LOST

Okay - I rewatched all the episodes from the fall "season" so I'm ready for it to come back on now. Two weeks -right? February 7th? :excited:
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
SERIOUSLY... I could feel my heartbeat go up at just the mention of this show!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I was afraid Mr. J wouldn't watch this even though I begged and pleaded him to, but he played it for ALL of his soldiers and it's now their FAVORITE SHOW HANDS DOWN!!! Many of them joined all kinds of forums online and bought their own copy after watching it! Although I'm not sure why they would buy their own copy if Mr. J has the only DVD player, but they are sold out at main store the last time they got to go.

I can't wait to send them Season III!!!
I can't wait for it to come back!
I'm cautiously optomistic about it. It's been off the air for so long and the fall stories weren't as good as I thought they'd be...so they'd better shape up for this coming up spring season!
^^^

I've run into several people who have said the same thing. I hope it doesn't go down hill!
Me too. I just started watching it this season (watched the first two seasons on DVD). So, I am hoping for some good shows this spring.

Ditto!
Only a few hours away. I'm pretty excited...
HOLY CRAP, didn't know it started tonight! I'm going to call everyone over  I'm so stoked. Pissed that everyone (but ravenmoonart) gets to watch it before me! 8)
Someone said the 8pm episode is a recap. :!:

It doesn't officially start until 9 pm!
It's on at 10 p.m. on this side of the world.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD!!! My friend from class practically peed in her pants wanting for a commercial, so she could go... She didn't want to miss a second. I understood!

So... in the recap, they showed hurley in the food room drinking milk, and Walt's pic was on it. Anyone know when/why he was ever missing?

This whole Juliet story is good. And her fertility research. One of my friends said she wonders if someone had a sex change or something since they talked about a male being impregnated. Her sister looked like a female, but she was saying... maybe not. I thought it was far-fetched too until another board said the same thing. Still not buying that.

Did anybody notice the name on the slides the guy was showing her? The recruiting company that wanted Juliet was Mittelos Bioscience. There was a Thomas Mittelwerk that held Alvar Hanso captive during the Lost experience in the summer.
It was good!
Jo, In regards to the male being pregnant it was a male rat.
I wonder if Ben will really let Juliet leave the island?
That was quite a recruitment. 8O
I'm going to have watch it again to catch everything. :)
They know. But she, and others, noted that he could have really been speaking code. I am not in the crowd who believes that "someone" had a sex change. Thought it was crazy.
I like this list of characters. I keep forgetting their names.

http://www.igetlost.com/characterlist.asp
I found the whole episode kind of disappointing as a whole. I it would also be nice if there weren't commercials every 9 minutes. I think we really only see about 26 minutes of actually show.
I thought this episode was better than the fall ones were, but still not up to par. And the constant commercials were very annoying.

I'm going to have to keep on figuring out if Juliet is good or not. I can't wait until next week when we can finally see some of the other people again.
I thought they did a GREAT job getting me in the mood for their new episode because the recap put you in the last episode shown and highlighted the intense parts. When the episode ended, I jumped up and down (YES!!!!!). I had goosebumps from it. :excited:

I like how even though she is an "Other" she is not necessarily bad. We got to see that she ended up here not because she really wanted to, but because she was kind of coerced into it. Assuming she told Jack the truth about Ben letting her go if she helped...she and maybe others are very much captives on the islands.
Mr Friendly seems.... friendly too.
8O 8O

I have to stay away from this post,we probably can watch the season you saw in this fall now, I just love this show...
But I can’t help my self, I’m reading it.....
Was anyone else disappointed with last night's episode? :?
I LOVED IT!!!... it took me awhile to figure out what was happening.

I am so hooked on that show.. nothing and I mean... nothing happens in my house between 9-10.. the dogs have to hold it.. Troy and Tanner are not allowed to talk and the phone is shut off....

No, on the contrary, I thought it was much better than the week before's episode. I think they did a good job of answering some questions, but giving us even more to think of.

I wasn't surprised that they were threatening Charlie with death yet again since he was actually supposed to die that time he got hung by Ethan in the jungle. Apparently he had such a strong fan following, they brought him back. They've probably been itching to kill him off ever since! I did like though how they made it seem like it was Claire that was on the path to die, but all along, it was Charlie.

One thing I didn't get though-- why didn't Charlie remember him from the street. That's where the whole time thing got weird. Charlie would've definitely remembered that encounter.
I liked the episode. It made me feel like they were at least headed in the direction of giving out answers and explanations to things...and it was good to have Desmond do something more than just run around or acting nonsensical.

The thing right now that is bothering me about Lost (besides that it's on at 10pm! ) is that I just hope that it doesn't go too sci fi. I would like to have many of the mysteries explained in a somewhat plausible way--no time travel, no black holes, no pergatory...I don't care if they have it all be some weird scientific experiement that most likely couldn't happen in real life, but as long as it is explained in a way that the scientists could have developed a drug or something, I don't know.

I guess for the Charlie not recognizing Desmond thing, that could tie in to what my coworkers and I were wondering about--maybe when Desmond was back in London, he wasn't ever actually there physically...that the hatch imploding caused some sort of mental flashback or something almost like a subconscious dream. And, since he'd met Charlie before the hatch imploded, he would 'know' Charlie to have him placed into his dream.

How creepy was the shop woman? Next week should be good.

Those were my thoughts exactly. I believe the flashback was a result of a concusion. He did reach around his head and felt a bump or something when he came to. He did get thrown quite the distance.
What the heck??!?! ;) It was the BEST EPISODE EVER (until next week). I couldn't sleep yet again thinking about the show so I spent a lot of time talking to other people about it. I am so addicted. Mr. J called, and I haven't talked to him in more than 2 weeks, and after I made sure he was okay, I SAID GOT TO GO. LATER SK8TER! He totally understood since he's hooked.

These are key screenshots that everyone keeps posting. Don't worry, no spoilers. I hate them. Just key things they feel we should take note to at this point.

Here it is in reverse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZmAz86uHq4

"only fools are enslaved by time and space"

Mittelos is an anagram for lost time and then you see the number 23.
People are also saying,

that when Desmond is with Penny in the flat, "Building a Mystery" is playing in the background. Then Charlie is singing "Wonderwall" when Desmond approaches him on the street.

Lyrics:

And maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
Cuz after all
You're my wonderwall

Maybe these are hints?
Can't wait until next weeks episode... Looks good!
My brain hurts :(

I like the episode, but agree with Steph. I hope they don't turn this into some sci-fi thing.
Well, that definitely gives it a whole other dimension that I hadn't thought of. I guess I was just expecting something different. It seemed like we spent the whole episode in a dream that ended up meaning nothing. I must've missed something...I knew I should've waited to watch it until I was off my meds.  The cough medicine the doctor gave me makes me loopy. I'm gonna have to re-watch it now to see what I missed.

If it was a subconscious dream... what are your thoughts on his present abilities to see the future?

edit: And for those who may not remember, Cindy (next episode) is the flight attendant that gave Jack the extra liquor bottle on the plane.
tonight stunk. :(

The Asian stuff has to mean more than what was revealed. It didn't make sense.

I saw that the executuve producers were upset with ABC for hyping the "3 questions you've always wanted answered will be revealed tonight" because he knew the audience would be upset. Someone said they read it. ABC does all the commercials, and it's out of the writers hands.
I think I am getting to the point where I really only care about backstories that are going to reveal more than subtle details.

It was just a matter of time before the tattoos came up. People figured those out in the message boards 2 years ago though so it's not like they revealed something really good.

The Asian theme has been running through all 3 seasons. The whole Dharma/namaste thing started it. Now they like to throw something Asian in every now and then to keep it going.

I think Jack should've told those people that they killed Ana-Lucia just to upset them.

This concludes my Lost rants for this morning.
I was actually pissed last night after the show. That doesn't usually happen to me, but I think it's because they moved the time slot. Thus I get ready for bed later and it wasn't even worth it
I didn't get was why everyone was staring at Jack like he was a monkey when he was in the cage. Then why Cindy was so confused by his questions. Like she didn't get why he thought it was weird that she was staring.

Also, did anyone notice that Jack's tattoo changes? Or appears to from the time he was on the beach to the present?
Joahaeyo wrote:

It doesn't change, there's just another one above the line of characters.
You think being "marked" will somehow lead to the Asian girl returning? They made a big deal out of "being marked"

Interesting that Ethan was a surgeon.
Was it my imagination, or was the lady who is the sheriff the one who told Desmond last week that he could not buy the ring??
I have seen that suggested. On the LOST website, they are different actresses though. I would think if it was her, she would be the older version (presently) and the younger one (sheriff) would be the one who sold him the ring because there is an age difference.
It's not the same actress. The creepy old lady was in The Others with Nicole Kidman.

The "sheriff" freaked me out...I don't like her. 8O
Darn. :x I thought I was onto somthing.
Beaureguard's Mom wrote:

Sorry :(

I think the main difference I see between the two is that the old lady with desmond while saying creepy stuff...looked like a nice old lady. She could also show up on the island. She also seemed bigger/rounder than the sherriff...the sherriff had a severe angular look. The sherriff was very hard and mean looking. Her eyebrows had a crazy arch to them 8O

You can catch the latest episode on the ABC web site. That's where I catch up.
So...what'd y'all think about last night?

Even though nothing was really answered or learned in last night's show, it was nice to have a fairly 'normal' episode where we could just see some of the other characters interacting with each other again...
I liked it. I agree - we needed a little bit of levity. 8)
I miss Medium which is on at the same time. I think I'll go back to watching that instead :(

Last night's episode was sort of cute and funny, but I'm tired of being annoyed before bedtime. I need a good ending!

I said the same thing after it was over. I liked it and thought it was really nice to get away from the other storyline for awhile. It was a good break!
See how much fun VW busses can be??

Although, we don't have an 8 track player....
That's COOL, Deb! 8)
Deb, that is awesome! :)

I was disappointed again in the episode. But I look at it this way, there have to be episodes where nothing "too eventful" happen or there would be no MEAT to the larger things. Probably doesn't make sense, but I'm not super hard on the show. There are 10000000000 other shows I watch/have watched that are slow, so this one should be allowed a few slow episodes. :D
So much happened last night that I'm still processing it!!!! :excited:

sayid should have grabbed the cat. :hearts:
I liked this episode. It had an interesting enough backstory and enough stuff happening in real time to move the plot forward. I have to admit, though, that I'm not nearly as intrigued with the show as I was last season (and season 1), but I still like it enough and want to see what happens.

So...how weird was it that Jack was playing football with the Others? Do you think he was truly having a good time, was he brainwashed or is he scheming and pretending to adopt their way of life?

And what about the blood that came out of Patches' ears? That was kind of gross.

The Claire/Jack connection was interesting, but I was pretty sure that would be revealed at some point, so it was like, yep, I figured as much when they said that...although I wonder if Jack's dad really is Claire's dad...hmmmm

Do you think the seagulls are controlled and tagged by the Others?
I :hearts: this episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see after revealing Jack and Claire are related, why they wouldn't be. Jack knows who his father is, and I don't see why he wouldn't be Claire father's either. ...would be a weird pointless revelation if he wasn't? /shrugs
I just think it would have been funny if they had been hooking up the entire time.

The blood coming out of his ear was definitely gross.

I'm wondering what Locke's story is. ...if he's really who he says he is. The impression I got when that one guy died in mid sentence: "The only john locke I knew was the ....." ...just had something to do about him being in a wheelchair.

I can't decide if I want Kate to end up with Jack or the blonde doctor girl. I guess it would be unfair to Sawyer if he didn't get any tang in the end.
About the Jack/Claire thing...I don't know, it was just a weird feeling I had when they were meeting and he told her he was her father and stuff. I know it could have been just an awkward thing in general, but it seemed like Jack's dad was hesitating in a weird way. I don't know...

Yeah, that Locke thing was interesting, where Patch man said I know who you are and that you used to be par...And was cut off mid sentence my Rousseau yelling about finding the clearing. That made me wonder if Rousseau is who she claims to be or if she's on Patch man's side...that she stopped him from finishing his sentence.

I don't think that Kate has given us any indication that she's a lesbian.

That made me really start thinking more about the crazy Clockwork Orange-like situation that Carl was in when they rescued him and if this was the method that they used on everyone to get them to "go along" with the program. The images seemed so oddly random though. I'm not sure how they'd have that effect and so quickly.

my bad. should have put jack's name first.

I thought of clockwork orange as well. ..well, ever since we saw Carl forced to watch that video in that room. sorry if i have names wrong.
I have always thought that Jack may be gay though.
Holy Mother of Goodness...

what a good show eh?

I can't believe I'm the first to post here this morning considering my timezone is behind everyone else. <knock, knock> ANYONE OUT THERE?!?!?! ;)

This was so good. I wanted KATE TO KISS JACK!!! OHhhhhhhhhhh the tension. Oh the hate the for blonde doctor I have... this is so soap like.

I'm so mad Locke blew up the submarine! Then again, somehow I feel Ben knew he was going to before he even promised him to get off the island.

And that "magic box." LOCKE'S DAD?!?!?! He's so going to screw Locke's mind up again somehow.
I was going to post last night, but had too many thoughts to write.

Still right now all I can say is WOW!! 8O
So now there is no hope for anyone to ever get off the island? 8O They can't leave and no one can find them? 8O

Do you really think Jack is in love with Kate? :?

I figured that Locke's dad was responsible for him being in the wheelchair somehow. But getting him there?

Who was the man from Tallahassee? What was that all about?
A lot of stuff happened last night!

Okay--first of all--SO MAD at Locke...

I was glad that Kate and Jack didn't kiss--I don't like them together for some reason.

Do you think Jack really would have tried to come back and save people once he was taken away from the island or do you think his plan was to just save himself? Am I a bad person--I would have left on the sub...

How did Locke's dad get to the island? was he really there?

I don't think that the submarine will end up being the only way off the island...

I can't even form a coherant thread on last night!
barney1 wrote:

Yes, I do. He has a bit of a Messiah complex. I think he would've tried to come back and save them.
People are speculating that Cooper is really Sawyer. Remember, Sawyer took this name from one of the survivors.

Cooper was also seen drinking the same whiskey that Widmore likes! He also could be pretending to be held captive. I guess the next few episodes should be interesting.
Who is Cooper? :?
Locke's dad.

Ohhhhh....I see now...you mean they think that Locke's dad is the man who conned Sawyer's mom?

That'd be an interesting link. :?
Sawyer's Mom was conned. When did I miss all this stuff???

Thanks for the website Mrs J. It helps. 8)
I really think I'm going to have to see if I can find all the episodes and start watching Lost... LOL
Me too Stacey, I just bought the first 2 seasons on ebay
^^^

that's what I did. I could not LEAVE the TV and did not want those DVD sets to end b/c they were sooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. My husband is going to get S3 Iraq. He thinks he has a friend who is stationed at a place that sells a lot of bootlegs of each episode. I hope he does because there's nothing that can stop me from watching it while he's home on leave!

The only bad thing is not having all the cliff notes from other people while you watch it. Was it necessary? No. ...but reading about all the hidden stuff has made sense of other discoverie past and present. I told my husband a few the other day on the phone, and he was like HOLY COW.. how did I miss that!
I read that some think that Ben may be Jacob's son since that was the case in the Bible.

Jacob being the person they think is the real leader of the Others.
I wonder if they are going to bring up this season what happened when the Hatch blew up and those scientists in the igloo or whatever saw something on their screen and Penny was called...

:lmt: Been wondering the same thing.
I'm trying to summarize for my husband the LOST connections, so he can maybe get up-to-speed with everything. Thought as I do, I could post what I send to him in hopes it refreshes some memories esp. those who come in late (like I did). I'm also trying to learn more.

All this info was found at lostpedia.com but summarized.

Started with Shannon and Boone:

Jack's ex-wife was driving the car that killed Shannon's Dad.
Shannon was the chick who has a step-brother on the island named Boone (both were eventually killed off in early seasons).

Shannon pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Shannon

In the hospital where Shannon's Dad was being treated, Jack chose to save the Sarah instead. Sarah later became Jack's wife.

Sarah's pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Sarah_Shephard

Shannon's father was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:15.

This number also appears here:

1. number of minutes Sun was instructed to walk out of the airport if she wanted to leave her husband.

2. The appt time for Claire to sign the adoption form for her baby.

3. The safe deposit box that Kate robbed.

4. The copiers that Charlie was trying to sell were model C-815

5. # of whiskey bottles that Sawyer and Christian drink

6. # of Michael and Walt's room when captured

7. # of miles out to sea when the raft was found on radar

8. Their flight number was 815

Shannon and Sayid get it on like donkey kong. Shannon was also the one who reported Sayid at the Sydney airport for leaving a suspicious bag unattended. Shannon also did the donkey kong dance with her step-brother, Boone.

Boone's pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Boone

EDIT: Boone goes to Sydney police station the day of the flight to file a missing persons' report on Shannon and a complaint about her boyfriend at the time. Here he passes Sawyer who is there being interviewed by a detective who wants him to leave the country.
That's good info!

I had forgotten (or maybe didn't know?) that Jack's one-day wife killed Shannon's dad...hmmm, interesting. I wonder what, if anything, that means, or if it is just another random thing to show they are all connected.
Me too. I can't wait until everything is revealed and how everyone is connected. I get excited any time we find out someone is connected.

BTW, I forgot one. Added it in the edit!
Again, all this has been summarized and gathered from ABC and lostpedia.

Kate:

While Sam Austen, Kate's step-father, was serving in Iraq during Desert Storm, he ran into Sayid. Later while in Iraq, he met him again while riding in the back of a military vehicle. Sam starts a conversation with Sayid asking if he is married or have children. This is while Sam is looking at a picture of his own daughter, Kate. They release Sayid.

Sam Austen's pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Sam_Austen

Sam Austen was connected to Kelvin Inman while in Iraq. During the war when they obtained Sayid, Kelvin forced him to be their translator and torture Iraqi prisoners for information. In later episodes, we find out Kelvin knew Arabic all along. When the war ended, Kelvin transferred Sayid to a deserted area, where he gave him money for a bus fare back to Ramadi. Sayid showed disgust towards him since he disapproved of what he was forced to do. Before leaving, Kelvin says he will need his torture methods in the future in Arabic.

Kelvin's pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Kelvin

Moving back to Kate, ...while in the office with her "father" Sam Austen, saying their goodbyes before she goes on the run again, the local news in the background shows an Iraqi officer named Sayid. This is also where Kate reveals she knows Sam is not her real father. She saw a picture of him in Iraq with a date on it that didn't match up. Her real father was Wayne Janssen.

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Wayne

Wayne was abusive to Kate's mother, Diane, and an alcoholic. Kate eventually kills him by blowing up his house.

Kate then goes to say goodbye to her mom, Diane, who is a waitress. She notices her mom's wrist is wrapped up, and says she took care of her problem (killed her dad).

Diane's pic: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Kate%27s_mom

Kate's mom serves Sawyer lunch during his long con. Sawyer is there with his partner discussing their last plans before taking money from the girl Sawyer actually fell in love with.

There is more on Kate, but this covers the connections so far that she has had on the island...

Edit: I forgot to mention that Kelvin was part of the DARMA initiative and operated the Swan research station with Desmond. Later Desmond killed him accidently after learning he was being tricked into staying in the hatch while Kelvin repaired Desmond's boat in an attempt to leave the island.
No comments on this weeks episode??
It was very twilight zone-ish. I was told that Stephen King has said a number of times that he is a fan of the show.

It was a good episode, but I didn't want Nikki to die. I know I'm not a guy, but who wants to kill off another hot chick when there are only 2 left (kate, and maybe blonde doctor)?

My friends think this was the BEST episode. I was sad it didn't advance more. Some people say it did since we find out why and when Ben planned to grab Jack.

Poor Vincent kept trying to tell people that they were alive. Dogs are so smart.
I missed the first season, so a few episodes back when the showed the two, Billy & I were thinking who they heck or these people. And where have they been??? I was also very confused with the first 5 minutes, I didn't even pay attention because I thought maybe the show before was running late. I had no idea I was watching lost until I saw Sawyer.

I must have missed the Ben thing too, guess I need to watch it again.
All the first 10 minutes were... were Nikki at the set of a show (Expose) she was a guest star in. Oddly, when the director (someone she was dating), Howard L. Zukerman, tries to tell her that he can keep her on the show, she says "No, I'm a guest-star. I know I have to die." Coincidence?

Zukerman has no idea he is part of a con. He hires a cook, who is Nikki's real boyfriend (Paulo), and they poison him.

They wanted to steal his diamonds, which you saw on the show was worth 8 million.

Hopefully you saw the part where Dr. Arzt tells Nikki about the medusa spider?

As far as who they were in the past episodes, they show all that in the first 20 minutes. I may watch it again on ABC too.
Joahaeyo wrote:

Yes I did see that. And buried alive! AHHHHH! My worst nightmare. 8O
I liked, not loved, this episode. I've read and heard a lot of places that this was one of the best episodes and I was like, eh. I still found Nikki and Paolo to be annoying and was quite happy that they died...or did they?

As for them being there the entire time...I'm pretty sure they re-shot scenes for this episode to look like the beginning episodes to include them. I don't think they were actually there (the guy who plays Paolo said in some interview that he was only signed for like 5 episodes of season 3) but it was all very cleverly done to look like they had been there from the start.

I can't believe Nikki and Paolo killed the director guy for just 8 million in diamonds. If they were planning on living in the US, that won't last very long.

I thought it was hilarious when Sawyer kept saying Who ARE these people?
I didn't see anything past the part where Sawyer was shirtless.. 8O

I don't know. I think he's a little doughy looking for being on the island for almost 3 months...
I don't get the Sawyer-lust.
From abc website and lospedia:

Charlie Hieronymus Pace

While Charlie was singing in the streets for money, he met Desmond in passing. Desmond had just left from failing to get permission from Penny's father to propose. The first time, he didn't notice Charlie, but when Desmond lived the day again after turning the fail safe key on the island, he not only recognized Charlie but told him about being on the island together. Charlie, clueless about the island, commented that "this is why we don't do drugs."

Hurley had his first unofficial run-in with Charlie while at his local CD store. He found Driveshaft's CD (Charlie's band), and showed his dislike for them.

Then before boarding flight 815, Hurley and Charlie share the same hotel. Hurley wakes up late, and storms out of his room determined to make his flight. The elevator stops but was crowded, so Hurley opts for the stairs. Charlie yells at him by saying, "Some of us have a bloody flight to take!"

While on the plane, Cindy (flight attendant) was offering Jack a few extra bottles of vodka when noticing Charlie's peculiar behavior, so chased him down the aisle to the toilets where he took some drugs before the big crash. Cindy later appears on the island while Jack is caged outside at the Others camp.

John Locke; however, told Charlie that he knew and loved Driveshaft. He had bought both of his albums.

If people can climb over the fence, why can't smoke? Although I think that's nuts, I thought it was pretty good episode. I'm always continually disappointed that the smoke is not a giant dinosaur when it emerges from the jungle.
I thought last night's episode was really good! I think there were less commercial as well which is a plus for me!

I don't really have "thing" for any of the guys on the show. None of them are hunky enough for me :D
I can't wait for tonight!!!!! Teaser for tonight! (not a spoiler)

In which we usually ask the producers of Lost to give us a coy clue about the contents of tonight's episode?

But not today. As it happens, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are immersed writing the two-hour season finale — so I'm not going to pester them this week for a preview. Instead, your tease will come from... me.

Yep, I've seen tonight's episode. What can I say? How about this: A couple years from now, when the series is done, I'm certain there will be a DVD product that will collect the 20 or so episodes that represent the Definitive Lost Saga, and this one will be on it. Tonight, you will learn how Juliet came to the Island, and why the Others so desperately needed her miracle-grow baby-making science. You will learn more about Ethan's infiltration of the castaway encampment in season 1. You will learn how the Others know so much about the castaways. And the ending... well, it's killer. The episode is filled with sharp writing, stunning cinematography, and great performances. It is a weird, wicked, wonderful hour of television. I loved it.
Let's take bets on who dies. I'm going with Julia.
I'd be shocked if it's Juliet. There wouldn't be any more babes *outside of kate*, so I can't imagine they do that. Shoot... it surprises me they have killed off Shannon, Ana-Lucia, and Nikki!

I also heard producers say Paulo's role is bigger than what has been revealed so far. ...like maybe he had a connection to someone bigger.

I wish it was Jack. I think it'll probably be Charlie-- he's supposed to die anyway and seems to keep escaping it. Maybe this'll be it!
Jack is a dreamboat to me. Something about him that I like... :hearts:

Now I'm wondering if Alex was born on the island since Ben said he's never left the island. hmm....

The next episode looks so good, and the finale... wowza!

Here's what a lot of people discovered. The book in the preview next week is called Ardil-22.

Ardil is a Portuguese, and used for the book title Catch-22.
The men on the boat with Desmond's girlfriend spoke portugese.
Paulo spoke portugese (from Brazil).
The episode was great last night! I'm really having a hard time keeping everyone straight though.

My sense is the Asian woman may die. Wasn't she supposed to be pregnant? We haven't heard anything about that this season. Hmmm...
Stacy, that's a good theory.

edit: something else: The medical chart that Ben showed Juliet of her sister's cancer coming back showed clearly that it was the chart of a MALE that was 187lbs.
Even after the bit at the end, I still think Juliet is going to screw Ben over. These next few episodes should be very good...
I do, too or how else will Jack end up with Juliet (what I'm assuming, even if it takes the final season). Although Jack could be in on it as well which would explain his change in behavior. I wonder what the significance of being "marked" is...

The preview for next weeks show in slow-motion has a lot of clues for what to expect the next episode. Should be good!
Is it weird that I'm a bit disappointed that no one died in that episode?

Jo - you got way more out of the preview for next week than I did! I'm going to have to watch it again. I think the next few episodes look like they're going to be very good. We're finally getting some answers.

I'm still not sure which side Juliet is on. She's playing it well.

I'm still suprised that Paulo and whats-her-name are actually dead. I thought they'd bring them back digging their way out of the sand. :?
More Questions: If the island cures people of cancer, why did Ben get it? Or did he?

Lostpedia says Alex was born on the island and snatched by the Others when she was one week old. So, Juliet lied and Claire wasn't the first?????

If Ben was really surprised about the airplane crashing, how did they obtain all this info about the survivors? They came off as if they didn't even know there was someone pregnant on the plan which is why they sent Ethan investigate.
There was a marking on the tree where Juliet picked up the medicine case.

Matches their own marking.

The fact that she parachuted down from a helicopter at such a low altitude is supposed to be a "clue" to something, so I read. Helicopters can't fly too far from land too.

I wonder what would have happened if he let Charlie die... What sort of conclusion Desmond thought would happen.

Also, did anyone notice the old lady (desmonds time travel lady from a few episodes back) in the pic with the monk?

This was a boring episode.
I didn't notice the time travel lady in the pic with the monk. :? I thought it was a pretty good episode, though. I just keep wondering now when Charlie is going to die - and how.
the pic: http://www.thetailsection.com/Image/mother-time(1).jpg

(you have to copy and paste entire url and not just what is blue - i can't seem to fix it myself)
Both the pics of Desmond and Penny and the monk and the old lady are obvious bad Photoshop jobs, though. Too obvious, which makes me think something is up with the way the photos were made maybe even more than who was in them.
I agree that the pic clearly comes off as photoshopped. Weird.
My whole purpose in watching Lost every week... is the possibility of seeing Sawyer shirtless...
I thought it was pretty good. I knew there was something up with Jun for next week

I started chuckling to myself when Kate was like... danggit, I need some ..............lovin' and made herself at home.
Since I've been gone I got to watch 3 weeks worth last night...and they were 3 pretty good episodes! I like how they are letting more info out about what the Others do. Jill, I'm with you about wanting the smoke creature to be a dinosaur.

My favorite line of this week's episode (I think it was this week's--it's hard to remember when you watch a few at a time) was Sawyer's line to Jack and Juliet saying What are you guys talking about--Who's your favorite Other? ha ha ha
