Chewed a bleach pen

Hi. My 1 yr old sheepdog got into the laundryroom, knocked over the step-lid garbage can and decided that the best thing to chew on was an empty Clorox Bleach Gel Pen. I was awakened at 4 this morning by a whimper then the sound of him vomiting. He had also had a bowel movement on the floor, but it was normal, not diarrhea. He's been acting fine since except that he's sleeping right now when he'd normally be up tormenting the cat. I have been attributing this to his being up at 4 AM with me and my poking and prodding him every 15 minutes to make sure he was ok.
I was thinking of not feeding him at all because I am leaving for work in a bit and didn't want him to vomit while I was away, but he was begging for food. When I let him outside a while ago he was very frisky and running in the snow. Should I call off work? I will be back on my lunch to feed him, is that good enough? The vet isn't open to ask questions yet, I'm really just looking for opinions.

A bleach pen sounds serious. 8O I would get information from the vet before leaving he dog alone.
Hi,

I don't want to alarm you needlessly either but this is something that should be checked. The article below says chemical burns may not show up immediately but may take several hours. Bleach may have burned his tongue and his estophagus.

Here's an article I found:

Will be thinking of you and please get back to us and let us know how everything is.

Oh boy. With bleach, I'd call the vet immediately and treat it like any other poison.
Hopefully there was no bleach left in the pen. Is he okay now?
I know this is late but definitely take him in. Is he OK? Please let us know. I hope so.
