Grooming table

I am so excited my grooming table will be arriving today! I ordered it on Ebay for $10 but of course the shipping is $80! But I think it is still cheaper than trying to buy one around here. It is brand new

No more fighting the grooming!!! Yippee!!

Yay! Post some pictures of Laika on her new grooming table when you can!

Next up.... Laika Loves her Grooming Table! :clappurple:
It arrived!! Still in the box sitting in the hallway at work, have to wait until I get home. The box doesn't look big enough~~! Well we will see. Should fit I got the extra large. Last time I measured her she was 25" by 25" herself!! haha!
Hooray!! Grooming tables make such a difference -you'll be amazed! :D
Thanks! I am very excited. This will make my life so much easier (I hope) we will see tonight. I have to say even with the cost to send it, it was still pretty cheap! I don't know how people make money on ebay. My winning bid was $9.99 I was so surprised.
Woohoo!!

90 is still cheap for a new table...
Congrats on he grooming table. I cant wait to get one myself but I am going to wait until I get back home to Colorado. Which I am very homesick right now. Have about a month until I get home but what can you do. The table will make grooming so much easier.
Congrats to you for the new grooming table
Send some pics :)
Have fun - you'll really enjoy it once she's used to it - I'm sure your back will be LOVING it!
So, did you get a chance to try out the table? or at least set it up???
You got us all excited!
Yeah, we want to hear all about it! How did Laika like it? How do you like it?
Ok SpaceGirl21,

You've had your grooming table at home for at least 10 hours now, so where's your report and photos!!

Have Fun

Carl
I had a vacation day on Friday.

Well she fits fine on the table but the hook for the noose doesn't work. I don't know if it is broken or what. So I have to start looking for new hook.
Can you post a pic of the hook?
I can take a picture tonight when I get home from work and post it tomorrow.
I have been looking online for a replacement for the noose. I want to get one that if she tries to jump off the table it will release, but not let go with the slightest movement. What about ones that keep them standing also. She wants to lie down. Any suggestions.
I always groom them laying down, you can't line brush if they're standing....
Yes but for the hard to get spots, I want her standing. She squirms and tries to grab the brush. When I do her underarms and belly. Makes me nuts. She is still a silly squirmy puppy.
I got our quick release snap seperate from the noose. It came with a bolt snap, and we weren't comfortable with that. I ordered ours from Petedge catalog, but they do sell them at hardware and farm supply stores. We have a horse tie that has the exact same snap.

It really is easist to do the bulk of the grooming laying down - all the way on her side with her feet sticking straight out. We only use the noose and stand for drying and the final fluff after we are done. Otherwise it's a relaxed down - do all one side then flip over and do the other side. Do the belly, armpits and legs/feet while on her side. If she gets restless, move to an easier area and come back to it later.

Like every new thing, getting used to a grooming process takes a bit of practice. But if you are consistant and relaxed, she will come to love it. If she always gets antsy after a certain amount of time, try stopping while she is still good and take her off the table. Then come back to it later. Also make the table the main spot she gets petting and attention, so she will be eager and craving your attention. She seems like such a lovebug, so I'm sure it will work! :D
