Dickens Update-Working on potty training-and names!

He's doing great and fits right in. He gets the potty idea but is still about 50% accurate. When I bring him to his spot outside he usually goes, but still has accidents inside. Not bad, though, for not even 8 weeks old.

One funny story- we were so proud of ourselves for naming our new OES Dickens and thought the name would fit perfectly. The only thing we didn't take into consideration was that Kaden, our soon to be 5 year old, might have trouble pronouncing it. So, no matter how many times we've tried, Kaden has taken to calling Dickens Chickens! He TRIES to say Dickens, but it just keeps coming out Chickens. We'll persevere and hopefully Kaden will improve his pronunciation soon!

Glad to hear he's doing so well!! Of course, you know, at this young age he really can't tell when he's going to have to pee. He doesn't know until it's happening! LOL  So, just be consistent with taking him out and be patient! Potty training takes a long time. :D

Very cute story about Kaden not being able to say his name. That's just hilarious! :D That's a story you'll remember forever. :D
Chickens....Dickens....close enough...Im sure that will end up being a great nickname in the future....

They are not know to be the most brave watchdogs out there..... :D
That is funny about the name.

When my son was younger he called our dog Peanut, Pea By.
He eventually got it. But Peanut had the nickname Pea By that suck with him. My daughter calls our dog Lacey, Sa Cey.
Pepsi is Pep a and Rags was Aags, now is Rags.
Darcy is right, that may end up being an appropriate nickname. Harry got scared when the dish towel fell a few weeks ago.
Sounds like Dicken's is doing just great! :cheer:

Loved the 'Chicken' story! That's too cute :D

We had a little pedi patient step into our separate
clean room once to announce he had chicken 'pops'.
He was so proud he had made the diagnosis for Dr.

One puppy tip- Our vet suggested to give the heartworm
medication on the first of every month. It's easier to
remember and it actually worked out good for us.

Keep those Dicken's updates coming.
