of a HUGE snowstorm (2-3 feet expected in the next 24 hours). I had planned to go to the store tonight to get a card and chocolate for Doug, but the roads are too bad. He confessed at dinner that he was going tomorrow. But I doubt we'll be going anywhere tomorrow. So we'll just have to exchange hugs and kisses :hearts:
I've got new couches for downstairs coming this afternoon, WOO HOO, LEATHER. :P :excited:

No more dog hair sticking to the couches. 8)

A card and some flowers too. :hearts:
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A LEATHER couch!!!
Hannah and Copper will be getting Valentine special dinner. Hubby's away on business.
We are on opposite shifts this week, so no hot date. We exchanged candy, cards and flowers this morning. OK, We put them on each other's placemat, and each saw them when we got up/got home.  .
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We are SO broke. We just had to get new tires for the SUV and then hubby's truck had to go to the garage and that was $800 by itself. :?

We're going out for a CHEAP lunch today since he has to work tonight and both the boys will be in school. I did get my boys some teddy bears, chocolates, books, and a card though.
About a week ago my husband bought a little mailbox with hearts on it and set it on the mantle. I opened the mailbox (nothing in it) and he got mad and said don't open it. So I go downstairs this morning and notice the flag on the mailbox is up and sitting on top is this stuffed dog in jail clothes with a heart that says Prisoner of Love and then inside the mailbox is candy conversation hearts and Nerds and a gift card to Nordstrom....so sweet!

Oh, and hubby wants everyone to know that he is not that cheesy to be serious with the prisoner of love stuffed dog...it's that it was funny so he got it... 8)
Happy Valentines day. I woke to 12 inches of snow and another 24 on the way. Dragged myself to work through the 18 miles of snow and ice. Only one patient showed up. Had a really bad sore throat so got in to see one of the Dr's, strep test came back positive. So I get to spend the rest of the day wearing a mask and feeling lousey. I hope DOug will get out early and we can go home.

Have I whined enough yet?????
Tony and I will celebrate Saturday, when I get back from NY.

Question:

How many Hersheys kisses in a pound?
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!!! HERE'S A BIG

:ghug:

AND LOTS OF

TO ALL OF YOU!!!! :hearts:

Mike surprised me with flowers, chocolates and a stuffed monkey (who whistles at you when you squeeze him). I didn't think we were exchanging gifts untilt he weekend, since he's working all day today, but he got one up on me.

Hope you all have a wonderful, romantic day!
Happy V Day! :)

I also called one of my closest friends (oes mum) EARLY this AM to wish her a Happy Birthday LOL
Happy Valentines day all :ghug:

I got a lovely card, necklace and red/white roses delivered to work, Dave always puts white roses, as I had white roses on our wedding day ahhhh and he's taking me out for dinner later la la la la xx

Back to the Cadbury Creme egg comment - yep eating one right now - yum yum lol

You're able to get out of here, Deborah? Have a blast!

I got Steve a card and a big Valentine's day choco chip cookie at the work cafe. I woke up this morning to a card, a heart filled with M&Ms, and choco peanut butter candy. Yummy!
Happy Valentine's Day All!

This morning we were consumed with the snow/ice situation here in Maryland. My husband was up early trying to get his car out to no avail; it was frozen in the ice. He took my SUV instead. His car has this winter drive gear and is safer to drive in inclement weather than my vehicle. Apparently, he slid the whole way out of our development. (Ginny...I shouldn't even be allowed complain as I am guessing you live fairly close to Oswego based on the amount of snow you were mentioning)Anway, my daughter has been ill for nearly a week and she has been sleeping in with us; when my husband woke up she woke up. Things were so insane we didn't even get to wish eachother Happy V. Day.

For Valentine's Day we are giving our daughter a Valentine's Day Potato Head, (we gave her a family for Christmas and she refers to them as Po-dubba-dubs) and a Collection of Curious George Stories. I bought my husband a Bobby Flay, Boy Meets Grill cookbook and I am planning to make him some brownies. Fred is getting a Dingo doggie Bone, as this is what he appreciates the most.

Most of the day I am going to be spending the day cooking though for close friends of mine that are coming home from the hospital today with their new baby. This is their second child and they are going to have their hands full.
ohh...cadbury eggs. Yum! I haven't seen any here.

Happy Valentine's day everyone!
Beautiful box of Godiva on the kitchen counter along with several Valentine cards. I've tested the chocolate, but have yet to open the cards  Had to take snow depth and moisture reports this a.m.......was just too busy to read the cards
Tim and I exchanged cards this morning and are going out to dinner tonight for Chinese.

I bought Harry four Valentine shaped treats. I gave him one this morning, to lots of butt wagging, right before I left for work and he carried it off into the family room. Then I called down the hall to Tim and said "I left a treat for Harry on your lunch on the counter in the kitchen - give it to him when you leave and wish him a 'Happy Valentine's Day'"

Tim called me when he got to work and said "Didn't you say you left a Valentine treat for me to give to Harry? I didn't see it." 8O I replied that I left it right on top of his gladware container! Tim said, "It wasn't there." 8O 8O

It would appear that Harry wished himself a Happy Valentines Day!
Lucky Harry I say lol
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Enjoy your chocolate.

Those with cadbury eggs ...pfft.
I surprised my boyfriend yesterday by taking him to a Bulls game with some of our friends. He was totally surprised and we had a great time. He's being a total jerk about getting me something so who knows if I'll get anything tonight.

I AM picking up my new foster dog tonight, and he can be my valentine if my boyfriend is still being a jerk. His name is Doogal and he looks like a muppet... I'm so excited!
Once again, I did NOT get the red satin, heart shaped box of Fannie Mae chocolates. That is just wrong.

I wore red today only because I needed to wear something with pockets and this was in the front of the closet. My mom is back in the hospital and Bob the Wonder spiked a 105 temp last night, the 3rd in 2 weeks. 8O The vet was out Monday and drew blood. The results last night showed he has a "liver infection" that isn't serious and is very responsive to the antibiotics he started on last night. I knew I shouldn't have given him that bottle of Old Grandad for his birthday.

And the roads are still bad from yesterday's storm so I don't know if I can get to the barn tonight. At least Mom is well taken care of in the hospital!

So I'm having a lousy Valentine's Day and no, I don't want any cheese with my whine. Pass me the scotch.

I hope your day gets better, much better!
Hug Bob for me!!
Sorry for those having a bad day! I hope the weather gets better where you guys are. Just give it to us! I don't mind it!

The girls next door that I watch brought me some yellow roses and a white stuffed dog for lil J this morning. :hearts:
I haven't seen the Cadbury eggs around here either. :(

As Todd is going to work, I went to plan B.
Going to take a run up to Cabelas (about 50 min away) and get Chewie some of those 8" tall dog boots. I'll let you all know what they're like.

My friend Mary and granddaughter Breanna are coming with. Of course we're going to hit the outlet mall next to Cabelas.
Im going to sit in a closet all by myself and drink red wine....long story short...I know how to use a tape measure and brian doesnt....yet, I had to race home because i was "wrong"....MEN!

I hear ya Paula!!! I came home from work with 103 temp and strep throat. No card or satin box of chocolates for me either  AND I don't thbink it's EVER going to stop snowing!!!
I was just outside checking the mail and fed ex stopped in my driveway. Mr. J sent some flowers, but apparently Yuki wanted to go see daddy... she jumped in the truck and sat there wagging her butt to be taken away. 8O

The lady was so nice and just laughed.
Mrs J that is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!!!!
Awww Yuki is a character. What a wonderful surprise for you too from Mr. J.

My couches arrived last night at 7.00, sheepie girls are not allowed on them, well for now anyway, see how we go there.
lisa, no valentine can beat new couches!!!! We want to see. Sigh... we will get new ones soon too. Either when he gets back or when we move. Can't decide what does best with stains and dogs with nails!

Me too, Paula :( I do, however, have a bottle of Johnnie Black and lots of snickers, so come on over :) If I can get this @%*& fire to start we'll even be warm!
There you go J, thick italian leather so less chance of nails going through it. I Loooove it :excited: :hearts: Best part no Hair or dirt will show up on them, just the occassional wipe over WOO HOO. :P

good grief, your couch and house are nice! It could be the lobby of a 5 star hotel! Very pretty lisa!
Lisa - awesome couches inan awesome house. They look stunning! :D

Jo - our Ollie used to jump in the UPS truck when they came with packages. We have had the same lady driver for years. She would get out of the truck and Ollie jumped in. He went down the aisle and checked out the packages. When she came back in, she always hugged him and he hopped off the truck. I think she was as sad as we were when he died :( . I love your new avatar too!
ahhhh hope your day improved for you guys ??

We have had Creme Eggs since Christmas - hey I should do some selling for Cadbury !! We have a Cadbury factory here and when you pull up outside, the air smells of chocolate, no kidding - i need to move there :o
Hey Kayla have you had the Cadbury Ice Cream Bars, there to die for  Big bar of Vanilla ice cream coated in thick cadbury dairy milk chocolate, up there with flakes. :D

Hot day here so munching on one of them now YUMMY.
oh yeh and they are yummy, especially when you can sit in the sun - oh lucky you

One is never enough though .......mmmmm
Lisa, the room and couches are beautiful.

I spent three hours with my periodontist yesterday and now have a mouthful of stitches and a swollen face. :(
My hubby Tim was a great Valentine though - he came home from work early, brought me roses, made me food I didn't have to chew, and got me ice packs. :hearts:
OWW! That is so painful. What a great guy. :D
that sounds awful Bailey's mom! :( I hope you heal fast and get to enjoy something better to eat later. I think you and lil J are forced on the same diet. He has a stomach bug and his stomach is all wrinkly and sunken in from not eating for so long.
Lisa your new furniture is beautiful!! I'm so jealous!!
What an absolutely lovely home you have. Someday, I'm going to surprise you and come for a visit. :D

Ditto?

Hope your feeling better today and the swelling has gone down a bit, how wonderful tim is.
Hubby took a week off work. So yesterday, we went shopping...I FINALLY got my own cell phone...we have renewed the contract and got 2 free phones.

Then we had lunch together, both got hair cuts, a little more shopping. He bought me some choc.

Picked up the kids from school and came home. Not very eventful, BUT we LOVED our day together like that. They don't come around very often.
Lisa nice lounge - is that your pool I spy in the far left corner ??? Ollie wants to know if he can come for a swim, he said I should come too xx
NAAAAH it's a 12 seater Spa. :excited:

Fenced to keep sheepies out, so you can come on over and so can Tammy, heck we have a spare room now no 2 son is away for months on end.

How does a nice glass of vino sound in one hand and a cadbury ice cream bar in the other while soaking in the bubbles in the spa with the sun rays beaming down 8)
I can just picture if now, warm weather, hot bubbles, wine and a yummy Cadbury ice cream - Lisa i think we will all be on our way over lol
