Is Mandy practicing Suzi's stacking and her down and backs?

Should this be in the "Entertainment" section?

Perhaps any handlers out there can tell us about showring nightmares?
Last week, the handling instructor told us to take this week off from class. I'm not sure if that's good! 8O We have a show this weekend so one more big "practice session" before the Garden!!!

P.S. I have recurrent dreams about falling down in the ring, my dress goes over my head and then the camera does that slow zoom in thing. 8O
Mandy, I guess that means you might want to buy some new "unmentionables" too 8O
Do you mean Depends?
   very evil, George!! (but funny!)
Oh George ! That made me laugh out loud!!

I'm so nervous & excited for you, Mandy!! :excited:

Years ago I showed my brindle Bull terrier, Bailey at 6 months old. She had gotten into the garbage that morning, and nobody told me....

She upchucked right in the middle of the ring, or rather, all down the center runner while we were doing our thing..
Oh my gosh Nicole! At least it was long enough ago that you can look back and laugh!

:twitch:

I'll be sure to have my camera with me so we can put it on YouTube!

My most embarrassing moment, besides being yelled at by judges for not hearing them, is when I left a "washable" tag on my brand new clothes and the judge went up to me while we were all stacked and removed it!!   Now you all know why I have chosen to use handlers from now on!!
Although this involved my dogs I didn't actually see it. Beau and Luke went to a sweepstakes in PA with a handler. Beau was already a champion and loved being in the ring, Luke not so much. Since they were littermates they were in the same puppy class. Out comes Beau looking every inch the champ; a few puppies later comes Luke. Luke sees his brother and across the ring he goes, barking and wanting to play  Beau turned his back and acted like he had never seen Luke before  The judge had a good sense of humor and let Luke stay, Beau went on to win the whole thing and even Luke got a prize.

The next one was with Rosco and Daisy. We were in Kalamazoo with my breeder and some friends with a total of 7 dogs of various ages. I was showing the puppies and we had people on the side holding dogs and helping with armbands. When Rosco was called back into the ring I grabbed the leash and stacked him for the judge. The problem was that's when I realized I had taken Daisy in by mistake   Since the judge had already gone over the dogs we just did some go arounds, I ran as poorly as I could without being obvious  That was the only time I prayed I would lose
Good luck Mandy and Suzi....as far as this thread is concerned, I hope your middle name is not Bridget (as in Bridget Jones :D ).
Mandy - you're going to have such a big support base! I told my parents (who know nothing about dogs shows except that they're on TV) to tune in and watch for you! You're going to have such a good time. What an experience!!!!!

Good advice Darcy.

I fell over a Pot Plant that was decorating the edge of the ring, went to do the triangle and was not watching where I was going, CRASH, legs flew everywhere and a skirt on too, even managed to still hold onto the lead. Male judge got more then he bargained for in the ring
Now I show in slacks, just in case it ever happens again. :P Or it is an outside ring on a windy day, learnt there too slacks are better. 8)

When I first started showing and still not really sure what I was doing, after the judge went over the dog, asked me to do a triangle, did that and got back to the judge. She said "Very nicely done, but how about we do it again and go in the direction the other dogs go"

So Mandy take darcys advice, new unmentionables, just in case your nightmare becomes a reality. 8O
Or don't wear any...
8O

I guess you wouldn't have to worry about lines if you did that!
They have "Pot" plants next to the ring? Hmmm......

I'm so excited for you Mandy....you'll be too focused to be nervous. And Suzi will be the charmer we all know she can be!!!
:cheer:
How's it going Mandy? Is she doing good? Are you ready to go?
