:yay: :D
I wanna go!!! When and where? I have never been to any of the lower 48 westcoast states! Also, my hubby wants to move to Cali sometime after october of 2007 so, if it's there, then I can see what it's like!

Woo Hoo!! :cheer: :yay: :excited:

Nic
Hi Nic,
The Party is at my house in Cathedral City and the dog park in Palm Springs, which is the next town. Also a great place to visit!! 8)
I haven't picked a date yet. I think either March 10th or 17th.
That sounds really great!! I'll keep both of those dates open and hope :plead: Loki and me and the family can make it!

I think I'll try and plan for an extended vacation so that I can see more of the state! that would be fun!

Nic
Stella and I are absolutely planning on being there.
Mark
Geez Deb, does that mean we have to copyright "Sheepiepalooza?"

PS. Coming soon to the forum - more details on the "Sheepiepalooza" scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at Purina Farms, St. Louis. We will be trying to pm or email details to all on the forum in Missouri and surrounding states, as well as general post on the forum since many members do not list thier location. Of course all are welcome - Lorie D (Pennslyvania) is planning to make the trip.

Should have the post up by the end of January.
What!! Elissa, are you going to allow blatant thread-stealing and advertising of a totally different Sheepie Event in your thread! :!:

I wouldn't stand for it!!! LOL

I can't wait for this!!

Nic
Pick the 10th! Pick the 10th!

Yeah, George! What is up with that!!! :D

That's okay if George wants to promote his Sheepiepalooza here.
If it was in California that would be a different story.

Randi,
I am guessing that you want it to be on the 10th?

Is the 10th okay for everyone???
Geez, I'm sorry about the plug; I'll pray that you have great weather and big turnout.

George, it's okay. I too am guilty of doing it myself. I have plugged SheepieFest of the West in other threads about other events.
I just get excited about big Sheepie gatherings, :excited: as I am sure you are very excited for the one you are planning. :D
Sigh... you go away for a week and you miss all the planning
Anyway, sorry I can't make the 10th or the 17th. Arena Football starts the end of Feb and the Rattlers have a game on the 10th. (We have season tickets this year. Yay Rattlers!) I'm doing a half marathon in Tucson on the 18th. So I can't make either date. I'm sorry to miss it!
That's such a bummer! :(

Nic
Hey George - what are the Sheepiepalooza dates again??
I think the 10th can be open for me! Woo Hoo!

My best friend has been kind enough to donate her time to design t-shirts for us this year. They will be $15 a shirt all the profits from the shirts will be donated to rescue.

Just wanted to see how many of you would be interested in buying them.
We'll take five (3 - xxl & 1 lg). Shall I mail check?. :?:
Jean,
You only put down 4 sizes. What was the other size?
Also the sizes will be in Men's sizes. Just easier to place the order that way.

I'll pm you my mailing address. 8)
Any other interest in t-shirts? I have to order them soon!
Dixie wants to come too. The 10th sounds awesome. Can't wait to meet all the sheepies....and people too!
Awesome we'd love to have Dixie and Family!

Any interest in t-shirts? It's for a good cause. :)
What's the design like? Maybe if you had a visual you'd get more takers.

Actually, I'm just making excuses. I just want to see what they look like. :D

I was wondering why it hadn't arrived. lol
Sending another pm. :)
OK so maybe this should be a new topic, but posting here should do the trick.
Where is everyone staying who will be coming from out of town? Any suggestions of dog friendly hotels?
Mark
Thanks for the reminder Mark.
I was planning on posting this.
Here is a list of local animal friendly hotels.
http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/trave ... ings.shtml

I believe the Red Roof Inn in Thousand Palms is the closest, but it also right off Rte 10. Close to lots of food places, but may be noisy due to the Freeway being there. Also for those with more than one dog Red Roof is not for you, as they only allow one dog. The Comfort Suites in Cathedral City is also pretty close and they do allow more than one dog. But do charge $10 extra per night per pet fee.
I would check out each hotel and see what they have to offer. The hotels in Indio are about 25 minutes away so I would suggest, Palm Springs, Cathedral City or Palm Desert.
I am so excited... :excited:
SheepieFest of the West is approaching quickly!!
We have 5 Sheepdogs coming (including my 2) just from my town alone!
Not to mention all the out of towners that will be joining us.
Hi Elissa,

I'm crossing my fingers and playing it by ear. Hoping to get to come.

WooHoo SheepieFest of the West is TODAY!!!!! :yay:
I am so excited!! :excited:
have a wonderful time - and pictures!!! - of course!
That seemed to pop up quickly. Guess that means we need to start planning here in Chicago too! Have a blast and I can't wait to see pics!
I am so sorry I missed the event. I had an accident yesterday.

Yesterday morning, we took all our dogs for a walk. My plan was to take them all for a longer walk before Clayden and I left to the dog park to meet the sheepies. I can't handle all three dogs by myself and I felt bad to leave the other two behind. So we all went for a walk around the neigborhood. When we were almost home, we saw a family standing in their driveway talking a few houses ahead. The son was holding a leash to a chihuahua. So we decided to cross the road to avoid the dog. The little dog saw us and started barking. I was walking Nina, the Retriever/St Bernard. Nina is the calmest dog among the three. She loves everyone and everydog. I remember the first time I took her to the dog park when she was 4 months old. She fitted right in and started greeting and playing with all the dogs the moment she entered into the park.

Yesterday, I don't know what got into her. She saw the chihuahua, she went beserk. She was cying, struggling, jumping up and down, I tried to stop her and while we were struggling, she slipped out of her collar! She dashed right across the street. I could hear the mom and the little girl across the steet were screaming. I ran right after Nina, trying to get ahold of her. That lady screaming to her son "pick him up,pick him up" and the son picked up the whole chihuahua by the leash! Nina still went crazy and I couldn't control Nina. So I finally threw myself onto the ground to pin her down. That's how I finally stopped her and calm her down. My hushand and my son were there but they could not help because each had a dog in their hand and it would only be worse if the other two dogs got closer.

I was so worried the lady would be so upset with Nina and us. To my surprise, she was all aplogizing. She kept asking me if I was Ok and said it was her dog's fault. Her dog is very agressive and provoking. I told her I was sorry our dog scared them. We were both aplogizing to each other non-stop! When I finally got up, I found out my hand was bleeding , and I also hurt my two knees. My hand was scratched from the cemented pavement and my knees were brusing and bleeding because I threw myself onto the ground. I pratically looked like a frog!

We made it back to the house but my knees and my ankle was hurting really bad and I was upset with myself. I think I gave too much attention to Clayden since he arived. That's why Nina has become so unstable.

It didn't help that my laptop crashed yesterday. I am only able to log on again just now.

You guys must have lots of fun. I have been waiting for the event and couldn't wait to see the sheepies  ...Sigh... I guess I will just wait for the pictures?

Clayden's mom
Gigi,
I am so sorry about what happened to you!!
I hope your knees are okay.
The pictures that I took are in a post in the picture section.
Poor Gigi!
Gigi: I am so sorry to hear about your accident, ouch! I hope you heal up quickly. My two dogs pulled me down on the ground in January, so I feel your pain. (I was thankful I landed on grass. Still thought i might have cracked my ribs. All recovered now.) More then likely your dog sensed the others aggressiveness. Anyway, you'll be sore for a while. Just take it easy and take care of yourself. It is to bad you missed SheepieFest.........
