when is your wedding again ButtersStotch?

Sorry, I forgot. Are you ready? What do you have left to do? Is the honeymoon in Vegas?

It's April 28. Your post actually made me remember that I still have to book the catering, so thanks! That's the last big thing that I have left to do. I know what I want, I just have to have someone call me back to confirm and make it official. I picked out my cake already too but the bakery only need about a month's notice so whenever I'm ready I can do that too. Once I get the catering set I'll worry about that. I haven't booked the hotel yet (other than the wedding night) because none of the good deals are out yet for Vegas. I'm waiting until the last minute! We have our plane tickets so we're set there, too. It's coming up so fast now.

No wait, I forgot, I still have to do the invitations but everything depends on the other. I have to confirm the catering before I can finish the invite since I have to give people instructions on where to go. I have all the supplies for my invitation, they just need to be put together. They're going to have a pirate theme and the instructions for people coming in will be a treasure map. Cute, huh? I bought this cool ribbon that looks like netting from a pirate ship and I'm going to tea stain paper to make it look old, like a map. I'll take pictures and post them when I'm done. It should be cute. Thank goodness I don't have a lot to do (only about 30)because each one will probably take a bit of time!

What else? Oh, the honeymoon. No, Vegas isn't the honeymoon. I guess you could call it the mini-honeymoon. We're going to go on a cruise around October. We were originally thinking the Greek Isles but we've changed our minds recently and I think we're going to do Panama-- that way we get to go to Costa Rica, Chile, Columbia, Mexico and other cool South American destinations. It should be fun. James is a picky eater so he was worried about not having American food to eat but he feels secure that the cruise ship will provide for him!
Open Bar or Not??????

Weddings, are you getting stressed? I don't know of anyone that hasn't with all the planning. 8)

Sounds so much fun and I am sure it will be a memorable and fun, special day.

Cruise sounds fantastic :D
Well, I just found our hotel's banquet rooms are all booked for the day of the wedding. :( That would've been a nice thing to tell me the other times I called since I had contacted them a few times before and they said that this had been booked for quite awhile. Oh, well. One nice thing about Vegas-- there's a million places to have a wedding reception!

Now I'm looking at the Wynn hotel or maybe even just Maggiano's Little Italy restaurant. They have a banquet facility and a great menu. Plus, the room is really nice-- lots of light and airy. Most of the banquet rooms in the hotels are in the interior of the building so you don't get windows. It's only lunch so it's not like I was going to have an elaborate thing with dancing and Maggiano's food is good, too. I'm waiting on the Wynn menu to be faxed tomorrow. I'll bet it will be really nice but I really didn't want to get too extravagant. The wedding list already went from about 25 to 60 people and is really losing the smallness of a destination wedding!

Lisa, all of Vegas is an open bar so there's no reason for me to have to provide it! All the casinos give you free drinks if you're gambling-- even if you aren't, all you have to do is sit at a machine and wait for a waitress. Plus, my cousin works at New York New York so she always hooks us up with good drinks if we hang out there. Instead of the teeny little glasses, she brings us tumblers!
That really sucks about the hotel banquet rooms being booked! I would "think" they get booked a year out because it's VEGAS!!! Would have been nice to get make it to the elevator at the end of the night... Although, I'm thinking people will want to go everywhere since it's not every day/night you're in Vegas. I don't remember our trip there at all. Well, what really happened will definitely go to the grave w/us.

You are so lucky to have a destination wedding! I'm stoked for you. Mostly because we almost got married there. Something about that place makes you want to do crazy things...

I'm hungry just thinking about all the great places to eat. (like, literally drooling from the mouth)

It's funny how you imagine your wedding, and then how it really turns out! I laughed when I read that the number more than doubled, as far as guests!!! Hopefully a lot of people will give cash gifts because ...you're in Vegas, they know you can't carry much home, and you're in Vegas!!!

Hopefully the cost for catering something in Vegas isn't too much!!!!!! I can't imagine!

Your honeymoon ideas sound wonderful!!! If you pass by Costa Rica, I don't think you'd be disappointed!!! Most of the cruise ships go to http://www.tabacon.com/ ...it's been my dream destination for as long as I've known Mr. J. We know at least 15 people who have gone that said they wish they would have just spent more time here because it was so beautiful ...and affordable.
Well Ms. Butterscotch. I am going to be in Vegas that weekend. Mike bought me a trip to Vegas for my Birthday. We are staying at the Tresure Island!!! YAHOO!!! I hope that maybe we can met up. I was thinking about that last week. I was going to ask you when your wedding was. Let me know if you need anything. Anyone else attending?
