No puppy for us :(

Jason and I have had some things come up, which has cost us a ton of money. Let's see our washer AND our dryer both quit on us, Brandon needed surgery which we had to pay our co-pay and a percentage of out of pocket, Jake had to have some expensive dental work done (and we have crappy dental insurance), we had to replace 2 windows in our houses due to storms, we had to go visit relatives out of state due to health problems, the list goes on and on.... Basically, if anything can go wrong in the past few weeks, it has. We had a nice little reserve in savings, but needless to say, we've been wiped out! lol Oh and to add to it - my wisdom teeth are just coming in at 27 and giving me problems. *groan* Our puppy money disappeared, but I guess there's not much else that can be done - our family's needs comes first in this situation. I guess this one just wasn't meant to be!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulties...
I hope things settle down for you soon...
I am so sorry to hear this. It is a wise decision but surely not a happy one.

Remind me though -- didn't you get a puppy named Brees? I thought the sheepie was going to be a second puppy in your household.

Thanks. The surgery for Brandon was the only thing expected, so we've just been hit hard! lol Hey, at least we still have our health. :)

Yeah, we already have Brees. We adopted her after we lost Jasper. :( We were supposed to get the sheepie this week actually. :(
We've got all our W-2s in...I'm sorta hoping for a big tax refund and that way we can still get a puppy if they have one available. That would be perfect, but probably just wishful thinking!
That's not good news. I hate it when everything goes wrong all at once!
Here's hoping you get that tax refund!!
8) When it rains it pours. I hope things start looking up for your family very soon. :D
I'm sorry that this turned out to be such a difficult time. But perhaps NEXT year the stars will align and it will be your year for a puppy!!
So sorry you're having to go through such difficult times, Gail.

Is Brandon okay? What about Jake's teeth? And good luck with your own wisdom teeth!

They say everything happens for a reason, even though we can't see it at the time. Take heart - next time will be the charm! 8)
Sorry to hear about all of your unexpected expenses. I'm sure things will turn around for you soon.

Brandon's surgery has been planned for the last year. He drools REALLY bad and he has sleep apnea. We were hoping the situation would resolve itself as he got older, but it seems to be getting worse. His adenoids and tonsils are enlarged (that's what's causing the problems), and since our pedi and ENT wanted to wait until he was 4 - and his birthday was the 20th, we had to wait until after the first of the year. That meant the $1000 deductible plus we were responsible for 15% of the surgery costs. It was a one-day thing, and he's fine. He was sore and slept a lot the first two days, but it's like nothing has happened since then.

Jake had an accident at school and three of his teeth went INTO his gum. Poor baby - his mouth bothered him for days. He basically had to have dental surgery to remove them - and hopefully his adult teeth will decide to come in soon.

I'm hoping my teeth won't be a problem - I need to go visit the dentist soon. It's SO much pressure in the back of my mouth though - hubby says they'll probably need removed. :( Ugh...our dental insurance pays 20% total and we just had to pay a ton towards Jake. :(
I know exactly how if feels when it rains it pours.

We had the worst summer/fall for major expenses....everytime we turned around we had to give someone $700 min. Now that it is January we've only finished paying it off.

It's really hard to keep a savings, when the unexpected comes around.

Hope you get your puppy, and everyone gets better soon.
Sorry about your troubles. While this door is shut, others are open. Sometimes we don't realize our good fortune or opportunity because we got our thumb caught in the closing door and then smacked our face by the opening door. Step back and see where you stand. I suspect that closed door will open again. In the mean time treasure what you have.
I'm sorry Gail :( I know how much you wanted another sheepie.
It will happen though. You are destined to have another Sheepie.
:ghug:
I'm sorry too gail, when things settle down for you, well what is the old saying "Good Things come to those who Wait"
Aweeeeeeeeeeee...

I bet with all the recent bills/things you had to pay for, knowing you couldn't get an OES that you had been so excited about had to be hard.

I'm sorry to hear, but hope one comes your way soon!
