We had a New Years Day Party!

We had a New Years Day Party!!! It was spur of the moment and we had family and a few close friends. What a great way to start the new year!

It was the first year in neons that hubby didn't have a gig on New Years Eve. He'd been talking all month about wanting to have a party for the Holidays but I was worried about his energy level after being so sick. So on New Year's Eve he was feeling good so off we went to the store and called our invitees and viola a party the next day!

He pulled out the turkey fryer he got for Christmas last year and it was the first time he's used it. He injected the turkey with cajun spices and also put a rub on it from Barbeques Galore. He had a lot of fun with the turkey syringe by the way (I think he'd highly recommend that). I think he was getting even for all the sticks he got in the hospital. DELICIOUS! 49 minutes for an almost 15 lbs turkey. Can I tell you we have NO left overs. FRIED TURKEY IS THE BOMB! I wouldn't have believed that before a few days ago.

We also made Elissa's Yummy potatoes. YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY. Good luck New years day soup with beans and other delicious ingredients. And lots of other delicious food. My mother always taught me to have enough food. Well we hardly have any leftovers and we had about 20 people.

Copper ran out the door during an arrival of some guests so I had to go running down the sidewalk to catch him. Aside from that we had the best time.

Had to go in the hot tub last night to recover from cleaning all those heavy pots and pans.

WOO HOO. Year 2007 year of Socializing, GOOD HEALTH and ......

Oh sounds fabulous and sometimes last min parties turn out to be the best! The food sounded so good and as it was family and close friends those informal gatherings are always the most comfortable.
